Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Any thoughts on who I could add in his place? I'm going for Chris Herrmann and A-Cab in separate deals.
Here's my list of availables: Dee Gordon, Elliot Johnson, Jack Hannahan, George Kottaras, J.A. Happ, Folty, Casey Crosby.
Cosart, DeShields, and Correa aren't off limits per se, but it would have to be a blockbuster.
EDIT: I was also looking at Jimmy Rollins and Yunel Escobar, but I'd prefer A-Cab due to age/cost reasons. Any of these guys would be realistic in my 'chise. The Rays now have Profar, the Indians are 18-29, the Phillies are 20-28 so far. Would have to wait a little on Rollins especially since the Phils made the WS in 2013 in my 'chise.
What do you guys think of Doubront for Pacheco?
Doubront is 10-8 4.33 ERA 3.76 DIPS and 126 Ks. I'm just having horrible luck every time I use him, so it's time for him to go. Another possible trade that can go down is:
Doubront, Ciriaco and a B or high C for Pacheco and Nelson (still on the Rockies)Last edited by WaitTilNextYear; 06-13-2013, 10:00 PM.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

For A-Cab? Is there anything more valuable than what you listed but less valuable than DeShields that you're willing to give up?
Happ and Gordon for Escobar+ could work though."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Some options that are a bit more valuable: DeShields, Folty, Cosart, Chris Carter, Garret Richards
If I had to include Carter, I'd need to think about picking up a new DH (Mark Reynolds is a FA for some reason...could work). I do think CLE would like Carter though.
But I really think they'd need Folty to make it work. If you can come up with some combo, be my guest.
I'd rather work out a deal for A-Cab unless that's not possible, then I'd consider Yunel.
EDIT: I sent Profar to Tampa in a David Price deal in 2013 of my chise.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Hmmm....
Casey Crosby and Elliot Johnson for Chris Herrmann. I think that's ok.
The tougher one is Cabrera.
Folty + Dee Gordon
-or-
Happ + McCullers possibly
I was hoping to save McCullers to be my closer for 10-15 years, but Cishek has been so good, not sure it's super necessary.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guy wanna start start since preliminary talks about getting Carlos Ruiz from Phillies in my Yankees chise.
I was thinking about sending Nova their way. Would that be enough? too much?
We're in a very tight 5 team race in the east at the end of May and Catcher is really the only spot not producing for me and I'm not calling up Sanchez before he's ready.
Philadelphia is 22-25 3 games back but falling fast as Atlanta and Washington are finding their stride. And with Ruiz aging and on a ending contract I figure he's really the only good catcher to go after.
Plus as soon as I put Nova on the block Phi was interested.
Nova has been in the pen for about a month he's around 3-2 with a 5+ era 25K's.
Ruiz is around .290 2 hr, I'll post more as soon as I turn on the ps3.

Also, it'd probably be more realistic to wait a month or so before doing this if you want realistic moves. It's too early for the Phillies to give up yet not even 50 games in.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah I was just getting some starting ideas right now.
Here are some more complete stats:
Ivan Nova: 2-2 5.05 era 25K 4gs 7 hr 1.46 whip 1 sv
Carlos Ruiz: .287 3 hr 17 rbi .413 slg .467 risp
What you think about adding either Cervelli or Romine instead of Mesa?

I think they'd rather have Romine than Cevelli. I could see a Nova + Romine for Ruiz deal. Nova doesn't look to be pitching well either, though it's ok to add in Romine.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

What you guys think it would take to get Lowrie from Oak?
I know it's only the end of May but they are already 11 games back of stunning Angels and Rangers teams. And I could really use a utility infield guy with some pop, and David Adams was beyond horrible in his callup so I called up Mustelier who has been great but he only plays one infield position(3B) and doesn't have much pop.
I can't see Oak really wanting to make that long a deal with him, with Addison Russell in double A being 19 with A potential, and he's raking down there .320 3 hr 19 rbi .429 RISP.
Maybe I could do something around Greg Bird and another prospect or two? I'd say throw Melky Mesa in but can't see Oakland wanting another of with the logjam in the majors and good prospects in the minors.

McCullers is a nice add. They don't need Gordon, though, and Happ has minimal value, and please please please don't trade Folty.
How about, since I know these kids damn well, how about two of Carlos Perez/Asher Wojciechowski/Joe Musgrove/Kevin Comer? I would probably make Asher a must-trade in this deal though. If you've already traded any of these guys, sorry lol.
.157 ISO and hit 16 dingers last year... for a shortstop, he's got some pop, yeah, but not a whole lot in general. Plus for his position, definitely."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
