Now we're talking. Butler is one of the few core players we'd be willing to deal at this point. He has just come off his best career season and we need the money that he's going to command after 2014 for contract negotiations with Moose and Hosmer.

With our rotation including Shields, Guthrie, Davis, Santana and either Hochevar or Chen, I'm not quite sure where Buehrle would fit in. As your well aware, we're maxed out on salary and in order for us to take Buehrle off your hands, you guys will have to float some of the bill.

So go ahead and give us your pitch (pun intended) we'll negotiate from there.

Well, I'd be comfortable giving what I suggested earlier, minus Dean, for Butler. I'd give Bonifacio, Stilson, and Alford up for Butler.

Buehrle would probably fit in as a quality #3 in your rotation. He's proven in the AL Central, but with his time in Chicago, he was pitching in a hitter's park, of U.S. Cellular. We think he'd be a quality piece for you guys in 'going for it,' and feel that appropriate compensation could be starting pitching prospect John Lamb and shortstop prospect (for now) Christian Colon. Buehrle's been to the disabled list a whole 0 times in 12 years, and would be great for your rotation, while Lamb is coming off surgery, and Colon doesn't have the highest ceiling. He does, however, have a high floor, and Lamb's 2010/11 seasons were fairly impressive.

Basically, we're presenting you with two trades: One, a 'buy time' option of not going for it just yet, not this year, with Billy Butler. Bonifacio could help you guys contend, but this would hamper your present and improve your future.

Two, a 'go for it' option. The standard prospects-for-contributors option.

The Billy Butler trade seems fine to me for the most part. However, we're wondering how you feel about tossing Alberto Tirado into the deal alongside the aforementioned players.

For Buehrle, your asking price is awful high. Despite the fact that Lamb had Tommy John, he's always been highly touted for his control and movement and we see him as a cheaper and more controllable alternative to Buehrle who doesn't come with all the baggage.

With so much instability at second base, we can't really afford to part with Christian Colon who appears to be our best bet for a consistent player at that position for the foreseeable future.

However, we are willing to part with lefthander Chris Dwyer and power outfield bat Brian Fletcher. Both are close to major league ready and can play in multiple roles while retaining their effectiveness.

On the subject of Tirado, I'm not entirely sure we're willing to give him up. We're quite high on him, and feel he could rise in a similar way to Roberto Osuna's rocketing up prospect lists. We're interested in how you feel about control-based lefty Griffin Murphy. Taken as part of our impressive 2010 draft, he was excellent this year, despite being pushed along slowly. We feel he isn't being utilized to his potential and think you could do wonders with him.

We're not particularly interested in either of the players you've mentioned. Would you be interested in Buehrle for Lamb, straight up?

Murphy looks like he could be a good arm for us to have and I think he could be very special with us so, we can go with him. So now that's settled what is your exact final offer for Butler?

I'm sorry but I don't see us giving Lamb up for Buehrle like that. It isn't that we don't want Buehrle, it's just that he's making too much and he would really stretch our payroll paper thin and restrict moves we could make later on. Lamb is still young and we're confident he can be a high ceiling arm that will remain cheap for us for the foreseeable future.

How does it work if you're playing a franchise with one team, a rep for another, but want to make a grade to your repped team?

Ie: I'm doing a Nats 'chise and want to explore trading Bernadina to the Mets who I rep? Anyone want to play the role of a Mets rep for my dealings?

In regards to Mark (I'm sick of spelling his last name), will Adalberto Mondesi be in the OSFM rosters? We are interested in him. Him, Jason Adam, and Orlando Cilixte all interest us. Maybe one of them + Cam Gallagher or Cheslor Cuthbert?

Ideally you'd have more than 1 rep for this very situation. If not, I'm sure the lot of us guys around here with some knowledge would be willing to help (looking at you NFG or AC)

This caused confusion last year. I think for things like this, I'd either pick the team I'm chising with, or go into the trade discussion thread for this.

Remember MSU did this last year? For guys that can't stick with one franchise/team, this would turn into chaos again lol

Don't mention that name in this thread lol. And I see your point, but there really is something to be said about guys with extensive knowledge of one system who want to chise with another team (like me for example.)
