Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
After a bad start (14-21) in my Tigers franchise, I'm now sitting atop the AL Central at 34-29. If I can get Torii Hunter and Prince Fielder going, I think I'll have a good chance to get to the World Series and win at least one game. :PComment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I always struggle with the favorite team thing in my dynasties.
On the one hand, I genuinely enjoy playing with my favorite teams. I mean, they are my favorite teams after all. And it's nice winning with them, especially when they're down in real life. And I do sometimes feel like I'm cheating on them if I play with another team, especially if they're struggling in the game.
On the other hand, the "pressure" is off so to speak playing with another team. It's easier to just enjoy the game, if that makes sense, because you're not emotionally attached.
I started one with the Braves since they're my team. But I'm so tempted to start over with the Pirates.Comment

Kansas City Royals - 2013 - September / Playoffs Update and Off Season Goals
Record - 83-79
Place AL central (25 GB)
The Royals season is over. It was an up and down year. But we were able to get our first winning season since 2003. We went 17-10 in August. Tied for the best we did in any month. Finished the season at 83-79 for our 1st winning seasons since 2003. We went 83-79 that year as well. Hopefully 2014 is better than 2004 was. Detroit decided they were a little mad after losing in 4 in the WS last year. Finished the regular season with the best record at 108-54. 20 games ahead of Chicago in the division.

Interesting read though! Love that the Braves won it all, Gerald Laird as MVP of the WS though, didn't see that one coming! Man did Miggy have an AMAZING season lol! Good luck next year!Comment

I guess McCann got hurt during the year. Laird had 464 AB and hit .301. He was 2nd for playoff mvp behind Heyward.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I just started a franchise with the Yankees. I will try to win it all in the first season but it'll be hard. I put Texeira, Granderson, A-Rod and Jeter all in single-a ball so the roster is true to real life. I will call them up when they are reinstated from the DL in real life.
I also have to look at 3B and SS. Now that Jeter is gonna retire after this season and A-Rod is getting old.. I'm currently looking at Starlin Castro, Jurickson Profar, Brett Lawrie as potential replacements. I'm also having doubts whether I should extend Cano. I don't wanna bury myself in another MM contract like we did with A-rod. Of course I'm trying to do a better job than my predecessor Cashman and learn from his mistakes.Comment

Kansas City Royals - 2014 - Spring Training Update
Off Season is over and Baseball has begun. Only move we made in free agency was sign Jose Veras. He will compete with Kelvin Herrera for the closer spot. Spring Training saw a few guys win spots. Christian Colon made the team out of ST. Will be a bench player for now. Wont hesitate to bring him in if Falu or Getz struggle at 2nd. Danny Duffy and Felipe Paulino both won a spot on the team, after not playing until september last year coming back from TJ surgery. Duffy made the rotation. While Paulino is in the bull pen as a long reliever.

Kansas City Royals - 2014 - April Update
Record - 12-8
2nd place AL central (1.5 GB)
First month of the season is over and it was a pretty good one for us. Went 12-8, And our Offense is on fire. Eric Hosmer is hitting .356 with 4 HR and 13 RBI. 4 Guys over .300. 6 over .280. Pitching hasn't been bad either. We currently have the 8th best ERA. Starters are 11-5 with a 3.63 ERA. Much better than this time last year.
But not everything about this month has been good. 2012 saw a bunch of our pitchers go down with TJ surgery. This year. Its calves. We had 2 guys in the minors go down with a torn calf in a week. Then Lorenzo Cain tears one. Out 1-2 months. I decided to not bring up Bubba Starling. Even though he is destroying AAA pitching right now. I moved Alcides Escobar to CF. And brought Christian Colon off the bench to play SS. Colon is hitting .400. Only 10 AB. But its a good start.
All in all its been a good month. And hopefully we get better as a team. And keep those Tigers from blowing it in the playoffs again.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Since I post my franchise in both the franchise forum and the dynasty thread, I won't go into detail as anyone can simply check it out. But in short, I'm 11-7 with my Bucco's right now, attempting a sweep of the Braves in today's game. Brandon Inge and Jeff Karstens have just been activated to the 25-man, while Charlie Morton and Francisco Liriano are on rehab assignments in AA Altoona and Jose Contreras is on rehab in A Bradenton. Check it out!Comment

Nunez is solid. I am happy so far...but he needs to train more on his defense.
3rd base will be a challenge. I am scouting hard for that position. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Kansas City Royals - 2013 - May Update
Record - 28-21
1st place AL central (2.5 Game Lead)
The injuries just keep coming. Cain still hasnt returned. Mike Moustakas broke his shin. Gone for 2 months at least. Christian Colon sprained his elbow the last week of the month. I haev quite a few guys playing secondary positions. I called up 2B Rey Navarro and LF Luis Durango. Navvaro is doing great. Hitting .357 with 1 HR and 7 RBI.
Even with all the injuries. The team has rallied and now leads the Central by 2.5 games after going 16-13 in May. When we get some players back. I have complete faith we can keep this lead and reach the playoffs.
Hitting has cooled down a bit. But pitching is still doing great. Have the 14th best ERA. But the current starters are phenomenal. They have a combined record of 22-11 with a 3.17 ERA. Felipe Paulino has been sent down to AAA. I called up John Lamb.
Lamb's 1st career start. Gives up 2 runs in the 1st. Proceeds to shut the mariners out the rest of the game. Strikes out 3. And gets a complete game on 82 pitches. Next start he goes 6 and gives up 1. He could be here to stay.Comment
