Yes it was. Wind was blowing out at the Yard, and my pitchers always seem to give up the long ball.

        Thanks in advance!
I'm actually doing better than I expected with my Mets franchise. I'm about 70 games in and eight games over .500. I play every sixth game. I'm about .500 with the games I play. I didn't force injuries to start the season, so playing with Santana and Francisco helps. I haven't made any trades yet or called up any major prospects. I'm getting close to calling up d'Arnaud.

So I changed my mind and decided to my franchise as my favorite team, Tapa Bay Rays. My goal is to do it as realistic as possible. For example, having trade some of my marquee(sp?) due to financial restraints. Should be fun & interesting. Probably gonna have to trade David Price, he's going to demand too much in free agency.

After a fast 10-2 start the wheels came off on my trip to Miami, as the Marlins swept us in a 3 game set. Pitching really struggled this series. Next it's off to New York for a 3 game series with the Mets. Oh and to top it off, Ian Desmond is out for 1-2 months with a torn calf. Hooray!!

Update in my Washington Nationals franchise:
I'm currently sitting at 21-10 (5.5 up of the mets). I WAS feeling the effects of an injured Harper and Zimmerman earlier, but my substitutes have really picked up the slack. Anthony Rendon (called up after Zim injury) is batting .341. Tyler Moore has also been good in LF with 4 HR and 9 RBI. but the main man has been Roger Bernadina. Dude is hitting .386 with 4 HR and 10 RBI and 4 SB. Ian Desmond has not been hitting for average (just a .234 hitter) but he has 5 HR and 20 RBI. Dan Haren and Jordan Zimmerman have been dominant while Strasburg has been just okay (though leading the league in SO). Soriano has been money throwing 12 innings (10 saves) and 0.00 ERA. I thought id hate playing with this team without Harper and Zimmerman, but this team is so deep that I'm still having fun.

Just finished me first season ever in the Show with the Brew Crew. Made some trades for Johan Santana and Brendan Ryan for his defense which actually took me all the way to a World Series win against the Athletics.

Going into the offseason I had to let Corey Hart go because he was demanding somewhere around 12 Million and I could not give up that much money.

Decided to sign some vets to fill out my roster to make another WS run:

Ben Zobrist (to man 1st with Hart gone)
Ryan Sweeney (good bench lefty bat)
Stephen Drew (good infield left bat)

Won our first game of the 2014 season against the Cards 12-1...it's gonna be a good year!

Btw I don't cheese at all. I do the "play 1 sim 5" technique so my team won a lot of games for me...which was surprising considering we had the third worst record about 2 months in.

                        Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

I have a question regarding a re-sign and I know you guys are very knowledgeable minds here so what better place to ask.

I am looking to re-sign Cano to a long term contract...he wants to stay in Toronto (according to my story), so I was looking at a 8-10 year deal. He is mashing so far in 1 month of the season batting over .400, 12HR and like 30 something RBI. Dude has been a terror.

What is a fair price value to sign him for. He makes 12 M this year so I was thinking maybe 15 for the next 3 years then down to 11 for 3 years and maybe 8-10 for the final 3 years giving him a 9yr/108M contract...Would this be to high/low or just right for Cano, and if you say high/low what are your suggestions for editing it. Toronto is famous for long term deals so why not do it for my best bat.

Thanks guys. If you want to check out my dynasty to get a better understanding of my lineup, or Cano's stats check it out (link in sig below).

As far as I know, you can't give guys contracts that have different money values for each year. They make whatever the yearly value is year after year until the contract is up.

You can pretty much give him any contract you want. I think it's actually kind of funny when people post "why would you want to pay him 15 million a year when he's 36" when realistically (unless you sim entire seasons at a time) you'll only get through a few seasons where he is at his prime anyways.

Mariners. Amazing farm system right now. Ranks #2 behind St. Louis for Overall depth.

Well knowing you are now playing all 162 games, I doubt you will ever make it to year 6-9. However if you are looking for a realistic salary and contract. I would say that should work.
