Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Started a Royals chise last night and absolutely ROCKED Chicago's Sale winning 10-2 for the first game of the season Butler went 3-4 a triple shy of the cycle with 4 RBIS
Simmed 5 and it turned out we were 5-1 with a team avg of .305!! Beastmode!!!
I play the next game and we get destroyed by the Twins, simmed the rest after it was 7-0 final score was 8-2.
End up losing 2 out of 3 to the Twins. Currently sitting at a cool 7-5 as we now head to Turner Field to take on the BravesComment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
ANGELS FRANCHISE
- Results against A's: Game 2 A's 3 - 4 Angels; Game 3 A's 2 - 8 Angels
GAME #10: RETURN OF THE BEASTS
The Los Angeles Angels received the Houston Astros to start a 3 game series.
Philip Humber (0-0) took the the mound for the Astros while Tommy Hanson (1-0) did it for the Angels.
- 2nd inn: Big inning for the Angels as they started the inning by a single to CF from Chris Iannetta. The first runs of the game came by the hand of Josh Hamilton, who hit a mammoth 2-run HR to RF to give an early 2-0 advantage. After Callaspo and Kendrick grounded out and struck out, respectively, Peter Bourjos doubled to LF and right after Mike Trout hits a 2-run HR shot to LF (his first of the season) to expand the advantage to 4-0.
- 3rd inn: Tommy Hanson has been on a roll, retiring 9 straight guys to start the game. He has not walked anyone yet, neither has allowed a hit. Perfecto through 3. However in the bottom of the third inning, Chris Iannetta doubled to left center for a two out double. Coming up was Josh Hamilton, who had just homered back at the previous inning. In the 11th pitch of the AB, Hamilton hits a hard line drive to RF. It is high!!! it is kinda far!! would it stay fair and be a HR?!?! it is?!?!?! DING!!!!! Another 2-run HR from Josh Hamilton as the ball hits hard the foul post!!! 6-0 Angels!
- 4th inn: Hanson continues retiring Astros as they were flies. Perfecto through 4 for him. Bottom of the 4th, Angels leading 6-0, Humber out and Brad Peacock takes the ball for the Astros. He makes Callaspo popped out and then walked Peter Bourjos. After a stolen base by Bourjos, Mike Trout crashes the ball into left center for a run scoring double. Next, Pujols lined to center for a single, bringing home Trout for 8-0 Angels. The next batter, Mark Trumbo, hits a big double to right center, scoring Pujols. And then, Iannetta hits a single to CF scoring Trumbo. It was, through 4 innings, Astros 0 - 10 Angels.
-Hanson did not stoped his dominance, continuing retiring Astros. In the 6th inning, however, Callaspo threw the ball high and away, thus ending the chances of a perfect game, but the No-No was still available. Unfortunately, in the next inning Rick Ankiel lines in the first pitch of the AB to center for the first Astro hit of the game, officially ending the No-No. Hanson, nevertheless, managed to retire in order the following players without allowing anymore hits. Top of the 9th inning, Hanson was still on the mound, trying to earn a complete game one-hit shutout game. That didn't happen, as once again Rick Ankiel hits a solo HR to RF to end the shutout. Hanson retired the following 3 to earn the W and a complete game.

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
MILWAUKEE BREWERS END APRIL 21-5
April was a strong start for the Brew Crew, going 21-5, with the hitting on fire and the pitching doing great, the Brewers are looking good!
Team Statistics:
BA - .274. 8th in the league. Extra notes: Team mangaging to be 8th in the league with Hart, Segura and Braun all in the .270's, all around good offense.
Runs - 14th in the league. 118. Extra notes: Being in the top half of the league is always a good thing.
Hits - 16th in the league with 238.
HRs - Tied for 9th with 31. Weeks yet to show all his power and we're still tied for 9th.
SBs - 6th in the league. Segura only has 2 SBs and we're 6th in the league, amazing.
ERA - 2nd with 2.56. How did this happen?
Complete Games - Not an important stat but we're tied for 5th and Gallardo has 2 CGs... just thought I should mention. We also lead the league with 6 shutouts.
Saves - 1st, 14. GO AXFORD. NO MESSING UP THIS SEASON! WOO!
Hits Allowed - 1st. Oh yeah... only 193!
Runs allowed - 2nd, only 71! Barely allow any HRs!
As you can see from the sample stats, the Brew Crew is rocking it up pitching wise.
Players of the month:
Yovani Gallardo - 5-0, 42 IP 0.86 ERA, 40 K's, 26 hits, 0.74 WHIP.
John Axford - 1.15 ERA, 14 SVs.
Nori Aoki - I think the .375 BA is enough to convince you he is in the player of the month catagory.
Goals/Transactions
1. Test the market for Lohse - As Lohse is getting older he is starting to decline. Sources say Lohse could be going anywhere, and the Brew Crew is looking for top notch relievers, a SP prospect and some infield depth.
2. Clear out pitching squad - With all the depth in pitching the Brewers have no clue what to do with it. Sources say the Orioles and Brew Crew are still in talks about Strop, and are looking for relievers and infield depth. Other then that no one is to sure what they're going to do.
3. Find a speedster and a fielder who can play anywhere - As the Brewers manager looked at his team the other day, sources say he found two problems. A) Betancourt is the only one who can play multiple positions off the bench but he isn't a great fielder. We need more quality fielders who player everywhere. B) We have way to many SPs.
Anyways, the Brewers are off the start May with a good feeling. Be excited for another good month Milwaukee and Milwaukee fans!

New York Mets Franchise:
Rotation:
Me (99)
Jon Niese
Matt Harvey
Shaun Marcum (Until Wheeler)
Dillon Gee
... I created myself as a 99 in order to stay interested in the franchise.
Lineup:
Jordany Valdespin - CF
Daniel Murphy - 2B
David Wright - 3B
Ike Davis - 1B
John Buck - C
Lucas Duda - LF
Kirk Niewenhuis - RF ( signed Grady Sizemore )
Ruben Tejada - SS
1st Series Recap -
Padres won the first two on back to back 5 run games. The Mets offense struggled and so did the bullpen. But... Game 3 Matt Harvey had electric stuff and gave up 2 in 7.2 innings. leading 4-2 in the 9th and Bobby Parnell blew the save.. Bottom of the 10th Jordany hit a walk-off.
Record: 1-2
2nd Series Recap -
Marlins came into town but the Mets kept the momentum off the walk-off and won 5-2 the 1st game for Parnells 1st save of 2013. The second game Dillon Gee had good stuff but Alvarez had better stuff and the Marlins rallied late to score off the struggling pen with a 3-2 victory. The rubber game of the series the Mets had their ace (Me) on the mound and coming off his Opening Day loss he came and had a complete game shutout. 3-0 win
Record: 3-3
... Mets head out for their first road series in Philadelphia. Offense is suspect and Pitching is doing better though. LGMComment

I'd have to look. They are slightly modified from default All-Star.. I use timing hitting and classic pitching. Send me a PM if you want them, and I'll send you what I have for sliders. Although they really don't vary much from default.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Just finished up game 1 of my Oakland franchise.
Very entertaining game. Even with throwing Brett Anderson I knew it would be tough to take on King Felix. I actually got up 2-0 thanks to a double play that produced a run and a Seth Smith solo shot. However I would wind up giving up 4 runs with Anderson with the big blow being a 2 run homer from Mikey Morse.
Cut the lead to 4-3 and in the 9th had 2 on and 2 outs and flew out to the wall with John Jaso.
Very entertaining game for my first game using TNK's slider set. Look forward to having a lot of fun with these.Student at the University of Kentucky...GO BIG BLUE

<table><td bgcolor=#000000>2013 - pittsburgh pirates - june update</td></table>
<table><td bgcolor=#000000>
June saw us improve a bit. But not quite enough to retake the lead in the Central. Worst part of the month was the very end. We were shut out in 4 of 6 and 3 straight at one point. We are still on pace for the 1st season over .500 since 1992.
In the first round of the draft we took a 20 year old right fielder named Rick Crocker. He is currently rated 67 overall with A potential. And is expected to make the reach the majors in 2015. But with his 74 contact rating vs righties. He will get a chance to join the club at some point in 2014. We also got an 18 year old 1B with A potential. His rating are a bit low. But if he reaches his potential he can be a great player. We got a 20 year old B potential SS. His stats are in the low 60's. But his fielding abilities might force us to rush him a bit.

Hoz and Moose ,
I like seeing the lefties doing good. Plus they in a lefty park. Glad the game reflects this.
The immediate impact from the draft picks are perfect. Really good draft for you and it's not the tradition ace SP AND great bat we will see in 3-4 years.
I'm guessing Hosmer grew on you from KC ?? Hope that picks up but he has been bad in the WBC and for Kc.
Liking the wandy and Oswalt platoon. Who says they gotta be young lolI play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Game 2 of my Oakland franchise and I was able to get in the win column with a 3-1 win over the Mariners.
However I think I only had 3 or 4 hits. Definitely a challenge so far with these sliders but I enjoy it. One of my hits was a 2 run homer with Cespedes after a walk in the first innings, and then I scored off an error in the 8th for insurance.Student at the University of Kentucky...GO BIG BLUE

Hosmer just needs to play everyday. We have had so many games postponed no one can get a rhythm. I really wish George Brett was our hitting coach so he could help Hosmer and Moustakas.Last edited by HozAndMoose; 05-07-2013, 06:28 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I have 2 more wins then the real life Red Sox, sitting at 23-11. Felix Doubront got his 6th win today and improved to 6-1. Jackie Bradley is on fire, batting over .300. I seem to have success with him if i put him in the 9th spot. When Ortiz was eligible to come off the DL it was going to be very hard to send him down.
Gomes ended up getting injured with a shoulder tear, out 2-3 months. After Ortiz came off the DL and was tearing it up with over a .400 average, he gets injured with a fractured forearm, out 2-3 months. With that, Bradley stays on the team, and taking Ortiz's spot I called up C Ryan Lavarnway. I moved Salty to the DH spot with Ross as my primary catcher. Lavarnway will start against lefties as well as day games after night games.
I also have a 9 game winning streak with the Pawsox. The 7th game I won, it went into 11 innings. My created self came up with a runner on first and got the winning hit. I was also the player of the game. Very cool.Last edited by redsoxfan25; 05-07-2013, 07:59 PM.World Series Champions: 2004, 2007, 2013

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Just finished season one with the Braves, it ended in true heartbreaking fashion. I simmed the last week of the season and ended up losing the NL East to Washington by half a game, but snagged the wildcard which set up a game vs LA dodgers in the playoffs.
In the wildcard playoff game I was down 3-2 in the bottom of the 8th and Justin Upton hit a solo shot to tie it up. In the 9th Kimbrel gave up 2 hits. The third batter broke his bat on an inside pitch and the ball rolled down the line, no play anywhere so the bases were loaded. I struck out the next two batters to bring up Matt Kemp. Worked him to a full count and threw a fastball on the corner, which was in the zone, but with the variable strike zone umpire it was called a ball and I walked in the winning run. Still hurts
Heyward really broke out hitting .281 with 38 homersComment
