Why is that funny? If you play with a team that doesn't have the real manager it would be annoying to me. I'm sure Pittsburgh fans weren't too happy that their manager was a different race in 2011 since Clint Hurdle didn't manage in 2010.

I didn't comment on whether or not the thread was valid. I was merely pointing out to the poster above that it is annoying if your team doesn't have their real manager regardless of the reason. I know how the players association works...

I probably won't play my Reds in a Franchise at first...but in another thread we were posting what changes we'd make to the Reds and I think my answer now is yours. I may fast forward to the end of the season and boot Dusty. Maybe I can send him up north so Tribesalive can have him :P

Are there really that many people who think that having accurate managers for your team is not important? Also, maybe I am misunderstanding Russell, but why doesn't he just come out and say that they will not be able to add him in roster updates if that is the case? If there are MLB union reasons why he cannot be in this game at all, then why not state it clearly instead of with veiled reposnes?

Again, I am not trying to be trouble, but Russell's responses have been vague? right? Perhaps purposely? Am I missing something?

Anyway....can't wait until 5 o'clock to head home and check it out....though honestly I am discouraged that my Tribe will likely have a generic manager. Oh well. There's always something!

Anytime something like this happens, I always tell people to just pretend it's happening to their own team. What if Yankees didn't have Girardi as manager, or Scioscia wasn't manager of Angels? Those fans would obviously be real upset about it.

I personally don't think it's important as there are many fake managers that are probably better than the real ones in-game.

Edit: Should clarify that I'd replace a real manager in franchise for a fake one..

It's not about if fake manager are better/worse than real manager in franchise mode or anything. It's in terms of gameplay where a teams manager isn't even in the game. So all the cutscenes(when the game intros first happen,dugout cutscenes,pitching changes,game win/loss scenes) show just some random generic manager instead of the guy who's actually the manager.

So then what you are saying to myself and all the other Indians fans that play the SHOW game is that Terry Francona WILL NOT be in the game this year then correct?

It would be nice if we could get past the riddles and just have a straight mature answer. I'm not being negative or mean to anyone here. I respect everyone and especially you Ramone. I just want to know as a fan for a game I have been waiting all year for- and since the news broke if in the " game " I would be able to play under Terry Francona as a manager?

That would seriously be unbelievable if you have 28 real managers of the MLB teams and miss on putting 2 in that are incredibly well known.

I would assume its because there is no answer to your demands.

I doubt the managers union is as cut and dry as the mlbpa.

And frankly, it's just not that important (and yes it has happened to me).
