Somebody help out a noob on his phone trying to navigate a 1000 pages on this forum. What's the answer? Will pics be added at all? Missing managers?

I find the pics odd this year. I know there is a cut off date but there seems to be more without a pic than usual. Mark Reynolds was signed before Swisher yet he doesn't have a pic but Swisher does. Handful of guys that had pics with Indians last year that don't this year..

If they are in the minors, they will not have pictures. That is one of the features this year. If players change teams, even within the organization, they will have a cyberface instead of a picture.

Lot's of the players in the minors who played in the majors will have pics if you call them up to their MLB team. For example with the Indians if you call up guys like: Tomlin, Kluber, Carassco, Bauer, Gomes, Phelps, Carrera, etc, the game will give them a real photo rather than cyber generated one. This isn't the case with all minor leaguers but for most of them it is as long as their still in the same organization as last year.

Another example: Ryan Madson was in the minors (injury), and he had the cyberface picture. Once I put him on the MLB team, it changed to his real-life picture.

Once the Roster Vault exploit was discovered in 2011, I remember eveyone was very excited when SCEA mentioned that they were planning to implement the cyberface portrait feature into the game...

...however I also remember them saying that we would be able to toggle it on or off.

Right now, it seems like most people complaining or confused about it... can you actually toggle it off?

Personally I like it. The cyberfaces in '13 are rendered a lot better than they were in '11 (the last Show game I played), so while they do stick out a bit, it's not nearly as bad as I expected a few years ago...

they just need to make them a bit bigger

Oh I understand now. That's actually pretty cool, but still a bummer that I have to use cyber faces all year for guys like Michael Bourn and Mark Reynolds. Thanks for the info.

I think its perfectly valid to be upset/disappointed if your teams manager isn't in the game. They are incorporated into the presentation. So I see nothing wrong with wanting them in the game.

I also think that if SCEA could put them in they would.

With that said, I'm gonna close this up. It will only cause trouble going forward.
