Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
Just to throw in my 2 cents. I like the change, it has actually brought me back to RTTS after 2 years off.
But one thing that people ask for year after year is MORE REALITY.
Make it more like a real game and less like a video game.
Thats exactly what SCEA did here. They made a mode that simulates you actually being on the field playing the game.
If you were on the field, you would not hear the announcers in the booth.
All you would hear is the PA, the crowd and the players/coaches around you.
Thats what the new RTTS is designed to give you. That ,as close as can be, on field experience.
If you dont want dead silence during your HR trot, then add HR music to your RTTS team or your player.
I say, Well done SCEA!Comment

Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
Bottom line, give us the option to choose the presentation. It will satisfy both the people who like it and those who hate it.Last edited by kilmar1; 03-06-2013, 11:45 AM.Comment

Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
But you don't only hear the PA, crowd and player/coaches. You still get commentary while you're on the field, at bat and on base. If they wanted to give you the on the field experience, why would you hear Steve Lyons talking about how you never looked back during the steal you just made? Or Steve Lyons talking about that home run you just hit while you're rounding the bases? Or Steve Lyons talking about how you're on fire going 2 for 2 in the game after a double in the gap?
Then you need to "pump up the volume" because I hear mine just fine.
As for Lyons talking about you, THATS for the people who still want commentary. You get commentary about YOUComment

Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
What is the harm with giving us the choice? Granted they may not be able to do it this year, but please for the love of God give us a CHOICE for 14.Last edited by kilmar1; 03-06-2013, 11:53 AM.Comment

Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
Sorry, I did misread it. But again, as for Lyons, they left that in so you can hear commentary about you.
Its basically the best of both worlds.
Honestly, I only play RTTS situations with my guy, so I could care less about the commentary, even the ones about me.

Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
This thread is hilarious. People are upset that the commentary is gone and they should be. In the past if you didn't like or want the commentary you always had the option to turn the commentators off.
The hilarious part is the absolute arrogance of people here telling others they should "just suck it up" or "this is more real and sim so it's better". Telling people how THEY should enjoy the game is just unbelievable.
They have taken the option of how you want to experience the game away. That is a problem. Even if you prefer the way it is set up now, as a gamer how can you not be turned off by the removal of an option.Comment

Options are always great things, but that makes the game harder to maintain so there will always be some choices made that could leave one side unsatisfied.
But if enough people indeed do not like the new presentation, I am sure SCEA will take that feedback seriously. All I was saying personally was that there still is a lot to be enjoyed if you don't get too caught up by the lack in one aspect, and so you guys should give this a try a bit longer than just dismissing after only a few hours of gameplay.Comment

Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
is there a player lock option in Franchise? I just want to play baseball down on the field with one player, as this is how I like to play all of my sports games. I like to be part of a team, not the whole team.
RTTS used to satisfy this, but the "whoosh" camera zooms is really killing any and all immersion for me...I guess I am the only one (I can actually live with the awkward commentary no problem)...
Didn't they say you would have an option to sim immediately to next appearance like previous years if you didnt want to watch the simulator screen? I didn't see anything in the options, just the ability to push a button on the sim screen itself which doesn't really help much at all..Comment

Re: Change New RTTS Presentation
I swear that so many people don't read info before a game comes out. They already said I believe in a video for RTTS that the commentary would be taken out. The whole point of RTTS is to play from a PLAYER'S PROSPECTIVE! Players don't hear the commentary in real life during a game. But I guess you can't fix stupid can you....Comment

In that sim screen there is an option to complete the sim to your next appearance with the Circle Button.Comment

But if your going to take out commentary and play from a players perspective, then you better add player commentary, such as player interactions like you would hear from a players perspective!!
Cant fix stupid with stupid.Comment
