True. It could be just plain bad luck.

How about hitting on legend and moving the pitch speed up to at least 6?

So far through 1 game and 2 innings I have hit 4 homeruns, 3 of them solo (so I've scored only 5 runs). I've hit only 4 or 5 singles, 0 doubles and 0 triples. So basically a lot of all or nothing so far.

Middle infielders are lonely in this game as there aren't many grounders hit and the ball rarely travels to the gaps as every out recorded is usually F7, F9, or 3U. I might have to move Cutch to Left just to get defensive put outs.

I don't know what teams you've been playing with but I usually hit nothing but grounders. Sharply hit grounders but grounders none the less and I've gotten the CPU to hit a lot of grounders too. It seems the only balls I've seen hit in the air are homeruns. Very few fly ball outs in my games so far.

I play on Veteran and can't hit very well. I'm slightly late on just about every fastball. I can't decide if I just suck or it's input lag from my TV.

I know you weren't talking to me personally but I wasn't complaining. Just stating that all my runs had come on homeruns and I hadn't been able to score any other way yet. But I finally had a break through inning against Justin Verlander of all people. I scored 4 runs without hitting a homerun. I finally hit a couple of doubles.

To hard to hit, to easy to hit. The fact is this game actually caters very well to everyone and they are called sliders. My advice is to use them to either make it easier or more difficult. Pitches to slow ? speed them up. Fielders have cannon arms? lower arm strength. Too many HR's lower power and solid hits. etc, etc, etc.

They are there for a reason. The default settings can't work for everyone.

If your hitting the ball to the left or right it means your timings off just a bit. A perfectly timed hit baseball should go directly up the middle, right back at the pitcher.

Work on your timing a bit more? I was early the first couple games and still am at times but the more I play the better my timing gets.

                              Re: Hitting is too easy

I don't think the hitting is really any easier or harder but I do notice that the timing window is opened up a lot. I'm rarely striking out (fouling lots of pitches off). Of course, the buffet of slider choices is endless and makes the game moldable to the last detail.

I think a lot of the questions surrounding hitting has to do with the type of hitting you choose. I use zone hitting so I'm moving the PCI with my left thumb at the same time as trying to time the swing with a button press of my right thumb. The hitting isn't any easier in my opinion, but I think this is a challenging method to hitting. I've already lowered pitch speed two notches and dropped the fielder reaction and speed by three notches.

I also customized one of the catcher cams so that it's lower and zoomed out to allow me to read the pitches better. So far it's been beautiful. The pitchers are painting corners one second and missing the zone the next. The variance in the gameplay is beautiful and I think you just have to play around with the settings for the type of hitting you do.

It is easier...but as far as hit variation, I've seen everything. Grounders, balls slicing foul that spin back fair, bloopers, his to every area of the field in about 5 games and 4 RTTS games. Not sure why some of you aren't seeing grounders or flyballs to center. The hit variation is the best it's ever been imo.
