    Runners slowing down rounding third

    I noticed more than once last night while playing, and confirmed it by replaying it, that my base runners were slowing down when they rounded third.

    I use classic baserunning, and usually use L1 for most running instances (i.e. scoring a runner from second on a single). With just using the L1 I noticed it more than one where the runner was full speed, but upon reaching third the runner loses all his speed, almost pauses and has to get back up to full speed on the run home.

    I did use the button configuration to tell the runner on second to go home one time and it seemed to work, so I will try to make a conscious switch, but was wondering if anyone else noticed this as well?

    Yes I noticed the issue when using the L1 button on classic baserunning.

      Noticed it at least 3 times rounding 3rd. This game is awesome but needs a patch ASAP

        Glad to know I'm not the only one. It cost me three runs last night where I should have been safe (or had a play at the plate) but was out by yards.

        Along with the change to guess pitch, this may cause me to return a very good game.

          Is there a big report entered for this?

          I noticed it too lastnight. It's really making it difficult to score from second base on singles.

            Are you holding the "run" button? The runner will automatically stop at a base if you are not constantly holding the button. That cost me plenty of runs last year.

              There is no bug here, this year has a new momentum based base running animation core. If you don't send him to the next base before the halfway mark runners will not make a smooth rounding path. They will need to slow down and gather themselves since they are running from a straight line.

                Had it happen two more times and was pretty sure I sent him home right away. The animation slows down. The runner doesn't round third and slow down and to go back, like they do realistically at other bases, then try to start again. His whole motion slows down as he rounds.

                I meant to record it but didnt. I will next time.

                  I don't know if it is because this, but I get thrown out at home all the time. Way too hard to score from 2nd on a basehit. Even with an good speed guy. They will seem to be well on their way.. and then the throw, and my runner isn't even close.

                      just press triangle and the down arrow on number pad if you have a runner and 2nd and got a base hit.

                      compared to last year, i think you have to keep holding L1 button for them to run without stopping. or else i think they stop at the base and you have to hit L1 again for them to keep going, which kills their speed momentum.

                      talking about classic controls.

                        I love the new baserunning momentum. You have to decide early on if you are going for the extra base early on. Runner on second and a line drive to center, you have to make the decision right then, am I sending him home or not. Much more realistic, imo.

                          Is it exactly halfway to the next base? I can see why people are having trouble scoring from second if the ball is hit, they know they want to send the runner, but he's already half way to third.

                              Does the CPU often not "send him to the next base before the halfway mark" as well, at least on base hits with a runner on second? Or is it all play-contingent?
