It's up to you though, you can go through and make all the changes if you wish, but I'm pretty sure the computer will handle this for themselves if you're only controlling one team. It might not be accurate to real life, but odds are the computer will make changes during the year and things won't remain true to real life anyways in the long run
I'm wondering how long the corrected lineups will last. I would think that the computer generates it's own from day one? And once this is done it shouldn't matter anymore if they were correct or completely messed up at the beginning I'd assume. Pretty sure there are a lot of people having experience with this, since many run a 30 team franchise to keep the correct lineups as well..

Always tough for me in the past. I was waiting for OSFM to start RTTS, so now I'm ready to dive in... if I can decide on what position to play.

Literally just debating this in my head so I came on here. This was all the justification I needed! Going to get started tonight and not looking back! I won't go in the rosters section of the Show either so my temptations won't wander.

To use a word ive not used for years...

          EXACTAMUNDO!

Things will veer away from reality very quickly anyway, so im well past the stage of being annoyed if i see a lineup or rotation not set exactly how it is in real life - i dont want to mimic real life, but let the virtual GM's do their own thing and enjoy my virtual MLB world

That is what 30 team control is for

I don't use it to take control of all 30 teams setting their lineups and stuff. I simply use it to block ridiculous trades. I mean if I'm bored I might check on some lineups and change them to what seems right, but generally no.

What exactly are the pitch edits? Correct pitches for minor league pitchers or do more players require edits, are they all wrong/the same in the first version?
That is actually the main reason for me to hold off on starting my franchise..

I don't even wait for the rosters. Once the first real patch drops, it's go time.

When rebuilding the Astros I like having their actual farm system (as well as some of the hyped guys around the league). That is why I waited for the full minors this year. Last year I think I restarted for every new roster including Scott's roster near the end of the season and then I stopped playing lol.

                      Funny you post this.

I was JUST now starting a franchise mode. I looked up real-life injury data, started a 30-team control franchise, and was going through and adding all the real-life injuries, one at a time. In case you weren't aware, that takes a very long time.

I got through about 7 teams, and then I thought to myself, "You know... I don't really even give a ****"

So I backed out, started a new franchise where I just control one team, the Mets. Gave Johan Santana his injury and moved on with my life. Ready to play the opening day game. Who knows what the CPU did with its teams but whatever.

I have been following this method for years.......Just Play! This game is so deep that you can actually derail yourself from actually playing the game on the field, which is the best part!

                          Re: Lessons learned...go and play!

I just spent about 4 hrs setting injuries n 25 man rosters for each team before I even started my first game!! Smh

I got half way through the 25 man rosters and said screw the CPU will figure it out.

Now I'm just gonna do pitch edits for each team before I play a series against them since I'm the only one seeing these pitches.

But I'm going in full speed now hopefully getting 3 seasons in (bout how long it'll take before the mets get good) and using slightly easier sliders so I can get more games in rather than being drained after one game

Baseball is back and osfm is here I'm ready to go

                            Same here.

Once the game launches, I play just enough exhibition games to determine my difficulty levels and interfaces, and then it's time to roll.

17 games in already and having a blast.

Now, since I already have a legit Franchise under way, like usual, I'll probably download OSFM and maybe start a MOM/CPU/or back up "play" Franchise to use when I need a change a pace from the one I'm currently running.

My days of waiting are long gone and I actually enjoy the series now more than I ever have. And there's no pressure either (wondering about the right sliders or having to force myself to "wait" on an update, or the right roster set, etc). And I don't feel hurried to get a zillion games in either (trust me, i play a ton of games ). So much so that some nights (if I don't have enough time for a full 9 innings) I'll just meander around the Franchise menus setting my scouting, coming up with wishlists for trades, or re-adjusting my MiLB lineups.

I love every minute of it.

Terriffic post OP. I have for a long time been not playing the show but waiting for this update and that update, tweaking with sliders. Well enough is enough, just started my Indians franchise with the OSFM roster. Not an indians fan, Phillies fan here, but Brett Myers is one of my favorite players so I decided and the Indians have sweet uniforms so I decided to play with them. I actually played a spring training game, first time ever, and it was tons of fun.

I just made a few tweaks from default All-Star and wow am I having fun. The spring training game against the Reds was a 5-4 game and it was a lot of fun. I use zone hitting and meter pitching and if it gets too easy well I'll just tweak sliders. I'm just going to play and see where this chise goes.

first thing i did last nite after the rosters dropped, was to check the Astros minor-league system and noticed Ruiz wasn't there along with McCullers being a RP...for some, this can be OK but for somebody with OCD like myself, imma force myself to wait for at least the OD set
