Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
The only real fix is manually lowering ratings. Of course this only works for franchise, not Road to the Show.Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
Is the game generating and is the CPU drafting enough high potential pitchers?
I'm wondering what would happen if doing a 30-team control Franchise, if the user made sure not to pass on the good pitching prospects what would happen?
I'm not saying this is what's happening, I'm just curious if the CPU tends to draft an inordinate amount of position players versus how the stock/OSFM rosters balance them.Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
I think the game just generates way too many good hitters. I tracked two drafts in my 30-team franchise, and there were approximately 3x more A potential position players than pitchers (37 vs. 12).Is the game generating and is the CPU drafting enough high potential pitchers?

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
So is this issue fixable? And how is it affected Franchise mode? I don't plan on getting to 2020+ anytime soon, so I feel like I should be alright for now. Just don't want to be two or three years down the road and having teams with ERAs over 6 or 7.Writer for Operation Sports

37 vs 12 per draft, or those are totals from two drafts? Either way they too many given there are no busts.Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
Anyone know offhand how many of the 50 (if I remember correctly) OSFM A potential players are pitchers?
3:1 seems like a lot and seems to me an easy answer to this problem. Is that ratio reflective of real life?Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
That seems like it could be an easy fix. I wonder what things would look like if we just edit down 9-10 A potential batters in each draft. Something like a -15 in each category...maybe?Prototype Supreme

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
After comparing the rosters of 2013 and 2021 the problem is a truly broken progression system. Here you go this is players for all teams currently having the rating 90-99.
2013 OSFM V1
Pitchers:52
Position Players:49
Total:101
2021
Pitchers: 91
Position Players: 104
Total: 195
This broken progression system also explains the broken budget system. As better rated players ask for money from the teams and all budgets increase.
2013
Baltimore budget: total 73.50
player 47.52
2021 Baltimore budget : Total 128.41
Player 105.11
2013 cards budget 118.50
2021 cards budge 177.03
Pirates 2013 57 million
Pirates 2021 124.67
Red Sox 2013 127 million
Red Sox 2021 216.23 million
Everything has doubled.Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
Oops, I wasn't clear when I posted that. That was cumulative for the two drafts.
And yeah, 18 new A potential hitters every year is absurd.Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
The only thing left to do now is to log how many players at each are at the A90-99, B80-89, C70-79, level in OSFM 2013. After the total count is complete, switch all players to manual training after each season before the off-season and begin adjusting players to keep it at that level.Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
Hope they will get a out a patch for this. Not sure we will see another patch for 13 since they are busy building 14 for the ps4.Originally posted by bxgoodsThey had the same problem in 2011 when the game generated too many A potential pitchers.
They winded up fixing it in a patch later on, but that patch probably won't come out till the end of May.Comment

Re: Unrealistic stats continuing
I think the best way to do things would be to turn training off for everybody. From there you would probably want to make sure the draft insists of just 10-11 total A potential players each year. The best way to do that would be to randomly select the extra A guys and 'bust' them out of the league. The easiest way would be to change their age to 45.Prototype Supreme
