The problem is not that the ceiling for hitters is higher then pitchers. The problem is that the progression needs a re-tool. Pitchers have to improve in too many categories to be effective where as a hitter really only needs to progress in about 4 to be a really good player. Example: If the pitchers slash nine categories (H/9, BB/9 etc.) are all rated high but his repetoire (Velocity, break control. This dictates how effective fastballs, sliders, curveballs etc.) is not so good he will get hit all over the ball park. Likewise if his pitches are absolutely nasty but his slash /9's are garbage the same will happen.
The game needs to be programmed to incorporate production graded on a curve for pitchers. Im just not seeing pitchers progress into superstars like hitters.
