If that's not referring to a comeback code, I don't know what is. Give it whatever name you want, but it's the same thing, and definitely not true.

Now let's not derail this thread anymore... thanks.

      Ahem

I heard this was this great baseball franchise called MLB The Show and that some people were disappointed by it.
      Is that true?????
If so, we should discuss that in a thread somewhere.

If you're having issues with the CPU coming back and beating you in the late innings, I'd suggest being quick to pull the trigger on a tiring starter, a reliever who walks 1-2 or gets shelled for a couple of hard hits in an inning, etc.

That sounds simple, but I do it and it helps.

I also have made a rule that I see 3 pitches if at all possible before I swing. The more pitches you see, the better your chance of getting a good one to hit and staying consistent in scoring.

If I'm getting beat I often get impatient and lost at-bats late in the game. Forcing myself to adhere to this strategy helps combat that and gives me the chance to put together strong innings as the game wears on.
I'll take 2-3 pitches as well, but I still pay close attention to where the ball is going. If I see a ball coming in my wheelhouse, I'm swinging at it in certain situations (leading off an inning or with two outs and no one on base). I've hit 2 HR's my last two games on first pitches.

That actually wasn't referring to comeback at all, which is why it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the original post. If you guys want to assume I'm a one-trick pony that only wants to complain about that, knock yourself out, but the fact remains that the game generates rallies unrealistically, whether you're up by 3 or down by 8.

I was not disappointed at all by this years game. Is it perfect, not yet, but with the little steps this game is taking every year, I can see it getting there. Some little things, like fielding and the CPU base runners sometimes having insight into the future , I would imagine will get better with the new gen of consoles. As for now, this is the only sports game that I play year round.

The biggest disappointment is when a ball goes right threw an infielders glove or a dribbler somehow bounces past the infielder and goes for a hit. It's even more frusterating when you end up losing the game on a play like this. I turned the game off after it happened to me I was so frusterated!

I am more frustrated this year that I am without a difficulty level. In the past I was able to reside on HOF and adjust to offer a great challenge. This year HOF is too easy and I cannot find a comfort level on Legend. I am currently between the 2 of them. Hopefully in the future we can get an option to have sub difficulty levels available on each main difficulty setting to combat a situation like this.

And sometimes it's just not your night and nothing works.

                    That's the game.

I gave up 3 runs on errors (two were considered unearned - those were two that scored when my SS airmailed the 2B trying to start the 6-4-3).

Put me in an early 3-0 hole, wore down my SP and eventually lost 7-6 in extras.

                      Yep.
I just watched Game 6 of the 1986 World Series on Youtube the other day.

Clemens....untouchable for 5 innings. The Mets literally couldn't even pull a FOUL ball off of him.
They manage to "suddenly" knock him off balance and tie the game....
Errors on both sides that lead to runs....Both on very easy plays...
In extra innings the Sox score two to go ahead.....
Then....in the bottom of the frame for the Mets..
Out...Out.....and suddenly...single....single...single....wild pitch....and you know the most famous boot of all time....

                      It happens.

Totally. I've dominated for 6-7 innings and then fallen completely apart, like to the tune of 5 runs in an inning. Or I've been down 4 and pulled out 6 runs in the last 2-3 innings.

Over 162 games, lots of stuff happens.

I hate to say it but I was disappointed with this game as well. In fact, I couldn't get past 3 weeks into my franchise and traded the game. The thing that killed it for me was some weird bug where when I go to catch a fly ball, my outfielder would just bolt to the left. It was as if I just slammed my joystick to the left. The ball that would have been an out now lands and scores runs. This happened like 6-7 times within the 3 franchise weeks. Yeah, and the double play thing messed it up for me too.

Huge fan and I've been buying every year since the 989 days and this was the quickest I've gotten rid of the game. But I can't wait to play on the PS4. Really miss my baseball fix. And this isn't to offend anyone as I think that Russell and Co. do a absolutely fantastic job.

The simplest thing I can do is just list my disappointments and hope I'm not the only one who complains about such things
                            • Trade Logic with OSFM rosters is horrendous, thousands of ridiculous trades a season makes teams look like fantasy draft teams by year 3 and I apoligize I am too lazy for 30 Team Control
                            • Sometimes, not saying its rigged, but after a few random 5-10 game losing streaks of putting me from first to third in the division its just frustrating and unfortunately must I say rather unrealistic to happen against teams like the Twins and Astros
                            • Player progression which has been stated numerous times but I can live with it I guess
                            • Drafting, yes it may be new and its not terrible but I can draft blue chip after blue chip and sign undrafted As and Bs and be stacked within 5 years
                            • Overall averages on teams shoot way up overtime definitely with SPs
                            • If a players salary outnumbers another you want to trade for by 10K you usually still can't swing the trade

I love love love this game but this was something I honestly just needed to let out so I do apologize for the complaints but I hope they don't go unnoticed

Re: Was this years game a disappointment for anyone else?

I utterly love this year's version... but I only play offline season mode with pure analog hitting and classic pitching, so I don't know anything about franchise and its flaws and or the new pitch speed with batting with timing.

In MLB12... pretty much all I did was sit on fastballs because I couldn't hit anything that broke out of the zone using pure analog, especially sliders. Even when I set the pitch speed slider to zero I just couldn't get the timing right no matter what and just did my best to ignore outside pitches all together. But in MLB13... I now have enough time to read and react to different types of pitches and pitch locations... it is just so much more fun.

Also... a few little things that make me love MLB13 way more than last year. I utterly love the Braves throwback jerseys... especially the blue ones that Dale Murphy and Bob Horner used to wear. I also like that the Braves alternate red home jerseys are more of a bright red this year... almost fluorescent... like how it is supposed to be; last year it was a darker shade of red. Also I like how the Braves sign in centerfield is always lit up now. I pretty much always just play with the Braves, so little stuff like this are a big deal for me.

There's nothing better than baseball. I love the fact that theres so many games so when previously mentioned things happen, its all apart of the game! Things happen like that all the time in the bigs!

Plus it's nearing August, theres just something about the dog days that I can't stop playing this game.. Also think of it this way; would you rather play this years game, or would you want to play mlb 2k13??
