Mid game updates on trades, players getting injured would be cool too although not sure if even possible, probably not.

FIFA (at least on "next-gen" consoles) has an announcer who breaks in midgame to update scores and penalties in other games around the league so I would imagine that it is technically possible for them to add this in.

How easy it would be is another question entirely, but I do think it would add something. I also really like how the announcers in FIFA will single out a player during the pre-game and talk about him if he is unhappy with the team, a new signing, put up for transfer, or contemplating retirement. It helps to add to the feel a bit and I would love to hear them talk about the fact that I just put my pitcher on the trading block and discuss whether it will shake his confidence in the upcoming game.

In the PS4 discussion thread, the idea of user-created DLC has been brought up. In the case of things like uniforms, logos, etc, would Sony be allowed to have that option in the game? Is that something prohibited by the style guide?

Good question, but highly doubt we will see a uniform creator with existing teams with SCEA having to follow the style guide.

Let's hope that turns out to be wrong. By chance I found a thread from 2010 where someone suggested they allow for "mix and match" (different hat, jersey, and pants combo) and that got dismissed as a violation of the style guide. But then next year it was in the game.

That was 2010.................this is 2014 times are different. Like I said as long as they have to follow the guide I'm pretty sure they can't create a uniform for an existing team.................that would defeat the purpose of the guide to begin with.

No, but it limits SCEA and what they can do and MLB would probably shut that down real quick like they do with a lot of things.

I don't suspect SCEA will be willing to play along, considering the path of EA's NCAA series.

If anything it would be like Madden's owner mode. You can move a team and keep existing logo, name, and unis, or change the name completely with different logos.

If that's all they wold be allowed to do, they might as well not even bother. If only someone could write MLB and tell them that stuff like this is ruining the video game experience.

May as well wait till Selig is miles behind the rear view mirror; he's about as effective as a screen door on a submarine.

I like to think he's the cause of some of The Show's current issues as well.

All the "we aren't allowed to do that" stuff? I'd wager that a good 80% of that is directly because of Selig.

He's done an okay job as a commissioner all things considered, but he's way too conservative and old-fashioned. That's never a good attitude for business, especially not in the 21st century.

I think there should be more realistic injuries. Like collisions, hit by pitch injuries, pitchers getting hit by the ball, stuff of that sort. Too often I've seen a pitcher get hit with a bullet to watch him shake his magical arm for five seconds after he was hit in the face, & all of a sudden he's fine lmao I love the show, Im 100% sure it's going to be the best sports game of 2014!

Well I think he's stepping down after this year, so maybe we'll get it in 2015.

I understand following the style guide, but I don't believe that any orders have been handed down that says the SCEA team can't allow user created jerseys.

The conversation got started with the presumption that they could add more "uniform slots" on next gen. What always held the jerseys back in the past was the style guide and the amount of slots that were available.

If there was more room for more jerseys, I don't see why they couldn't allow some user created jerseys. The feature is already essentially there with diamond dynasty. It would be great if they brought it over to franchise mode and allows us to create a few extra jerseys, with the team logo of course.
