Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I don't know anything about the confidence resetting after a save (I've saved games and resumed and it doesn't look much different for either my or the CPU's pitchers)
But if it reset a high confidence pitcher - I'd expect it would be more unpredictable, yeah, because he's far less likely to just get good results due to confidence. Same true for one with barely any confidence - it would be more unpredictable because the pitcher wouldn't get bad results due to having very low confidence.
The most unpredictable is when it's around the middle to maybe 2/3's full, imo, because that's where it's more on ratings and your performance and the randomness of baseball (and MLB13) itself.
High and low confidence start to become very dominating factors, which, imo, increases predictability because a type of result becomes much more certain.Last edited by KBLover; 12-18-2013, 04:29 PM."Some people call it butterflies, but to him, it probably feels like pterodactyls in his stomach." --Plesac in MLB18Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
Another thing I keep forgetting about is this: why on earth is the cpu making the decision about who makes the final cut for my 25-man roster? We have a full spring training, the ability to sign, draft, and release players, and yet it's not my final decision who makes the opening day roster?
Sure, you can override the cpu's decision by wasting an option, but this has to go...Comment

BEFORE opening day, you must re-assign players to your minor league teams.
As per MLB rules...any player on the 40 man roster following spring training and then sent to the minors must use an option year.
This has to stay.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I think I've mentioned these before, and there are a lot of them, but I would like to see:
1.) The ability to put a position player in to pitch without having to pinch hit for the DH or something. Like if I'm in a blowout or a very extra innings game (16+ innings for example) and don't want to have to use the next day's SP or force a reliever to throw six innings. This happened to me in a previous incarnation of MLB the Show; my closer had to go six innings in a 21 inning game and he was out of commission for the next three games.
2.) The ability for position players to switch position to pitcher (either SP or RP/CL), and vice versa in all modes. I'm thinking this might be cool in RTTS mode, particularly if you are a position player who is terrible at hitting and wants to try something else.
3.) The ability for SP to switch "position" to RP/CL and vice versa in all modes.
4.) The ability to have retired players go into the coaching/managing/etc. pool.
5.) An owner mode. Or at least an option to bring back the features in franchise that were taken out for 2013, like stadium/facility upgrades, travel, advertisements, and other budgetary things for example.
6.) More ejections and the ability to argue with umpires. I seem to recall a different MLB game (not sure which one) that gave the player an option to have his or her manager argue close calls with the umps.
7.) Semi-related to #6, but "brawls" or brushbacks that could lead to ejections and suspensions or fines. Maybe if your player gets beaned he gets an option to charge the mound and risk ejection/suspension and punishment. (I get why brawls might be difficult to do and that MLB probably doesn't want them.)
8.) I'd like RTTS to be a little more "fun" to play. I really like what EA NHL did with their Be a Pro/Live the Life series and I would like to see something similar in RTTS. Maybe a new career mode, or an enhanced RTTS mode? I'd like to be able to do something with the money my player makes over the course of his career. It doesn't even have to be used for off-the-field stuff such as houses/cars/etc. Maybe your player can buy more/upgrade to better equipment or buy training points with the money he earns.
9.) I'd like the ability to reject/accept trades in RTTS. I know it's not exactly realistic, but sometimes I just want my guy to start with my favorite team and stay there for more than a couple months. In one game, I created a player for a position that my favorite team was thin at and they traded him anyway a month into the season.
10.) Three-way deals, the ability to trade more than three players per side, and the ability to include PTBNL(s) and/or cash considerations.
11.) The ability to create and play with fictional teams either in a create-a-team mode or to place fictional players on current MLB teams.
12.) And this is kind of silly but maybe some sort of awards "ceremony" like MLB Network does with the players being shown receiving their hardware.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I found a few more wishlist items on my MLB the Show twitter:
Being able to select who you bring up for September call-ups. AKA, not having to bring up everyone. I'm not sure if this is allowed in MLB or not, though. I do recall Jim Leyland saying he didn't like September call ups that much and preferred not to bring everyone up though.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I would love a few things.
1. I want old stadiums for every team, number 1 stadium I want is the Kingdome. Also to have the ability to assign this as their stadium for the season and online season.
2. I want the ability in franchise/season mode/ or RTTS too have commission powers as far as trading. I hate seeing lopsided trades, an update should come up saying what the trade is and I should be able to say no or yes even if its for teams I do not control. I do not want to have to control 30 teams.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
As someone who has played the MLB series since MLB Pennant Race 95.... PLEASE, for the love of god, have more natural and realistic pitching motions. The pitching motions have been awful forever.
I know we arent supposed to discuss 2K games in here, but look to their generic pitching motions as inspiration. The signature motions are much better in many cases, as well.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
With next gen and more Memory I would love to see some things between innings.
My favorite thing at a baseball game is the Hat game where the ball goes under a hat and the hats dance around and you have to guess which hat.
My second favorite thing is the boat races on the video screen and guess which boat is going to win.
Also would love to see fans dancing and the mascots doing something crazy on the field.
Just a few things to make you feel like you are in the game.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Wishlist
I think the ability to sign contracts during the season might help mitigate the need to edit contracts. We could then just sign players to contracts we want to give them before the off season, as long as we could overwrite old contracts. Also multiple option years would be super sweet.Comment
