True Broadcast Presentations (PS3 & PS4 Only) - The Show’s presentation crew has taken on a tall task for MLB 14: streamlining the game while enhancing the reality and increasing the variety of the experience. Pace of play is a focal point for the team as we strive to immerse the user in an even more engaging simulation. Heavy emphasis has also been placed on the stadium environment to feature the upgraded crowd actors, jumbotrons, LED boards, dugouts, specific stadium audio and a more engaged, responsive and unique crowd.

-On the commentary side, the three-man booth of Matt Vasgersian, Eric Karros and Steve Lyons return for their second season together. This year's title will emphasize the three announcers in a more interactive, conversational style, yet will also continue to mine the world of baseball to find intelligent, timely and compelling commentary concerning today's teams and players. The overall goal is for the game to get deeper, and for the announcers to better adapt to changing game conditions -- including rising the enthusiasm level when the situation dictates.

    What's #12 can you explain?

It's for in-game roster searches, bit that would be a great addition to the vaults too! *note taken*

You can search players by different categories other than name/position which is cool.

Yeah, there are a couple (big) things that weren't mentioned, that I assume will be covered in a developer diary.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Fact Sheet (PS Vita, PS3, PS4)

SO Ive read the entire thread, as I do before making my first comments on threads like this. Loving the features they have added. Theres a solid amount of upgrades that just make this an amazing game. First a big thank you to the dev team and Mr Russel for their work.

I dont like kissing ***, but have never really shied away from being a MLBTS fanboy. I gave MLB 13 a bit of a hard time due to some major fundamental changes in RTTS and Guess Pitch. The option for broadcast in RTTS is great, but player lock would have been an acceptable comprimse, but both, thats cause for an ovation for the extra mile and customer experience. So thank you

Im not alone and my interests dont line up to many others but MLBTS is a year round hobby that isnt a borderline obsession but full on lifestyle. I spend my free time thinking about, creating and living in a MLBTS world. The GF accepts it so I dont care what anyone else thinks.

            RTTS Improvements
            Year to Year saves
Player Lock (a feature I remember asking for long ago is going to truely change my gaming experience)
            Franchise Improvements

            • Dynamic Potential for RTTS Player
            • New injury presentations
            • New Player Search feature
            • Ability to hire/fire coaches in mid-season
            • New player contract logic that mimics real life
            • New overall and potential formula
            • Editable potential

The features above in red are my fav bullet points they will add the most depth to the way I play

            • New RTTS Player Creation options, including the ability to model your skills, appearance, and signature animations after a real MLB player
            • Easier trade requests (RTTS)
            • Easier position changes (RTTS)
            • Notification system that keeps you connected to your team and league.
            • CPU plate discipline logic has been re-written
            • Pitcher can now bring up pitch history using L3 (same effect as R2 for the batter)
            • New pickoff cameras

These are my next group that are nice additions.

            Bravo SCEA

                        - Sounds like commentary took a much needed upswing.
                        - hire/fire managers is absolutely nice.
                        - cant wait to see pics of the new UI
                        - the assistant gm notification system. this could be helpful in seeing whats going on around the league. last years ticker was a good idea, but not much info was there, plus it took forever to cycle through scores. hopefully the notifier is what i think it is.

this is the one i am curious about the most

from SCEA. cant ask for much more in a 10 month cycle.the wish list just got smaller.

I am wondering the samething and I hope this means we finally are getting an improved Home Run popup Stat Overlay. You know the kind where it pops up while the batter is rounding the bases

I think the emphasis on HR/power during the past couple decades lead to the decline of the type of players that use the style, but I remember quite a few slap-hitting speedsters back in the day. Vince Coleman, Brett Butler, etc. You could say Tony Gwynn was one as well.

I want to see how the hitting style is implemented, but I'm really glad to see this coming to the game.

I could be wrong but a few years ago I had a talk with Knight and Russell. I believe the potentials are more in line with a grading scale in schools. By that I mean that to be a "A" rated player was more around 92/94 + "B" was in the 80's "C" was in the 70's and "D" was in the the 60's and "F" was anything below 55/60.

Now don't quote this as gospel because it has been a while, just trying to share some knowledge.
