Here's hope for a rollback to the previous method where auto-base running did not also mean auto-stealing. i was horrified last night when Brandon Moss was thrown out at 3rd base trying to steal with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th trailing by a run.

Obviously I'll have to discipline him... although i suspect if there was an auto-discipline setting in the game Sony would probably put him at Shortstop and have him bat lead off for the next game.

Once I'm released from the psych ward, you can be sure that Brandon will be dealt with, and I'm not putting up with any whining about how Sony made him do it.

Yeah I hope in the next patch they change it back to the way it was last year.

Stealing

I have never been able to steal bases in the past, and thought that maybe auto-base running might fix that. Far from it. 20 games into my Twins franchise, I have 2 stolen bases, 6 caught stealing, and lead the league in double plays. This hasn't helped at all. Further, I traded for Leonys Martin, and his ratings are 91 speed, 92 stealing, 90 Aggression. He hasn't stolen a single base. Part of it is that I use quick counts, but everyone simply doesn't run enough, and they get caught or picked off if they try. I love playing with quick counts, and the game is as fun as it's ever been. But the stealing is a joke.

I have now come to live with assist base running, I am getting used to it I think the days of auto base running is now over for me, I still do make stupid mistakes but hitting the wrong button because I panic, it usually only happens when you hit a double and have players on 1st and 2nd because your rushing to choose 2nd runner hit x and 1st runner to hit triangle ive accidently hit trangle on the 2nd runner somtimes wondering why he won't move and it can turn out to be a mess by the time you work out what you did wrong! but I am getting better. L1 to advance all runners is the key to do it right

That's just it L1 to advance all runners on first and second and gap double is hit. Then just point to the runner who was on first and get control of him to make sure he stops at 3rd. Once you get the hang of default running controls it is seriously easy to manage everything with assisted base running
