Giving us the ability to do our own leading and stealing only fixes half of the equation. It's still WAY too easy to pick of the CPU runners too.

But its also too easy to throw the ball in the stands so its do so at a risk. Which your still right needs to be toned down.
I hate to use MLB 2k as a comparison , but its much easier to run in that game. Maybe in the future SCEA can give us the same amount of running options as they do hitting and pitching. I think back to the Tony LaRussa days where you controlled the lead runner until the play ended or he scored then the cpu automatically switched control to the next lead runner. Hopefully this gets fixed soon as the auto base running for the most part does a good job.

In the past there was some debate about whether one or more sliders were reversed. Should we see if CPU pickoffs should be at 10 instead of 0 to help with the pickoff problem?

There seems to be some confusion here.

The pickoffs slider has nothing to do with pickoff success; it only impacts pickoff attempts.

Now obviously more attempts will result in more outs but the slider in itself only effects pickoff frequency.

Exactly my point though. If we can lower the amount of attempts we can lower he amount of pickoffs (for those of us using auto). Just wondering why lowering the slider to 0 has no effect. Could it be reversed?

Someone said that raising the Steal Ability slider cut down on some of the successful pickoff attempts.....

why did they even change it? It has been this way forever and it's been perfectly fine.

That was my feeling as well, not sure why they changed it. I never remember seeing to many complain with it the way it was. I remember it took me a while to figure out how to steal 2nd with a man on 3rd without sending the guy on 3rd Home, but that was user fault not SCEA,lol. I loved how auto was in the past.

Just blew a great scoring chance because i have to use manual baserunning. First and Second nobody out hit a liner to left and it falls but i hit R1 accidentally when i swung and the runners dove back to their bases. Runner was thrown out at second because of it. Where I'm I suppose to put my right index finger when batting so i don't hit r1 or r2?

Having the steal ability at 7 makes has lessened the pickoffs and the I still throw the cpu out a realistic amount of the time. I only have 3 sb's, 5 pickoffs (before slider adj), and 2 cs in 15 games but I am using the Angels and M.Trout is the only good base stealer on the team and for whatever reason I can't get on base with him. Whatever happened to the small ball Angels?

I have pickoffs down to 0 but still average at least 1 a game with auto base running's so yeah having it at 0 doesn't help.. its 'a because a big fat guy decides to lead off

Like I said, watch their leadoff. If you see a non/base stealer lead off too much, STEP OUT OF THE BOX (down on the D-Pad) when it resets, his lead should be back to normal.....

I put pickoffs at 0, and steal frequency all the way up to 10. I have played this way for years with this game. I never felt the AI attempted enough steals on me, so thats why I use those sliders. I havent seen any slow footed guys try to steal nor do I see very many players get picked off. I think in 7 or 8 games this year I have had only 1 guy between my team and the AI get picked off trying to steal. Im also on All Star with auto baserunning.

I havent noticed anything as far as bad AI decisions on the bases, or to many steals attempted for that matter. Only issue I have is with not being able to call your own steals with it set to auto you cant do hitn runs and squeeze plays.

I just hope they dont mess this up completely where we dont see any steals by tryingto fix this. If thye cant patch back in the old way so it works that way, then Im not sure I want them doing anything, for fear of messing it up completely. Cause if I ended up having to use manual baserunning I be in trouble, and probably have to go back to 13 which I dont want to do.
