Man that kind of sucks. Any chance to get a patch to make that stats actually realistic. I've been picked off 5 times in 5 games (4 with M.Trout) with the CPU pickoff slider at 0. I can overcome the ability to not choose the baserunning but at least need realistic outcomes. The CPU is on pace for 162 pickoffs against me, the league leader last season had 18. And my guys are not even remotely close to getting back in time.

Re: Stealing with Auto Baserunning
It was called AUTO base running last year. Yet you were still able to control your own lead off and steals.Comment

Re: Stealing with Auto Baserunning
Why are you taking an extra leadoff? The game gives all players a standard leadoff which is more than enough to steal a base with the applicable athletes. If you take an extra lead off the cpu is going to pick you off quite often especially if its a guy with high steal attributes. The game is working the way in should in this regard there is nothing to change.
Maybe I'm wrong?
But I read it as him complaining that the CPU is automatically leading off for him and that as a result, pickoff success is too high.
And if that's the case, I actually agree with him. I've played 20 games and have seen 4 successful pickoffs (so yes, way less than one per game as he's stating). And this is all computer controlled with Auto Baserunning.
Pickoff success seems too high. Pickoff attempts on the other hand occur at what seems to be an excellent clip. It just feels like too many outs are made on them. But of course, I've only played 20 games.Comment

hes not taking a extra lead off its the CPU that is doing it, that's what the problem is with auto base running now.. the CPU takes a lead off even with slow guys like Ortiz and gets picked off and they randomly take off and get caught steeling.
I turned the steal base Freq down that seemed to work better, the problem is now that I never can steal bases on Auto base running because you can't manually do it anymoreComment

I think he's using Auto Baserunning, Ramone.

Only issue I have seen is the inability to steal, do hitn runs, or squeezed bunts with it on auto like you could in the past with it set on auto.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

I kind of thought the title made it obvious I was using Auto Baserunning and therefore could not control the leadoff.
Since that post I cranked up the steal ability slider and that seems to have helped. 7 games with 0 successful pickoff attempts. I still have the CPU pickoff attempts at 0 so I may start pushing that slider to the right to see how it impacts. Pickoff attempts should happen they just shouldn't be successful very often.Comment

Re: Stealing with Auto Baserunning
I myself am frustrated with the crappy response in the manual baserunning (maybe it's just me that can't get used to it) So, what I do, is set it to auto, and watch the runner on first. If his lead is too big, I STEP OUT OF THE BATTERS BOX (down on the D-pad). 9 out of 10 times, the runner at first doesn't lead the extra step the next time. This cuts down on the pickoffs.
If I wan to steal second, or do a hit and run, I turn it back on manual for that one pitch only.
I know it's not the best situation, but until the fix arrives, it is a way to work around it.Comment

Re: Stealing with Auto Baserunning
I am now really really angry from a ******* retorted CPU that got me picked off twice in the game one time with the catcher on first
and on in the 9th innings with 2 out down 1-0 a chance to win 2-0 the pathetic stupid CPU decides to steal 2nd getting caught stealing to end the game... I can play on assist either it frustrates me please I hope this is fixed soon otherwise the neibours will be complaining about my cursing screaming out loud at the CPUComment

what worries me about turning the steal ability right up is won't CPU steals happen all the time now?? what do you have the steal frequency on?Comment

Re: Stealing with Auto Baserunning
Giving us the ability to do our own leading and stealing only fixes half of the equation. It's still WAY too easy to pick of the CPU runners too.Comment
