Would it be immoral to chagne their potential to A if they keep hitting this way through next season?

and the A's dominate in my franchise, i keep losing to them, and lost in 4 games to them in the playoffs.
If they continue to rake, why not. But on the other hand i could just be a fluke and they suck at seasons end. Wait a bit and see what they do after a year or so.

Their Potential can change on it's own. You will get a message in your inbox about player x.. has been really hot or player y has been really struggling.

            ryu
            m perez
            dubront

            my big players are:

            freeman
            puig
            machado
            salvador
            segura
            encarnacion(just got him)

i have a questions about (online) franchise

will you have different amounts of money to use depending on who you use?

at end of season you have so much money to use on free agents(your own and others')

will nyy have like $240 mil to use while hou has like $90?

            thanks!

I have moved into a 3 way tie for first with a 5-4 win over the Cards have taken the first two of the 3 game set. Was up 4-2 when Mark Ellis hit a game tying 2 run homerun off Blake Parker in the top of the 8th then I managed 3 straight hits to take a 5-4 lead. Lake hit his 3rd home run Hammel went 7 innings 2 runs and had 2 RBI to show for it. Valbuena finally did something as he had the game wining hit, time to get the brooms out going for the sweep!!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Franchise Progress

I started my franchise with the Pirates and thanks to several of the teams being on "rebuilding strategy" I was able to put together the following roster. (I have force trades off btw)

                Rotation

                1. Jose Fernandez
                2. Madison Bumgarner
                3. Gerrit Cole
                4. Francisco Liriano
                5. Zach Wheeler
(Also acquired Dylan Bundy, Trevor Bauer and Yordano Ventura)

                Lineup

                1. Starling Marte
                2. Manny Machado (moved back to SS)
                3. Andrew Mccutchen
                4. Pedro Alvarez/Buster Posey
                5. Buster Posey/Pedro Alvarez
                6. Eric Hosmer
                7. Neil Walker
                8. Gregory Polonco (Pirates had a 75 overall Top 50 OF prospect I re-named)

This worries me if you did, in fact, have force trades turned off. I can't even comprehend how you pulled this off unless your highest rated reliever is like a 65. Even then.... ugh. Would love to see the player-for-player deals you made.

After the regular season update, it is super easy to trade this year, as the game seems to over value prospects.. Some of the deals were unbelievable because of the team being in rebuilding mode.. The Yankees for instance; will trade you pretty much any three players for 1 B potential prospect. I picked up Teixeira, McCann and Tanaka for a 65 overall prospect(traded all 3 for posey and bumgarner) and then traded for CC and Beltran to re-trade them as well. The Met's are also in rebuilding mode: I added Harvey(used to get Fernandez) and Wheeler for two A potential pitching prospects that were 48 and 54 overall. I don't necessarily like that the trading system seems broken, but I'm fine with taking advantage of it.

Thats not good to hear. Looks like if they dont fix that in a patch I will need house rules unfortunately which I hate to have to do. I have already heard that budgets are broken and after a few years in there are not teams that would be considered small market, so thats definitely broken and needing fixed. From the looks of it sim stats and regression have been fixed, it looks like they fix a couple things then break a couple, lol.

I'm assuming you are playing with the salary cap off. If not, have fun when arbitration kicks in for a few of those guys.

Random note on the A's young staff's domination: in my last game I fanned 7 straight batters with Sonny Gray. I've never done anything like that before. Love the kid!

This is why since 2011 I play either with fictional players or controlling all teams. This kind of roster and trades ruins the game for me. Looks like I am staying with 2013 until fictional rosters for 14 come out.

I've really just been screwing around until the PS4 version comes out and I'm actually hoping trade logic is improved on that version or at least in an update, before I start my legit franchise..

I don't mind screwing around with a superstar roster for a couple weeks, but it's kind of boring when you can build a team like this so early/easily for a long term franchise.
