Do you also handle the draft, signing rookies and free agency? If so, how do you handle? I'd definitely be interested in overseeing trades and probably the draft, but when it comes to free agents that may take quite some time for every team.

Re: Community 30 team control guide
Here is what I am wanting to do:
Control the trades, waivers, signings, rosters during the year.
Make sure the trades are realistic to what is going on in real life, waivers signings realistic and rosters as well.
1) How would I set this up (which settings need to be on what)
2) Do you set injuries on manual or auto? I figured once I caught up to real time I would just put the injuries that happen in real life. Can that be done?
This is the first time ever doing this. I have read through this thread and read the posts from 3 years ago but still confused on how to set it up really.
Help would be much appreciated. If someone would be gracious enough to PM me with some help and someone I can ask questions when I have it that would greatly appreciated.
I am getting the game tomorrow and will be playing when I have time.
Thank you!Comment

Re: Community 30 team control guide
I'm having the same trouble I seem to have every year.
I read Knight's explanation of how to DL players...
-You must put INJURIES on MANUAL....and INJURY MANAGEMENT on AUTO for the CPU teams(if one team control...it is already on AUTO)
-Go to the DISABLED LIST.....Use L2/R2 to cycle through the teams(1 team or 30 team control)...use the L1/R1 button to go to the roster for injuring players....click on a player and give him an injury....
-With 30 team control...if you have injury management on AUTO...the CPU should put the player on the DL.....you can do it by going back to the DISABLED LIST screen and placing them yourself. With just 1 team control.....the CPU will put the injured player on the DL...you cannot do it yourself.
For the life of me I can't find where I put INJURIES on MANUAL. I've found INJURY MANAGEMENT just fine. But, the L1/R1 buttons don't work without having INJURIES on MANUAL. Any help would be appreciated.
Btw...I've already started my franchise. Must I start over?
Lastly, I'm on PS4 but can't find a thread in that forum similar to this one.

Re: Community 30 team control guide
My question is whether after starting a franchise with 30 team control I can revert to controlling only one team.
The reason I chose 30 team control was a report I saw of a glitch where the cpu was signing top young prospects to long term contracts for low money but after simming a season and off season I didn't see any cpu teams doing this.
Can I revert to one team control or do I have to start my franchise over?
Thanks≡Comment

Therefore I see no reason to use 30 team control so unless someone can tell me how to undo it I'll restart.≡Comment

I don't know but it looks like I'll restart my franchise. It is true the user team can sign young players long term cheap but I simmed the entire offseason and I didn't see any cpu teams doing it.

Re: Community 30 team control guide
Well, from what I've read, 30 team control is still the way to go if only you are controlling the trades. I've read that teams get a little crazy with trades late in the year. So if you want to prevent that, you have to have police the trades and only accept the ones that are logical. I've yet to start my franchise, but when I do, I will definitely be managing the trades of all teams. Same goes for the draft. I've read some teams select 3 or 4 catchers in one draft. I think I'll go through the draft and manually pick the best player for that organization based off their roster. I read it only takes 40-45 min to do the entire draft that way.
If there is no way to undo 30 team control once a franchise is under way my suggestion would be for the devs to include that in the future.≡Comment

Re: Community 30 team control guide
For those interested in doing that 30 team control is fantastic. My only reason for doing it was to prevent the top prospects from signing long term deals for peanuts and that doesn't seem to be an issue.

All you have to do is make sure the profile you have for all the CPU teams everything is set to auto.
Your done.
The only thing you will need to do is sim the games before your game so you can see the ticker working during your game.
Other than that…..there is nothing else you will have to do.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Community 30 team control guide
I ran a little test franchise last night and see that the cpu trading is crazy! I saw C.C Sabatbia get dealt to the Royals for AA SS A Mondesi. Also saw Matt Holliday get dealt twice. Does anyone play without 30 team control and think the trades that occur are even slightly realistic? It seems like teams just go crazy and want to trade just for trading reasons.
When doing 30 tram control, I read you have to go daily into the transactions tab and check trades. Do you check pending trades? And also, do you have to scroll through every team's pending trades for that day or is there another way to do this? Doing this every single day could take some time especially if you are doing the "play 1, sim 5" process.
And lastly, I saw Chris Davis and James Shields were also waived after the trade deadline and I guess not claimed. So do they go back to their original teams? That doesn't seem realistic at all. Anyone else seeing that?Comment

Yes, you check every team and their pending transactions page every day. A bit time consuming but at least you get to play with realistic deals
If Davis and Shields were waived after the deadline, I assume it's just the trade waivers? A team needs to waive a player first before they can deal him. On my phone now so I can't give you a link but Google MLB August trade waivers or something like that. Should give you a more in depth explanation. Or refer to the transactions handbook within the franchise modeFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: Community 30 team control guide
I've never done 30-team control in the past. I always figured it would be too much of a hassle to constantly have to be the hall monitor for the rest of the league.
But I've been dipping my toe in those waters this year.
I've decided that it's not feasible for me to check the pending transactions every day. That's time-consuming, slow, and a pain.
To do that, it seems I have to scroll around through the different types of transactions, and then I have to scroll around the entire league. It's too much to do every calendar day within the game.
(Why didn't they build in a handy trade alert function, so the information comes to you instead of making you hunt for it? They've known for years that their flawed franchise logic was forcing people to use 30-team control. Why not program in some functions that would make it less of a headache?)
What I've decided is that I will simply set trades to "manual" for the CPU profile for most of the duration of the franchise. I'll only switch it to "auto" when I'm in the mood to police them (probably in short bursts, like a weekend here or a weekend there).
The only times when I'll let them have a bigger window of time to make trades would probably be July and then again in a month during the offseason (this would be sort of like when trade talks ramp up during the winter meetings, or when the price tag becomes real for the arbitration bunch).
Playing hall monitor for the league for 2 months each year (plus the odd weekend now and then) seems more manageable than doing it for the entire year every year.Comment
