I've decided that it's not feasible for me to check the pending transactions every day. That's time-consuming, slow, and a pain.

To do that, it seems I have to scroll around through the different types of transactions, and then I have to scroll around the entire league. It's too much to do every calendar day within the game.

(Why didn't they build in a handy trade alert function, so the information comes to you instead of making you hunt for it? They've known for years that their flawed franchise logic was forcing people to use 30-team control. Why not program in some functions that would make it less of a headache?)

What I've decided is that I will simply set trades to "manual" for the CPU profile for most of the duration of the franchise. I'll only switch it to "auto" when I'm in the mood to police them (probably in short bursts, like a weekend here or a weekend there).

The only times when I'll let them have a bigger window of time to make trades would probably be July and then again in a month during the offseason (this would be sort of like when trade talks ramp up during the winter meetings, or when the price tag becomes real for the arbitration bunch).

Playing hall monitor for the league for 2 months each year (plus the odd weekend now and then) seems more manageable than doing it for the entire year every year.
I'm with you. It is a little time consuming and annoying having to manually do it every day if the calendar year. The developers should've created a notification system to let the users now when a trade was pending. That way you'd only need to check the transactions page when notified. I'm beginning to think I may just go 1 team control with my A's because trying to siphon through pending transactions for every team every day is a lot. It's crazy that some guys on here control literally EVERYTHING for every team! That's some devotion!

All you have to do is scroll to the "Trades Offered" or "Trades Proposed" section and quickly click through all the teams. Shouldn't take more than a minute or so.

This....also, I'd reccommend just turning off cpu trades until July 1st anyway then look at pending trades up until the trade deadline. I manually will trade players starting July 1st beased on needs and division standings. Won't take me that long to make 5-6 trades imo.

Yeah....I fly through the pending proposed trade screen holding down R2...when i see one flash by...I back up to it....analyze it real quick.

          Simple 3 step proceess

          1. Team offering the deal - what place are they in and are they rebuilding or contending

          2. Does it make sense?

          3. If it is one sided.....and the team proposing the deal needs to make a move to contend or salary dump I figure out a fair market value trade and make the deal for the teams.

Really easy and simple way to keep the trade balance.

Again it all boils down to being immersed in my franchise for me. Creating stories when the Blue Jays have five guys on the DL and its only May, while some teams have avoided it or only had day to day injuries.

Actually, this is what I should have done in my franchise since I either have insane luck with injuries or injury slider doesn't do as much in played games as it does for sim games.

I'm going to have to remember this - manual injuries. Then I can do something like you do if only for my major league squad (even if I do it for when guys leave but somehow "weren't injured" after the game ends and nothing else).

Funny, I was like "why would I need to hurt my own players - they'll get hur playing...then I don't get many injuries and I'm like "oh.." LOL

Re: Community 30 team control guide

I just made it through July in my franchise. (I'd decided to leave the CPU teams' profile set to AUTO for trades for that month, to let them make moves ahead of the deadline.)

After doing it 30-ish straight days, it's not as much of a hassle as it was when I first started.

Maybe it's because I did it enough times that it started feeling less awkward. (Although it still feels awkward doing it on my Vita when I'm doing the Remote Play thing... because it feels so odd using the touch sensors on the back of the Vita as the L2/R2 buttons.)

Still don't see why they don't add a feature (even if it's just optional) that notifies you of pending moves, though. Even if you get comfortable enough with the process of checking trade offers, you still might absentmindedly forget to check every now and then.

All it takes is forgetting to check for one single day, and you wind up with utter nonsense (the most recent laughable trade I had to reject involved HOU sending Matt Albers and Scott Feldman to the Twins for Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano).

I read the suggestion to set file associations to every team but the one you are controlling. However, when controlling all teams, would having set file associations to User for them work? If not, what would be the problem?

I have everything set to manual.

Re: Community 30 team control guide

there is really no reason not to use a 30 team controlled franchise. there is a little more initial setup, but once its set there is really nothing more you will have to do. Checking the pending trade screen each day of your franchise takes maybe 5 seconds. If you see a trade you dont like you simply decline it.

the initial setup is a matter of creating a human and cpu profile. Human set to manual, CPU set to auto. Your team uses the human profile, the 29 other teams use the cpu profile. with this you will be able to do anything you want with the other teams if you decide you need to. If not, then the auto setup will do everything for those cpu teams.

the only other thing to setup imo is the mail system. I will go in and turn off all notifications for cpu teams that are universal. Then i add notices for the cpu teams regarding injuries and transactions.

30 team control is a great way to play and very easy for someone to do if they never used this before.

This is my first year playing The Show, so forgive my questions on some of the nuances within the game. What is the "mail system" and "notifications" you speak of?

I'll try it again, why shouldn't I set file associations to User for all teams and use just one profile, User? I control all 30 teams and everything set to manual.

In franchise, there's a mail envelope at the bottom that flashes when you have important messages like someone going on the trade block or waivers period ending, etc.

You can decide what you want the game to flash the indicator.

I'm almost at the end of April in my Oakland A's franchise and have avoided injuries using my created system. I have a day to day injury for Reddick, and one of my bullpen guys just went on the 15 day DL with an injury.

I also do this....the first Sunday of the month I use the random number app to choose a team that will "magically" have a guy on the DL recover. In April that guy was Adam Wainwright who was on the 60 day DL, lucky for them lol.

Feel free to PM me if you are interested in doing this and I can explain how I do in more detail. It takes me literally 3-5min max to create three injuries per calendar day. I love knowing going into a series against the Rays they are without a couple guys cuz of injury, instead of wondering while I play "where is such and such at?"

Good to know. Thanks for info. So if I do a single team franchise, will I get updates on injuries, trades and waivers from each team across the franchise? Or is it just limited to my team?

you can get info on trade and waivers, but for the other 29 teams you would not get an email in the game.

you can still see who is injured via the disabled list and R2 to scroll each team.
