    Re: BATTING STANCE/PITCHING DELIVERY THREAD

as I've said a million times, to try and keep up with these guys, each and everytime they change their stance is insane...

didja see what I posted on Andruw Jones?
...two different stances in a 9-day period....

You're a better guy than me.

ditto...if you're trying to get a stance right...or as close as real, the one handed/two handed stuff is immaterial....

The year before last, I got into this discussion with a guy here on OS...in his mind...if there were two stances to settle on...one correctly having a two-handed follow through with an 'ok' stance....and one having a one handed follow through with the exact stance, HE was going for the former....

My thing is when you play...really play...and get into the pitch on it's way, who's looking at how many hands leave the bat?
      LOL

All of those have bats on the shoulders, however some have movement which Bay has little of in his new stance as well the wrong leg positioning. Hamiltons leg positioning was closest of those and his bat position is 100% perfect.

on July 20, in the AB where he also homered, his stance was EXACTLY like A-Rod's, except---for the minor front toe-tapping

Agreed! I care much more about the appearance of the stance then the amount of hand follow through on the swing

                      Re: Dan Hudson

For Dan Hudson, M. Batista's delivery would be incorrect. Why?
He starts his windup with glove in front of face

His glove at it's high point, is NOT at head level

Awful follow-through; slow and in front of the mound....
                      Batsita ain't happening....

There are ONLY two deliveries to go with in The Show for Dan Hudson; Rich Harden or Jonathan Sanchez...

                      The pros and cons?

                      Harden:

the good: the follow-through/fall off the mound to the first base side, is close to being exact...even to the point with the glove at his side at the end

the bad: at it's high point, the glove in the middle of his windup, is NOT at head level

                      Sanchez:

the good: glove starts at stomach, at it's high point, it's head high

the bad: glove hand is at full extension, that is NOT in Hudson's delivery....

these notes are from Sunday's game vs. Oakland

                      take your pick!

not that someone won't come up with his delivery, but Weathers is out of baseball--at the major and minor league levels....

he was not offered a contract over the winter
