Re: BATTING STANCE/PITCHING DELIVERY THREAD
Carew, I've been watching the Braves-Nats series and Dunn's stance looks just like Bobby Crosby's...Also, I'm loving the Jason Jennings suggestion for Soriano - it's perfect!Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

@ WakeUnc2321
I've used Jennings for Sori for the last two years, so that's good to know
I'll find the time and check Crosby/Dunn later...but if Dunn's stance in real life, is not as open as Crosby's is in the game, I wont use it though...

CODY ROSS-LF/OF-(Marlins)
IF...only IF SCEA combined a hybrid of Ryan Howard's stance (slow bat movement/twisting), Adam Dunn's (bat tapping on the shoulder) and D. Wright's stance (knee bent; open stance), they would have a virtually PERFECT stance for Cody Ross.
With that said, there is not one stance available that's close. Ross has these elements in his stance:
Before the pitch:
knees bent, slightly open stance and a slight, quick toe tap with his lead foot.
The bat starts out across from his neck area/upper chest area...then a slow swirl/twist with the bat going back...tapping on his shoulder slowly....the bat action repeating until just before the pitch heads towards the plate.
So...it was gonna be either Dunn's stance or Loney's...I settled on Loney's...For 2017...

Re: BATTING STANCE/PITCHING DELIVERY THREAD
I didnt use any other numbers for him...
he made 12 starts in '08..which is 34% of anticipated starts for a starter (out of 35). My rule for starters is, less than 10 starts (under 28%), and I go to the minors and use the start stats there...provided the percentage is higher....
So accordingly, I got Purceys durability at 34 which would be right since '08 was his MLB debut.

@ iLLmatic
no, not at this time...particularly Posey. I'm gonna need far more than 10 games and 37AB's to get a REAL good picture of what he may do
Baumgardner...no, not at this time...too far down in the system to deal with him right now
And...the last I checked, Posey's stance was almost a carbon copy of Alou's

TREVOR CAHILL-SP (A's)
Trevor Cahill-John Maine
not giving this guy a 4-seamer either. I know what Baseball America says, but I watched today, the two starts he has so far this year and not seen one 4-seam.
He has a sinker (94mph) and 2-seam (91mph), circle change (83mph), knuckle-curve (82mph) and a slider (84mph).
The mlb.com pitch tracking/gameday setup can't even get it right. In his starts, most of his 2-seamers they classify as his changeup...which he throws at 88mph tops...NOT!

Re: BATTING STANCE/PITCHING DELIVERY THREAD
Forget Hill's stance.. he was using his usual stance yesterday.
And whoever said purcey had an awesome start yesterday afternoon.. he must be smoking crack! Ya he might have struck out tons, but 6 walks.. ouch!
Anyways back to this thread... erm.. no one in mind.. so awesome job so farComment
