The stat glitch was fixed with one of the roster updates. The problem is any roster started/created before that update still has the glitch.

right, i understand that... it just seemed like some people were talking like the patch that's coming out is gonna fix the glitch in knights rosters... just wondering if i missed an announcement or if they're just hoping that it fixes it.

OMG that will be a dream come true,lets pray it does fixed knights roster because knight did a great job. Once again lets pray with the new patch knights rosters will be fixed

Only thing I have that could make it better is if John Shelby was in the White Sox system. He was their minor league player of the year last year and is one of their top 10 prospects.

Yeah, the White Sox rosters look pretty solid, but John Shelby (OF/2B) is a major omission. He hit .295, 15 HRs, 80 RBIs, 33 SBs in Single-A last year, and .301, 16 HRs, 79 RBIs, 19 SBs in 2007. He may be the best power/speed prospect in the White Sox system.

About the Sox catching prospects, Tyler Flowers and Cole Armstrong. You have Flowers as a C and Armstrong as a B, but most scouting reports would reverse that. Flowers was the key player in the Javier Vazquez trade. He hit .288, 17 HRs, 88 RBIs, .427 OBP in Single-A last year, and was a MVP candidate in fall league, hitting .387, 12 HRs, .973 SLG. He made the Top 100 Baseball America prospects and projected to hit the majors in 2010. Armstrong might have hit his ceiling in AAA this year. He puts up solid numbers, but he's overlooked in the organization b/c he's a lefty and can't spell A.J. Pierzynski. And the hype train on Flowers is off and running at full steam.

Baseball Prospectus has this as their Top 11 list for the White Sox:

Sorry I'm not responding directly to the PM's....but I've read them...and I will make the changes/additions where I can...(re Mark Melancon...Johh Shelby and some others.)
I may not be able to make wholesale changes to some squads...but I will do my best.
As it stands...changing a position player potential is going to be tough. I'll see what I can do...and for a lot of them that you guys asked about(Triunfel comes to mind)....I had them at B's...but started running out. In the case of Triunfel...it was he or Halman...and Halman got the nod.
I will try and maybe shift a guy here or there no promises on the position players..
Pitchers...I'm able to come up with a few...so there I can help you guys pretty easily.
Guys that are PM'ing me ...I think you'll be happy with the next update. (I'll do my best anyway!! )

OK I am having major problems here, I have downloaded rosters for other games before but I can't get these rosters to go on my PS3

First I download the rosters then I extract them to a folder like I have done before, then I put them on my USB, then I look for them under saved data utility on my PS3 but I can't find them under that category. Did I do something wrong here????

PM moemoe42, he had the same problem, but it was resolved. He should be able to help you.
Delete your old zip file and PS3 folder (to avoid confusion).

Re-download it (I find it's best to start over just in case you corrupted the file somehow, trust me) and just save the zip file to your desktop.

Unzip the zip file to your desktop (I assume you know how to unzip a file).

You should see a PS3 folder (that is why I told you to delete your old folder, so you don't get mixed up (I used to be a computer guy, and I know people get mixed up like this all the time).

Make sure that you just drag the PS3 folder (after you unzip it) to your USB drive (use my computer is the easiest way, just open your USB drive in there and drag the PS3 folder from the desktop to it. Make sure it is in the root of the drive, and not inside of another folder.

When you get to your PS3, hook up your USB drive,

go to saved data utility and press X to bring up a list of saves. Now you have to go all the way to the top to find your USB drive. Press X and then triangle to copy the roster file.

I just sent you a PM B Rad...maybe it will help you.

I downloaded Knight's file straight to my desktop and unzipped from there. Some people keep saying to unzip "to" your desktop. I dont know if they are saying that because they have the file stored in their documents or what,, but DL them straight to my desktop worked for me.

somewhere i think i saw you post about having the free agents act as a pool for us to edit as we feel necessary. any chance you can pull the plug on one F/A spot for triunfel? Him and halman both should be rated as high prospects.

Once you load Knight's roster and start your franchise the roster will drop all those hall of famers and you will have a ton of FAs that are fake players you can edit, along with all the ML FAs that he put on the list when doing his roster.

No, that just means to download Knights zipped file to your desktop and then just unzip the zip file there right there. The PS3 folder will be right there on your desktop (at least that's what I have meant).

Moemoe, it really doesn't matter what folder on your computer you put the zip file in when you download or where you unzip it, we have just said to the desktop to simplify things, and so that you can easily find and drag the PS3 folder over to your USB drive. You can also just use copy (PS3 folder) and paste (into the USB drive). Sometimes when people download files they place it in a folder called Download. You can unzip the file into any folder on your computer. I usually just download files to my desktop or a download folder so I can keep track of where it is. But, it really doesn't matter, as long as you can find them.

The main thing is that you must get the PS3 folder copied onto your USB drive. And that PS3 folder cannot be in any other folder on the USB drive. Common problems that people encounter when they do this is put the PS3 folder into another folder accidentally. Or they just copy over the SAVEDATA folder directly to their USB drive, and it's not in the PS3 folder. The PS3 is unable to read the file if it is not all contained in a PS3 folder.

Another common problem arises when people don't scroll all the way up after pressing X in the Save Data Utility menu (or don't know to do this at all). Then they don't see the USB device. They will often see their device in the photo or music area though like the original poster.

Apple Mac computers will often automatically unzip a downloaded zip file. Then the user doesn't realize it, and tries to unzip the unzipped file, lol. That's another common problem.

Yeah, everyone has to realize to he's not only creating these guys, but he has you guys giving him minor league lineups and he has to work those players attributes so that they fall into the 1-8 skeam of things. That's probably slowing down the process a bit because he has to adjust them, enter a season and see where the guys wind up. I'm sure he's going nuts.

They really should give you something to work with ahead of time, before the game is released, like a version of the game that is easier for you to work on the rosters. Like a "Knights special edition" that is easier for you to work with the rosters and so you can create the potentials as you see fit. I understand their reasoning for the limited potential ratings, but I surely think you could hold yourself back from giving an A to everyone, haha. And a function where you can use a photo to scan the face I guess, would save you a lot of time from creating the faces yourself.

I am new to this and i just wanted to say that Knight and the others working on the rosters are doin amazing jobs, and its unbelieveable what they can do!! I was just curious if Knight was coming out with a file of the new roster update with the scea stats and his own creation of prospects. Not sure if i worded that right ? Another words i was looking for something foe next week with all the new rosters from scea with all of Knights prospects instead of the fake minor leaguers.

There are soooo many ways they could make editing rosters easier. Maybe next year, they will keep good ol Knight in mind and revamp their player editor, have actual numbers, roster editor, etc.

MLB 2K9 took a step back this year since its VCs first year. You can't even edit stances and deliveries now. Ouch.
