I don't mind handing it off to you to start stances/motions...whenever you are ready.
I would definitely start a new thread...it will get lost in here and vice versa.

PM me if you have any questions.

Oh...CPU ROSTER CONTROL is not holding the lineups....it's allowing the CPU to change them(and they do!) from day 1 in your franchise/season.
I'm sure they are working on it...but I have come up with my own fix by editing a little here and there.

are you gonna share that edit with us cuz I am definitely someone who likes to keep rosters for ALL teams as accurate as possible. If you remember last year I kept the thread going of all in season moves so that people like me could keep up w/ all moves (injuries, call ups, trades etc) that actually happen during the season. Where are you posting the file I should be using or do you wanna sendspace or PM me with it when you're done?

Strut...there is no one magic bullet for the lineups.
Each one is different...and I have to take the lineup as a whole...then figure out the best tweak to get what I need to get it in line.
Hard to explain....just after so long at this....I just know what to do. It's not rocket science that's for sure

When you are ready for the file...let me know. I will send it over. If you want to wait for me to move on it a little...that's good too. Either way.
I'm working on the lineups now....that will be two days...Then I will get the top 20 prospects made(the A team)...then set the 40 man rosters...then fill in with the rest....that's my layout.
I can fit you in there anywhere, so just let me know what day(give me a two-three day lead to finish up whatever I'm on)...and I'll PM you a link from sendspace.

However, it seems like every pitcher needs to have his stamina lowered substantially (thats a guess) by one of the roster God's (thats you Knight).
Knight i took this from CArew´s thread about pitchers stamina ratings and he has a formula done to get better results regarding how relievers work in the game

Any chance this can be looked at for your file?

Thanks for all the hard work!

At a quick glance, I've noticed a lot of improvements in stances but I see there might be a lot of generic pitching motions. and 2, what is the CPU ROSTER CONTROL issue ? I haven't looked yet but are you able to take control over other teams like last year? Do we need the "roster work around" again? Sorry I have been way behind this year due to lots of other things in my life but finally have the game and wanna get caught up and up to date

So will this be done before or after the full minors and everything else is finished? Not trying to be negative, just that stances/motions don't effect game play the way attribute edits and actual player creations would. I mean, I'm all for the most realistic rosters, but I'd look at stances/motions as an after-thought to creating all the minor league players and edited attributes. I just noticed in the thread you created you said it took a long time last year.

Great work as always guys! You guys make this game even more fun to play every year (man, if you have a nickel for everytime you hear us say that... )

Question though...once the roster set are ready, how will we know where or how to get it? Is it going to be uploaded online? Given the high activity of this thread, will it be possible (once it is ready) to have a bookmark to the thread entry that details how obtain the rosters once its complete (like maybe listed on someone's signature or edited on the first entry of this thread)? Sorry, getting antsy...

It'll be in the roster vault online I'm sure.

                Also another question...

I'm assuming you all are gonna be playing Legend with these rosters. Do you guys have a recommendation on what Legend sliders to use? I'm looking at the sliders thread here at operationsports and it appears there are two that is being discussed (Skybox and Phoenix something). I will try these later but was wondering if you guys have played enough to know which Legend sliders you recommend.

                Thanks.

                  Knight165,

Have you ever posted what kind of work schedule you set up to do all these edits? It has to be like a full-time job. How many hours a day do you spend on this? Do you have family, friends, pets that feel neglected, or do they kind of understand. When I used to mod stadiums for MVP my wife kind of understood my obsession, but I also tended to work on them when she was busy with something else.

I appreciate all the work you are doing to make our games that much better.

As you well know....the amount of time invested is SICK.
It is nearly a full time job.
However...when I was setting up my home....I did a very wise thing(or did I?)...I made my office in direct line with my bedroom. When my wife and I "retire" for the evening....while she will watch a film, I am working a few feet away. Keeps the line of sight open and it's a good trick to making her think I'm listening to her(honey...if you're reading this...you know I'm just telling these guys this to appease them....I actually record everything you say and play it back during the day multiple times to ensure accuracy and that I will do exactly as you spoke of!)
My dog lays at my feet...and at 13 years old.....she can lay there as long as I can work:wink:
                    Kids are grown and gone
                    No other life

Avalon.....I always set my rosters up for default All-Star. It leaves the most amount of room for everyone to tune as necessary.(Even more upward this year with the addition of Legend.....I don't even count rookie)

                      Knight,

Here is a question for ya. After testing, tuning and perfecting these rosters, are you able to actually have fun with the game?

Are you able to sit and play through seasons with your rosters, or are you constantly playing and wondering "should I have done this" or "should he be rated that". I've always been curious about that aspect.

Like many others here, I have put my Rangers franchise on the back burner and can't wait for the final release. In years past, I haven't worried about the minor league rosters TOO much, but since the Rangers farm system is stacked - I'm definitely making it a point of emphasis this year.

                        Good question.

Yes...I really do like playing once I'm done.
But...like you said...there is always...a "I should have done this or that" moment. Goes with the territory.
The only other thing...is with my created players.....I wish I didn't know how I rated them. It takes a little away from me actually going with how they are playing and my "gut" instinct on them....
Other than that....I can ONLY play the game with all these guys in the game...so there is little choice for me.

                        A little note...

I'm moving along pretty quickly already(the easy part though)...but I'm pretty sure these will be ready VERY close to opening day!

That would be awesome. Opening day is such a special day for all baseball fans. I have had it scheduled off for the last 10 years of work. There's just something special about it - the sun is brighter, the sky is a deeper blue, the smell in the air is fresh...you can't beat Opening Day. I've only been to a handful in person, and this year it looks like I'll be able to go to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington - and the perfect cap to the day would be to get home, pop in The Show, and start a franchise by playing the game I had just gone to see with your rosters.

Thanks to you, and the team for every ounce of work you put into these rosters, edits, etc. As one of thousands who await this set, we simply can't say that enough.

I sort of skimmed this thread as it is too long to read the every post, but I did read pretty much all of Knight's. My question is regarding the lineup fix. Has anyone tested taking those a few seasons into a franchise?

You mention tweaking the attributes looking at an entire squad so the lineups generated by the logic will be more in line with their real life counterparts. What happens with trades as time goes on? If players are being tweaked within the context of their current team, won't lineups potentially be off again should players get traded?

This is quite possibly something you thought of already, and most likely something that is out of your control. But I was just curious. Great job so far; appreciate the serious investment of your personal time.

SDawg, i'm going with the Rangers in my franchise this year as well! Great news that the set will be done very close to opening day. But keep in mind, Knight and crew base this set off of the actual opening day rosters, lineups, rotations etc. So i would guess it will take them (best case of course) 2-3 days after the "real" opening day to set everything perfect. Appears the process is going much faster for these guys this year!! I was already counting on starting my franchise 3-4 weeks after opening day but looks to be much sooner Again guys, can't thank you enough!!
