Re: Knights End of Season Set

Well... some of you really fed me to the wolves huh? Jiminy Cricket lol

My apologies for not being able to finish the set. I had some personal issues and haven't been online in over a week. I don't blame any of you for being upset, I would've been too. Some of you might want to look into some meditation though :P

The set I was working on is all finished aside from 2 AL East teams I think. I used the 3 year weighted system which you seem to have decided against. I did tweak discipline and pitch attributes, but not the pitches themselves. The power numbers concerned me too, but after doing multiple sims after the first division I edited, I noticed it actually came out about the same. A lot of the editing was guess work, as far as who had break out years, bumping them slightly higher, who seems to really be falling off their game, lowering them slightly more than suggested by the 3 year system. Also if the program told me to raise a 70 contact hitter to a 95 I only bumped it to about 85 or so. No reason for that kind of dramatic change I wouldn't think.

Anyway, I'm sorry again for not being able to finish it up for you guys. I did spend Lord (or Knight for this matter) knows how many hours in front of a TV with my desktop sprawled out in the living room editing these things, but no hard feelings about all the ridiculous things that were said. Damn lunatics lol Thanks to those voices of reason... you know who you are... and aren't :P

Dude, welcome back. Hope everything is well for you and your family. I have been working on a set for the past week using 3 year averages and finished the AL last night with the NL to be started as soon as I get feedback on the numbers. Is yours only based on last years batting edits only? I would love to see your set when its ready.

Re: Knights End of Season Set

          Thank you thank you

I edited the rosters based on the weighted attributes. Which included '09(50%), '08(25%) and '07's(25%) stats. I did find while doing this that I wished someone with more knowledge of the rosters would have done it. Just because they know what's already been done and what hasn't. I know it's a lot of work though so I don't blame them for not wanting to take it on.

The ceiling for power seems to be some where in the low 80's though. I was curious to hear what Knight thought about that?

I didn't want to really mess with the rookies or prospects either, but it'd be great to have their ratings boosted/lowered based on 2009 performances. I just didn't want to go over anyone's work who knows a lot more about this than I do.

You seem to be receiving a bit more input from people, which is good for the end result. I'd say I'll try and finish these last couple teams up (Which I'll do for myself anyhow) and post the rosters I have up, but I'd rather just everyone pretend I didn't say that so no one has an aneurysm if I'm "abducted" again.

Im seeing that as well in regards to power but the ceiling in the AL is around 72 with more high 50's - low 60's in power hitters. Howd that sim out for you cause they sound somewhat similar? Right now my spread sheet is doing some rounds with the group so I can modify some numbers when I get some feedback. But I would definitely love to hear some feedback from yourself with the numbers in your set. TD was gonna be inputting the numbers into the game to test so I dont know how they are gonna play in the game until I hear from him. I also didnt mess with any rookies or career minor leaguers who got a cup of coffee this year, the main man did a great job on those so I wasnt gonna touch them and ruin at least those guys .

This has nothing to do with Bahnzo....but I don't really use the tool.
I kind of have a built in Bahnzo's Roster Tools in my head!....I guess that's the product of creating thousands and thousands of players.
I'll tell you what though....some of the more mid level players and lower end players always had too much power IMO...so this could be a great way to have the higher end power guys really pull away from the pack(if you're willing to figure those guys out manually).

You're talking about from SCEA Im guessing. I absolutely agree with that point. It looks like from the database that there will be a definite discrepency between the "haves" and "have-not", which is a good thing. My only concern is the ole blind dog finds a hydrant one day line, even Alex Cora gets lucky now and then and puts one over the fence, the ratings have to reflect that.

I honestly think these ratings are fine. Your power hitters will get their jacks and the bottom of the line guys will get their every once in a blue moon homer. I really wouldn't worry about it because they all seem fine to me. Keep up the good work bud.

Dont know whether to wait in TD if hes inputting in game or to start the NL because Im real curious as to how they play out in a simmed season.

Re: Knights End of Season Set

Thanks for all the work guys. This is easily the best baseball game I've ever played, and I just finished playing the entire 162 game season. Of course, it showed just how realistic this game is, as I was the Dodgers and lost to the Phillies in the playoffs.

I'd like to start a new season with a different team, but definitely want to have the updated rosters. I know this has probably been asked many a times in this thread, but is this set available anywhere else? I don't have the online connection right now for my PS3, so I just thought I'd ask.

                      Thanks again guys.

yyhy i only got upset b/c there was no word for over a week, i understand if crap gets in the way, heck its happened for me, just wished you would've told us things were going to be delayed...i wasn't so pissed at you but rather disappointed in time i would've had to finish up your set that got washed away. Plus we are used to Knight, he's too good at updating us! sorry dude...

its all good tho bygones are bygones (i hope you can forgive me ) and i received an "infraction" so somebody has your back ha...anyways, do you plan on releasing that set? you said you used the weighted system? hmmm...I will not ask for a 'deadline' man haha

Ja i prolly won't have time to sim out seasons for a little so i'd suggest to just finish up the NL and then we'll tinker with stuff...having yyhy around can only help...I might wait until P.P. gets done with the pitch attributes edits before we do anything tho...i'll then get a chance to plug all of those in and we can get going...

thanks for all your hard work to everybody and I hope things get better for ya yyhy

oh and ps. everybody should pray for Bengals WR Chris Henry...what a shame...

Atlanta and Florida are done. Work did me in today. Ill get the rest of the division in tomorrow. Hopefully I get a nice block of time over the next few days so I can knock a big block out and we can get this out sooner rather than later.
