Knight I'm not sure if you are still tracking this thread but I'm not really sure also how I didn't find this until now...I'm 99.9% sure Wilfredo Castilla (18 yr. old catcher on the reds) is a fake....

hmmm...pideon would you want to do the pitching half of the attributes? leave the pitches and their break/movement/control alone (considering i just did all of that) but edit the attributes...shouldn't take long i'd think, esp. considering you don't have to do ALL of the pitchers just those that performed in the mlb level....if both of you guys want to get the numbers (Ja with the batting and you with pitching) and you both put them in a spreadsheet I will put them in the game...

Hello, I been follow the thread for quite awhile and I wanted to find out if the full rosters have been completed yet and where can I get them? Or if needed be I can lend a hand, I use to do rosters myself such as these but since I had kids that got alittle harder.

yes p.p. if you could do that i think that would pretty much seal the deal on this being real as it could get....you guys get me the spreadsheets i'll put in the numbers...

why would you throw out baserunning? still jot them down and i'll test them out...

                you guys in?

cool man banhzo said himself he needs to fix things...i hope the power attributes are not a problem and things sim alright...its not the biggest deal if i need to do a little adjusting...

                    couple more things...
any padre fans out there? is Will Venable the real deal? should he be better than a C potential?

I continue to find more faults with scea's ratings, thanks for whoever really started the whole editing...can't say i like the 'weighted system' and clutch does play a big part in final numbers....Ethier and Kemp on LA were a little off & Manny's numbers were a little bloated in a sim.

Knight was looking at the ex-red Zachary Stewart w/ Toronto...C potential? you had him at a B in the opening day set...did you miss this or was it intended...

With all the draft picks in this set....Stewart was an "on the cusp" player from the first set that got a drop.

I'm split on the weighted system for ratings. On one hand, it makes sense to take into account previous years for a players ratings. Just because they have a bad year doesn't mean they don't have good power, etc. On the other, if you are making a roster to reflect the 2009 season, why wouldn't you just use that season to determine the ratings for players?

But in a LOT of cases the default SCEA ratings are really, really off. Off the top of my head, Troy Tulowitzki has his L/R contact splits completely wrong. No matter if you use weighted or just 2009's numbers, he's a better hitter against RHP. But SCEA has him much better against LHP. Also, his clutch rating is too high. Tulo is NOT a clutch hitter. Etc, Etc, Etc. I dunno who is responsible for SCEA's ratings, but I'd love to have a sit down with him one day find out the reasoning behind some of this.

Thats just it, it wouldnt be fair to the player especially a position player if they only took the last year into account when building a roster. Lets take Garrett Atkins for example. He was absolutely terrible last year and single handedly destroyed my NL fantasy team LOL. But look at his track record, he consistantly put up 25 - 30 and drove in 100 for the past 4 years. Did he just suddenly become a .230 hitter? Did his power just disappear? Previous seasons should be taken into account but age as well should be taken into account as well by whoever is building the rosters. Vladdy or Big Sloppy are two examples of that. They are falling off the cliff fast and their numbers should decline. But a 29 year old coming off one bad season with years of previous success should have at least the benefit of the doubt and shouldnt have one bad season run their ratings into the ground after their one bad season.

Yeah I'm down, just going to clarify that the pitching attributes are only based on this year though, I wouldn't be able to do the past 3 years and divide by 3 like Snake is doing for the batting. Issue or no?
