Update:

Never give a deadline around a major holiday. Im not done, I have San Francisco and San Diego left to calculate then I have to input all teams in game so if you are still following Im almost there. With no distractions (LOL) I should get it done early this week.

Thanks dude, its tough with a 10 month all over the place and my place looking like an A-Bomb was dropped on it with the crap load of toys all over LOL. I was able to get half of the Padres in this morning before work (really like A-Gon in relation to Pujols), when I get home Ill finish them off and hopefully get through Frisco. If Im able to do that this evening Ill start getting them in game. I may have off tomorrow so that will be a boon. I do not know how long the entering will take (1 maybe 2 good sittings). I would then like to sim a few seasons to see how the numbers wound up before I post it.

PP / TD - Youll get the spreadsheet when I finish tonight. I will be making subtle modifications to players when I input the set but the 3 year avgs gives a great point of reference for players (players with history of doing well/bad against Lt handers for instance coming off a poor 09 for example) so Ill do my own entering for the edits.

It can definitely get a little crazy. I'll be honest, but it's one of the reasons I like to work on them by myself.....it's so much easier to keep track of what you're trying to finish and work on.

Try Yoga and Meditation...it might help

After days (and days and days......) Its finally done.......on paper. Approximately 354 players have been averaged out. Most look real good, a few not so good LOL. Im gonna send it out to those that asked to see it but I ask that you guys please (pretty please) leave it be and let me do the in game entering. I have a plan on how I want it to look in the end with certain players whose numbers were either skewed by injury, rookies, sophmores or the occasional off year (while taking other things into account). There will be some players that will remain SCEA rated in the end especially those who saw extremely limited time.

I again want to give all the credit in the world to Bahnzo whose database made life easy.

Plus with any luck this comes out great, they dont change much in the ratings of Show 10 and I already have the data averaged out for next year as well

awesome ja I await the new rosters and the spreadsheet and am crossing my fingers that I can get something worked so we can get the pitching portion of this done...

quick question to anyone reading this thread, does a head fracture (6+ months timeline) lead to a retirement in the off-season? I really hope not b/c Matt Maloney was 7-2 with a 2.00 era in AAA!!!!!

oh and btw Knight, I saw that Yu Darvish retired due to poor fa market in a sim to figure out if i want to keep the draft the way it is or try getting different players to retire

My day off was spent at the mall with the misses and baby. Sounds great huh LOL. That being said when I get out of here in a bit (3:00 ish) my wife is working till 7:30 P, the baby is with grandma, the PS3 and laptop are all mine. That gives me 4 hours to try to get it all in. Only Knight and TD are gonna know if thats enough time to input 374 players cause I sure as hell dont LOL. So that being said itll either be up tonight or very close to finished but either way itll be done this week(end?). I will post later on with the progress.

Matt - The only thing left to edit would be the pitching ratings (not stamina or pitch type related). Unfortunately TD is tied up and I REAAAAALLLLLLLYYYYYYY dont want to do this now. Maybe in a couple of weeks Ill tinker around off of the database if TD cant but in a couple of weeks we'll be looking at Show 10. If I do it Ill do it for Show 10 (as long as the ratings system is similar and not influenced differently by any code changes). Russell if you follow this thread at all, any input on this.

Just to start, great work guys, I have been following this thread as well as using the previous roster released. The depth player wise is great, just a couple questions. Did you guys edit the player ratings, or only player names and equipment. The reason I am asking is because Cameron Maybin has a C for his speed rating as well as other players with odd speed ratings. Number two are you guys going to post the spreadsheet used for obtaining player ratings, or is it already posted some where. I had been editing MVP 05 since it came out, but since I got the Show (I know im way late but I got a ps3 with a sony tv bundle) I have been hooked and playing on this new 52 inch sony makes this game look awesome. So any input would help as I would like to get my feet wet in the editing aspect of this game. One thing I have to do for my roster is use this site http://www.fangraphs.com , for the sole purpose of editing each pitchers actual pitches and pitch speed. One thing that bugs the hell out of me is seeing a 94 mph heater then getting a 75 mph change just unreal. So I go through and make sure thats sound. Being a previous draft pick as a pitcher it drives me nuts if the pitchers speeds and pitches are solid as I can get them. I had my own spreadsheet for MVP 05 and knew how ratings equated to numbers, but I have been so hooked on playing and also having knights roster I figured I could wait till the show 10. Any info will help, thanks

love this roster, I just got the show 09 for ps3 and downloaded these right away. i was just amazed when i got to free agency in my cardinals franchise i simmed, and saw aroldis chapman in the pitchers list

No dude, Im just re-rating players based on a 3 year average using Bahnzo's database. Its the rosters as of the last day of the regular season.

Update: AL is done. Im into the NL. When I finished the AL, I simmed a few and the numbers (at least to me) look pretty good. I should be done soon (probably not today), sorry for the delay but this does take longer than I anticipated.

I will say this, I think playing games is gonna be much more challenging. Power ratings for the majority are down from SCEA so I dont think you'll be able to jack them out at will.
