Re: Knights End of Season Set

Rosters look good, I like the batting adjustments, is anyone going to edit these rosters and move players around to where they will probably be on opening day, and/or at least up until right now?

I started to mess with it, but wasn't sure if someone was already doing this or not.

Will start playing these. Other than the durability edits, these should be all editted up and chopped up ready to go right? Unfortunately I won't have as much time as I used to because the time I reserve, which is veyr little now, is used towards Call of Duty ... gah, i'll start playing anyways!

wow ja, beautiful...just beautiful... you are making me think hard about stopping my reds franchise on july 23rd right before all the excitement before the trade deadline & starting another bc those ratings are so good...hmmmm...I would start doing stuff tonight but its already 3am...argh...I do plan on releasing a set with some minor tweaks that people find and that I might find during simming (unless you've done the simming already Ja) & add in the durability edits...I am going off a personal grasp of SCEA's ratings & simming I've done in the past with my old personal set. this should take everything to another level...I won't make wholesale changes, mostly minor, going off of all injuries documented from the '09 year & those players who are injury-prone in any given season...

anyways, I saw that Knight made an appearance so Knight if I could grab your attention if I may...

        couple things...

Wilkin Castilla - 18 yr. old catcher for the Reds...fake player? can't find him anywhere

Kip Wells was the player I was searching for to be replaced by the created player Homer Bailey, as he has a B potential...looked the whole time and he was right in front of my eyes...

any chance you could do the swap for me? I've done it in franchise but plain and simple my cap skills are pathetic, especially when it comes to your expertise in face editing...

could you find a B or C rated fake fa player to swap out for the D potential Chris Heisey as well? You could re-create Wells with a player as low as a D potential, the guy is clearly on his way out of mlb imo...

again thanks for everyone including Ja & especially Knight for all the hard work...

ps...Ja can you pm me a copy of the spreadsheet? quick glancing I thought things might be low power-wise but through simming things everything comes out beautifully...Adam Dunn's power I had perceived to be low but then through simming the season he's right at 40 dingers...awesome...

are you sure the speed ratings with banhzo's tool were too out of whack? I still feel like speed is too far down throughout the league...I know coaches make an impact especially in franchise but is it b/c they were risen too much which made you think twice or what...let me know...

and to add to the durability, I'm going to check the total ab's for each player and the league leaders the next sim I get a chance to perform and see if I overall need a drop in everybody's durability...boy it would be nice to have that dl glitch gone in mlb the show 10 wouldn't it??

TD, I can get it to you later on today. I was concerned with the power numbers at first but after my initial simming very early on I saw that the numbers played out just right. A-Rod ended up always with anywhere from 32 - 40 homers, Damon between 12 - 24, Jeter 10 - 18, Matsui 20 - 27, Swisher 17 - 30, etc. (used the Yankees as my team in franchise mode during this run, all injuries off at this point). My only concern now when it came to power was gonna be how the user games played with power down. There were players (like Dunn) with 89 ratings in power who are now in the 70's (high 60's). It may have to come from some slider adjustment if you see them being too low.

As far as speed goes, I also had my concerns but what the database helped me see was that the runners aggressiveness and runners awareness were huge in the ratings game as far as doubles, triples and steals go. All players have there speeds changed to the database numbers more or less. Victor Martinez who I remember being in the 30's for speed still cranked out a ton of doubles. Now there were a handful of players that needed a better handle in real life since the database crunches raw numbers. Manny Burriss is a good example of that, the database if I remember correctly gave him a 61 speed. Being the fantasy guru that I am (LMAO) I know this kid has tremendous raw speed so I kicked him up a bit.

There were some players that I didnt touch that had limited exposure but were up at some points. Cameron Maybin is one off the top of my head being that he didnt have much more than a few weeks of service before he got banished by that sage Freddy Gonzalez only to return and tear up September.

That sounds great, are you going to move players around to fit the 40 man rosters that we have present or will likely have Opening Day? I'm thinking about doing this, but I don't have as much experience with editing these rosters, but I'd like to get my Braves and the rest of the teams to where I think they will be Opening Day so I can play one last franchise before MLB 10 comes out.

no man these are for the mlb 09 the show. i don't think it'll make much sense going through all that trouble when in two or so months, a huge roster update will be coming in called mlb 10.

but thirddegree, when do you expect to have some time to make the durability edits? i think that's the last edit i'll wait for and then i'm going to play my 09 season for a couple games. will enjoy playing the players i'll miss next season (rafael soriano, mike gonzalez, javier vazquez, etc.)

Downloaded the roster and have not yet played any games, but am interested in seeing how they play out. My main concern is the development of potential (a,b,c,) players. Franchise mode is most important to me personally speaking and I have assisted Knight in providing top rate information on potential players.

IE. I generally sim a season to see how the numbers stack up against real life statistics and database them as attributes may change.

If anyone should need prospect info and projectable attributes let me know.

KSig I downloaded your rosters, and they were pretty good, have you updated them lately?

I really just want a roster with all of the attributes correct like in these, but with the players moved around to the correct team or projected team. I may take on the task of doing this if I get some time, so if anyone wants them when I'm done, let me know.

I just want to play one more franchise with 2010 projected rosters and accurate PR's.

KSig, the potential players (minors) are all Knights work. I did not touch, create or edit any of the ratings from his original EOS set. They should play out exactly the same as they would have from any of the previous releases of this particular set. In fact their progression should allow jumps in the power ratings back to how SCEA originally planned (like power ratings in the high 80's and 90's for the real elite) unlike the edits. Hopes this helps.

Re: Knights End of Season Set

what's up os world, the durability tweaks have been made and are posted on the vault under the simple file name of: durabilityedits

no major wholesale changes as I mentioned before, but a handful of odd-jobs were tweaked (capuano with milwaukee, jake westbrook, willis w/ det. - edited his control and durability, isringhausen tb, Hideki Matsui, etc. etc.)...I also took the liberty of making some minor changes to some pitchers attributes that SCEA ignored....

those worth mentioning include: matt latos sd, charlie morton pit, tommy hunter tex, the two rooks in oakland, Bud Norris houston,

b/c durability affects a couple things I did not want to screw things around too much, and b/c of the way the line-ups and 40-mans are set in the AL I didn't see much tinkering needed with the DH's.

since I'm a perfectionist I do still want to get a version out there with the pitch attribute edits but as of now things are a no-go b/c my pc is fried & money problems keep me from fixing that....if things change I will certainly let you know fellas...

as far as i know matt, this is all we've done to knight's v2pmeos set
                            - some and surprisingly a good amount of stances/motions have been added and fixed to all minor league & major league players (whoever did this thank you...knight would know)
                            - razr's pitch & stamina edits have been added - stamina to ensure proper cpu management of relievers & starters, pitch edits to fix SCEA's wacky & incorrect pitch selections for players and to fix the straight as an arrow fourseamer.
                            - durabilty tweaked based on injury prone players, those out for an extended time in 2010 & those that missed a good amount of 2009 due to injury
                            - and last but not least in any form - all batting attributes RE-RATED by the mastermind & god himself JaSnake

no stat glitch, 40-man & 25-man rosters set to the last day of the regular season....

anybody up for re-rating the pitchers w/ banzho's tool?

there is one fake player - Wilkin Castilla (18 yr. old catcher on CIN) I'm not sure what to do with him...
