Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
The Pirates are batting the pitcher in the 8 spot. DUMB, the pitchers totally need to get more ABs this year.Comment

Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
actually, not dumb at all. they are doing it so they can move mccutchen to the 2 spot and by moving the pitcher to 8th, they set themselves up for mccutchen to drive in more runs while still getting more at bats and being closer to the leadoff spot than he would from the 3 spot.

Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
also, i'm not sure the exact spot, but the pirates were in the top 5 for innings started with the pitcher leading off, which this obviously does a little to avoid. you don't wanna move mccutchen to the third spot yet, because he doesn't have enough power to be a true 3rd man in the lineup this early in his career. it's really not a bad idea as most people think.Comment

Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
Knowing the Pirates they will probably trade McCutchen soon, they love having prospects and losing seasons.
NHL: Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks
OHL: London Knights
MLB: Miami Marlins, Toronto Blue Jays
Frontier League baseball: London RippersComment

Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
Just a few questions I dont think have been answered yet
1) When will these rosters be out?
2) Will they consist of all minor league players?
3) What about the kid who grew up next door to me and now is in Single A..will he be in? Will you make his potential an A? Because that's what I have him as
4) When will Jim Edmunds be in the game? He made the Brewers roster
5) Jason Heyward will have 99 ratings across the board right?
6) If it's opening day, will these rosters be out?
(this was sarcasm)Comment

Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
I don't see him being a horrible pick. I understand it was a money issue but he has been suprisingly good. I really like Doumit but I don't see him long term unless he changes positions.Comment

Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
How we doing fellas? I dont have any updates for the community, but I did go 4-5 in my mens league the other day and destroyed my knee sliding into second base. High School fields are not nearly as well groomed as College and Minor League fields. I may retire after my first game! I can barely bend my knee, major raspberry on my outter upper thigh, ripped up knee, and scraped up ankle all from a normal pop slide into second base or should I say the pavement!Comment

Re: O.S. Full Minors 2010
Orioles updates:
They named David Hernandez the 5th starter instead of Chris Tillman, who will start the season in AAA Norfolk.
Rotation is now locked:
Kevin Millwood
Jeremy Guthrie
Brian Matusz
Brad Bergesen
David Hernandez
Likely bullpen:
Mark Hendrickson (long relief)
Jason Berken
Matt Albers
Will Ohman
Cla Meredith
Jim Johnson (setup man)
Mike Gonzalez (closer)
Koji Uehara will start the year on the DL.
Also, it's increasingly likely that Craig Tatum will win the backup catcher role over Chad Moeller.
Robert Andino, Ty Wigginton and Felix Pie are on the Orioles bench. Justin Turner and Lou Montanez were sent down to AAA.Comment
