    Re: All-Timers Teams

That's not the Giants roster, but it is pretty close. I have two guys left for the D-Backs, but will have them done today. Sorry for the delay. Personal issues have had me unfocused and pretty drained. The Colorado Rockies shouldn't take long (I know I've said that before) are next:

    SP Ubaldo Jimenez
    SP Aaron Cook
    SP Jorge de la Rosa
    SP Jeff Francis
    SP Pedro Astacio
    RP Bruce Ruffin
    RP Manuel Corpas
    RP Jose Jimenez
    RP Curt Leskanic
    CP Brian Fuentes

    C Joe Girardi
    C Miguel Olivo
    1B Andres Galarraga
    1B Todd Helton
    2B Eric Young (Sr.)
    2B Clint Barmes
    SS Troy Tulowitski
    SS Neifi Perez
    3B Vinny Castilla
    OF Larry Walker
    OF Dante Bichette
    OF Matt Holliday
    OF Ellis Burks
    OF Carlos Gonzalez
    OF Brad Hawpe

Have you gotten to the Dodgers, Padres, and Giants yet? I'm anxious to see the finished product for this All-Timers Team roster set.

I've been having a rough time personally, so real life has pretty much sapped any motivation I've had lately. Each day is getting a little better, so I'm hoping to at least finish the Rockies today, but it might be late as I might go out and see a movie or two later on. Sorry this has been stalled so long.

I'd hate to meet that rotation in a best of 5!

                  Re: All-Timers Teams

                  Hey Mysterio,

Absolutely love that you are doing these rosters. Absolutely hate that you are having any difficulties in your personal life. Hang in there.

Now, for the dodgers roster. I know how difficult it is to pick between one player and another as I have created personal All-Time Dodgers teams for myself in the past.

Steve Sax & his brother Dave played for my dad in the minors at Vero Beach so needless to say, I love Steve and how hard he always played. Personally though, I would go with Dave Lopes. He was one of the best best base stealers of his time, if not in quantity then in quality(not often thrown out). He also hit as many as 28 HR's in a single season. I don't think defense is that much of a difference to outweigh Lopes offensive contributions. I know Sax had higher batting averages and could steal a base on occasion, but generally a singles hitter.

Also, I would love to have seen Tommy Davis on this team. He had what I would consider the greatest season in LA Dodger history in 1962. He would be talked about a lot more as one of the great hitters of his time if not for the terrible ankle injury he suffered.

I'm probably in the minority, but I would like to see more true relievers in these rosters rather than loading them up with starters for the most part. For instance, Ron Perranoski, Jim Brewer, Jay Howell and others for the Dodgers.

Sorry for the length of the post, it in no way indicates my displeasure with your choices. I just love my Dodgers and love talking about them. In my opinion, baseball in the '50's to '70's was the greatest time to be a fan

Hope all comes out well for you, and I really do love what you are doing.

                    Re: All-Timers Teams

Thanks for your comments. Sax was a personal choice because he was my favorite player as a kid. Just loved his hustle and the way he played. I knew that Lopes should probably go on before him, but it was my sentimental choice that got him onto the team. Lopes is a shoe-in for the 40-Man Rosters, which will also feature more middle relievers.

The problem is that middle relievers don't get the recognition they deserve and are often overlooked, so I'll admit to not being as educated on them as much as starters and closers. I do plan on doing the necessary research for the 40-man rosters, but right now, I wanted to concentrate on getting the best of the best out there and worry about the details I'm less educated on later. I can't imagine having this roster going without the possibility of someone like Tom Neidenfuer coming in to blow a big game.

That said, I can't believe that it's taken me the entire season to get to the end. Oh, well

Like fine wine, quality rosters can't be rushed.(G) Do what you have to do, when you want to do it.

Yeah, Sax obviously was a personal favorite of mine as well.

                      Thanks,

Mysterio Quick question. Can we franchise with these rosters? i ask this because currently the best legends rosters in the vault are pretty much unusable due to the fact that mostly everyone's potential is a D or F

It's more for playing and enjoying them, instead of going through 10 seasons with them

When dealing with an all-time roster such as this one, I believe it would be near impossible to match everyone up with their potential - there just aren't enough A's and B's to go around for something like that. I'm not complaining about it, either, because obviously you don't want a league full of players with A or B potential (with normal rosters). Although if you could change a players potential...

Like Joey said, there's not enough A or B or even C potentials to go around and make everyone's potential accurate. These rosters aren't specifically made to play in franchise mode, but it would be interesting to try.

I plan on doing a Season mode where I play every game for every team. Probably will never finish the season, but any time I want to play with All-Time rosters, I'll just pop this roster in and play. My personal life is somewhat back to normal (or as normal as it will be from here on), so hopefully the Dodgers will get done today and I can make some progress on the Padres. Having a tough time filling out their roster at the moment.

For the Expos/Nationals, I would've went with Nick Johnson over Adam Dunn at 1B.
