Re: All-Timers Teams
Its been a while since I have been on here, so I cant remember if I ever posted in here or not. Anyway, cant wait to try these out.
I know I am in the minority around here, but I am a believer in if a player is considered an all time great for multiple teams, he should be on multiple teams. I have been making all time rosters on every game since High Heat 2003 (which is kinda misleading since that and MVP 2005 are the only ones I have actually went through the process). I even made the Cubs on this game, but decided I didn't feel like going through it all again.
Anyway, like I said, I know I am in the minority so please don't take my comments as criticism... So far, these rosters look amazing... If I built them myself, with players on only one team, these are about as perfect as they could be.
What are you basing their ratings on? I have always tried to base my ratings on a players best season with that team, or best two seasons. I always figured if I am making the greatest, I want them to be at their best. I am always looking for better ways to more accurately build my own rosters though, so that's why I am asking.
Anyway, cant wait to see them.Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
I've been using Bahnzo's Roster Tools. Earlier AL teams are a little skewed and will be re-rated before the final release as I used a lot of career stats at the beginning (which factors in declining years), but most teams I have been using weighted ratings of their 3 best consecutive years. I didn't think guys should be invincible, but I really don't want declining years to be a factor in the ratings. Some of the guys from pre-1954 have been taken from their most similar post-1954 batter and re-rated slightly after comparing the two's career stats.
I have been working nonstop at my job for the past 4 days, but hope to have the Cards done tomorrow at some point when I've had some rest.
UPDATE: I have zero motivation today...hopefully, I'll get them done by tomorrow.Last edited by MysterioMan007; 08-16-2010, 05:33 PM.Comment

Edit: Also I forgot to ask: will Al Leiter be somewhere in the Mets system? Also is Mark Mulder going to be with either Oakland or St. Louis?Last edited by obscureguy; 08-18-2010, 02:21 AM.Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
I signed up today simply to thank you for your work on these rosters. I've been playing this game since launch and even the unfinished version of these rosters has gotten me even more addicted. I'm having an absolute blast with them as they are, and I plan on starting both a new season and new franchise with the final version. Thanks again!

Sorry the Cards are taking so long, guys. Some personal issues have cropped up and these have taken a back seat. I got a few guys done today and only have some pitchers left, but I hope to have the Cards done at least by Friday.Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
Hey, what are these listed under? Apparently you have the unfinished ones up, so i would like to try them. I d/l some rosters the other day, with something like 600 classic players, but I wasn't sure if they were yours or not.
Sadly, i dont have HD tv, so i cant scroll to the side and re order the roster uploads by date, I just have to go through them til i find the right roster name.Comment

Re: All-Timers Teams
I think they were something like AL All Time or AL Complete or something like that. Since you can't sort on the Vault, if you have a flash/thumb drive you can just follow this link (I also posted it on page 10 for Mysterio) and DL them that way. If you don't have a flash drive, you can pick one up at Walmart for $10.
