    Hey Guys,

I'm taking requests of Major League Players only.

I could use your help. Who have I forgotten on my mostly 50's & 60's BigKlu's Legendary Roster?
I need names of players from the beginning of Baseball to 1970 that are not on this roster.

I will start by creating the Pirates SS Arky Vaughan. (thanks)
edit: Arky Vaughan is up in my BigKlu vault.

Please focus on the teams that are short of 25 players but I'm also
interested in any outstanding player of any team or one of your old time favorites. On all the teams that are under 25 all I need is Pitchers.
Can you place their name number height weight and if they throw and bat left or right. thanks...

Re: OS All-Time Classic Roster (The Show '12)

Here is what I've been using to create guys. If anyone wants people to fit in with the current roster, it's a fairly simple process. I posted it earlier but I'm not sure that the formulas were able to be viewed:

      https://docs.google.com/a/washington..****FBTS0E#gid=0

For anybody wanting to add any players, here are the formulas that I have been using for the last few years, and for this roster. Granted I was doing all this in my head when creating the players, but this is what I was basing everything off of. I'm sure they are not perfect, but the results have always been very good.

      Here's what I was doing

      1. Find the player on Baseball reference.com
      2. Hit "splits", and select "career"
      3. Hit
View splits adjusted to be per 162 games or 650 PAs
      (Willie Stargell)
      4. Plug in the formulas for vs Rt and LT handed pitchers

If you have any questions, or need help feel free to ask.

Jerome Walton, Dwight Smith, and Joe Borowski were some of my favorite Cubbies! I would be forever grateful if you could even come close to nailing their likenesses. I have tried every other year, but your work sir is magnificent.

Here are a few 1970 or earlier Minnesota Twins all timers:

            Name - # - Pos - Ht - Wt - B - T
            Tony Oliva - 6 - RF - 6'1" - 175 - L - R
            Bob Allison - 4 - LF - 6'3" - 205 - R - R
            Cesar Tovar - 12 - CF - 5'9" - 155 - R - R
            Earl Battey - 10 - C - 6'1" - 205 - R - R
            Jimmie Hall - 7 - CF - 6'0" - 175 - L - R
            Zoilo Versalles - 2 - SS - 5'10" - 146 - R - R
            Bert Blyleven - 28 - SP - 6'3" - 200 - R - R
            Jim Perry - 31 - SP - 6'4" - 190 - S - R
            Pedro Ramos - 28 - SP - 6'0" - 175 - S - R
            Al Worthington - 15 - RP - 6'0" - 195 - R - R
            Dave Boswell - 23 - SP - 6'3" - 185 - R - R

Also, you might want to move Oil Can Boyd and Roger Bresnehan to different teams. Oil Can Boyd never played for Minnesota or Washington and Roger Bresnahan only played 6 games for Washington.

Re: OS All-Time Classic Roster (The Show '12)

                Thanks Guys,

Twins are complete with Dave Boswell, Al Worthington, Jim Perry and Bert Blyleven... I sent these along with Arky Vaughan and Jerome Walton.

Jerome wasn't needed as I only mostly need Pitchers from the 50's and 60's on the following teams:

                8 Tigers
                1 Athletics
                4 Phillies
                8 Cubs
                6 Pirates
                4 Giants

Just to make clear as to where I'm going with my "BigKlu Legendary Roster".
Over the last several years the "16 Classic Teams has been my focus.

I need to stay in control of my players. My plan is to use our OS Classic Roster as a base. Keeping my players together as a team and adding them to the OS 25 man Roster. There might not be alot of us oldtimers out there who would remember these players but for those that do I hope they enjoy my addition.

I'm hoping that next year SCEA lets us choose how many teams we want to use in Franchise. If I can choose 16 teams I will buy another PS3 and manually transfer all my players along with their attributes on to the
MLB 13 The Show game.( visually copy ) If so I believe it could be done in 2 weeks.

                Thanks,

Oh...I remember and appreciate your efforts! I turned 56 in March and remember watching Maris/Mantle on Black and White tv back in 61 (channel 11 - WPIX - NY).

I'd love to see a set of teams from 1960-1969 or so...teams like the 61 Reds, 65 Dodgers, 67 Cards, 68 Tigers, 69 Pilots, 64 Colt 45's, 67 Red Sox, 65 White Sox, 65 Indians, etc. I love the alltime franchise teams, but it is also great to see guys like Wayne Causey, Gary Peters, Horace Clarke, Leon Wagner, Jerry Adair, etc on teams...

Re: OS All-Time Classic Roster (The Show '12)

Finally got around to getting the roster a few hours ago, and let me commend everybody on the hard work on this, it's amazing.

I only played one game with it, Giants vs. Yankees at AT&T Park. I thought the game was going to be easy after hitting solo shots with Travis Jackson and Willie Mays in the bottom of the first off of Ron Guidry, but I then was suitably humbled and gave up nine unanswered runs. Not to make excuses, but it took me a while to keep my focus on the pitching meter with all the old-timey arms-a-flailing windups (and in Marichal's case, leg-a-kicking). Although I still plan on focusing my attention on my franchise, I now have a more than capable diversion from micro-managing.
When the Giants come to town, it's Bye Bye Baby...

Scooter helped me with this but I was wondering if there is another trick because I cannot get Elston Howard #32 to stick in season mode. TY scooter for this:

                            Go to edit player...

edit your players number to correct number...

                            accept changes then save roster...

Go to Roster Control and find your team and player...

Select and click Manage Roster /Import Player...

                            click on player...

click export player and type his name then click enter...

click player from new window you will see:
Do you want to save this data?

                            click yes...

                            save your roster...

pick any minor leaguer click x and a window will appear:

                            click "Import Position Player"

click on your player from new window...

you will end up with two players that are the same except one will have the correct number. Bring the guy with the right number to the majors and send
the guy with the wrong number to the minors.
                            save roster.

BTW thanks for this roster. It is awesome and I will try to contribute with some faces.

I play controlling every team, not sure if it makes a difference. To get a retired number in season mode, it's pretty simple:

                              1. Send your player to the minors.

                              2. Make sure no one else is wearing it, edit the player's number, change it if it's the correct, then change it back to the right one, save the edit. (don't save entire roster, just the edit)

                              3. Go to the master roster control (I believe it's the bottom on in that screen). Send them back to the majors.
If you send them back up with the other roster control it won't work.

                              Hope that helps.

Thanks but I tried to make Yogi Berra # 8 using the Classic Roster and did the above but he keeps changing back to #14 once I move him to the majors via the roster control button on the bottom of the screen. I do not see any other # 8's on the yankee classic roster.
