I've imported some players from hoser's roster into pjsnell's and they are great as well
Pitching, defense and 2 out RBIs win a lot of ball games!

      Hey pj,

I"m working on a 16 original team roster. ohdannyboy and I were working
together for a while but we had two different ideas and it didn't work out.

That AL version had many of my faces that have been altered on ohdannyboys roster. I don't know if he downloaded them altered or he altered them himself. Either way it's trashing my work and it's wrong!!

Maybe SCEA can set up the vault to give us the tools to protect our work.

I'm moving to the west coast soon so I hope to get finished with my roster after I'm settled. Thanks for your interest capa.

Wow...wonder why he did that. Stealing others work is not cool. Brutal.

Yes..love your stuff so keep me in the loop as to when you finish your teams. I am tryimg to tackle a 1960's league (65 White Sox, 67 Red Sox, 64 Phils, etc)...it's grueling as you know but I am going to try to stick with it...

Re: OS All-Time Classic Roster (The Show '12)

I find rosters in the vault all the time with players from the Rockies and/or Twins that I created. I've seen my Viola, Kaat, Blyleven, Radke, Battey, Versalles, Oliva, Brunansky, Tovar, Ritz, Jennings, Astacio, Reed, Ruffin, Galarraga, Young, Castilla, Bichette, Burks, and many others used in many, many, rosters. Some of the time they aren't altered but some of the time they are. I am not given credit for the players I created and quite frankly I don't expect any. If anything it makes me smile that others are using the players I created.

If anyone puts a roster or an individual player up in a public location like the vault then it's expected that others can and should use them as they wish. It's a public forum where you are giving away your work for free with no strings attached. If you don't want others to use, and reuse, and abuse your work then you shouldn't put it in the public vault.

Well said Hoser, the key word here is "public". If you put your stuff out there and it can be changed "get over it!" I appreciate everyone's hard work and adjustments!

I've never had a problem with people editing player's I've created. Once they're in the vault, anybody can do whatever they want with them as far as I'm concerned. It's not like we're being paid for any of this stuff. I've downloaded a bunch of Jose Canseco's from the vault looking for a better one than mine, and about 90% of the time, it's the one I uploaded. The only time I've ever been bugged was when someone "disliked" a player I had made last year, and then promptly uploaded that player as their own into the vault. Seemed a bit goofy to me.

Most of the players on the roster were taken from the vault, and then "edited" by me for my liking. I would grab random players already with the name ht/wt etc just to cut out a few steps, just saved a little time. Like I've said before on here, if the face was decent I'd leave it alone, if not, I'd change it. I'd then add all the equipment and stats.

It's too bad the other roster ran into some problems, it's tough getting everyone on the same page when doing these kinds of rosters.

PJSnell10 may I have your permission to use all the OS All Time Roster in order to list all the attributes of each player so that next year MLB 13 on the day of release I will post each OS ALL TIME player in order that face makers like Scooter, maize, Dr. Sublime, yourself etc. can then refer to those attributes so that we can have a 2013 version much earlier next season.

Since I am not a good face maker I figured this could be my contribution.

Yeah, that would be great. Only thing is is that I can't say if a roster like this will be made next year.

I just finished buying all of Roger Maris' original baseball cards from ebay, been on a Maris kick lately. I've been toying with the idea of making the 1961 season either this year or next. I've been wanting to do a season with that custom league alignment.

I wish there was a way you can export a franchise roster. I tweak these in franchise mode, editing the teams I play. It takes a few games to tweak the playstyle and characteristics.
Steelers, Penguins, Penn State, Pirates, Red Sox, Manchester United.

Roger Maris's 61 home runs still is the record to beat at least in my heart.
What he did should be a lesson to all of us. If any of you guys get a chance to see 61' (the movie) check it out. It's my favorite Baseball film.
The actors even look like the Yankee players!

I guess we just disagree on the philosophy of "grab it - distort it - call it your own"
Guess I'm just too much old school pre-steroid type of a guy...

Just on a personal level I think we all have something unique to offer.
None of us is an island.

I'm happy to have been a part of pj's roster and very happy to see that people seem to be enjoying it.

I'm not sure what old school pre-steroid has to do with uploading something to a public vault and understanding what that means. Anything uploaded to a public location becomes available to anyone that has access to that public location. Once you put something in a public location for others to download you lose the right to dictate how it should be used.

For what it's worth... I was at Met Stadium in 1965 when the Twins played the Dodgers in the World Series. I also saw many of the great players like Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Bob Gibson, and many others play well before the "steroid era". Even a baby boomer like myself understands that if you don't want others to use, reuse, and abuse your stuff then don't give it away in a public forum like the vault.

                          capa,

I'm happy to keep you posted. And please Keep me posted on your 60's Roster. your welcome to use any of my players from my BigKlu Player Vault.

I'm working every day on revamping my existing players and adding new ones. My goal is to offer a 40 man 16 classic team roster using only my created faces.
Not sure if I will release it this season or wait for 2013. All I can guarantee is it will be my best effort to date.

If you end up doing 61, I'll jump back in the roster game with ya. Anything I can do to help. That sounds like a ton of fun going through old cards and whatnot. I'd wait until next year to start it though, but we could always do prep work if any can be done such as maybe an excel spreadsheet w/ pitchers/pitch types/velocity etc.

Already working on spreadsheets with statistics. I'm going with 14 position players, and 11 pitchers, 25 man rosters. Probably won't take that long to make, there's only 18 teams. I'm slowly making my way through 2 seasons right now, so I'll wait to do them next year.

That sounds cool man...let me know what I can do to help in the meantime...also been slowly making my way through 2 different seasons while playin a lot of the Supermod of NBA2k12 (250+ classic teams is so awesome - can you imagine if this was possible for The Show - unfortunately it is also much easier to throw together 12-15 players than 25-40+)
