I did a fantasy draft and it was WAY better than with normal rosters. Also I had a few guys over 40 hr's. The MVP of the NL or AL (can't remember) was Mark Reynolds and his 51 hr's. He hit in the .280's as well. That ofcourse is a bit off :P
Updated #'s will be much better

Anyone down to help turn this set into an OD set? I also want to do a ZIPs projections for the minor leaguers. If we do this right, we could include all the draft picks of significance for Mondays draft.

Why exactly was Kershaw's ratings diminished? I mean, he was the NL Cy Young last year.

And Andre Ethier below Billingsley, Harang, Gwynn Jr, and Mark Ellis? What?

I did, and it still doesnt make sense for Kershaw or Ethier.

For example, Ethier was a gold glover last year, fielding ability should be higher than 56. He was hurt last year causing a decrease in power, this year he is hitting left handers much better, 50 for lefty power is too low.

Pitching clutch for Kershaw at 41 is too low.

I completely agree... even in looking beyond the overall there is absolutely no reason why some people should be rated that high in the first place.

David Wright is rated quite poorly while he is a having a career year and Brad Emaus, a AAA 2B hitting .260 is the 3rd best player on the Mets. I understand that their overall doesn't necessarily reflect skill but why in the world are those 2 players rated that high/low when it should be completely opposite? What stats could possibly skew their overall that drastically?

I would really appreciate you posting that calculator. I prefer ratings based on stats rather than projections. That's not a knock on these rosters at all, it's just my personal preference.

i think the rosters are fine after i have simmed through a couple seasons to see the stats. some people have higher overals because of their fielding not because of their hitting. For example look at jeter and the yanks other SS. Jeter is rated second but that is because his fielding is worse. Now idk how his fielding is worse when he has always seemed like a good fielder but hey these guys know the sabermetrics stats i dont lol. Doin a great job scott and i cant wait for the updated one to come out!

Yeah Scott sure is doing one heck of a job with these. If you play a few games and Jose Bautista is popping out and Eric Thames is ripping the cover off the ball you will understand just how realistic these play out. Oh and dont think for one second that the likes of Bautista stay cold.

I've already calculated pitching #'s and Marino for you wondering about Kershaw, here's his updated stats.....

                            Clutch: 78
                            Stamina: 94
                            H/9: 79
                            HR/9: 77
                            SO/9: 86
                            BB/9: 78

These are based off ZiPS (U) which factors in projections+stats from this season. His clutch is pretty much the highest of any player edited.

Scott, do you know where I can find the formulas for the pitching? The new sheet is much improved. On one page you enter your player in and then get ratings based both on stats as well as ZiPS. I'll post it either tonight or tomorrow. If you get me the formulas for pitchers, I can create the sheets for the pitchers as well.

You guys need to remember that only guys with ZiPS projections were edited, that would be all major leaguers and maybe a handful of minor leaguers. To the David Wright/Brad Emaus guy, the ZiPS projections used were done pre-season, Scott is now in the process of incorporating the updated projections for his next set, where David Wright goes from .269/.351/.447 to .313/.406/.505

I'm not sure how Emaus ended that high, he was projected to hit .257 pre-season and looking at his Fangraphs page shows me he is rated a 33 overall defensively.
