    Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters

You stated your opinion.....many many many times. Once is ok, twice might be reasonable. The amount you do it in a thread for this particular fictional roster thread that was created by Curhee for myself and creator2700 to communicate about the fictional roster and to the community gets side tracked by your types of comments. They aren't productive.

Would you tell knight that the OFSM isn't his thread and you can discuss what you want in it? This is no different. Maybe we should get a mode to close this thread and we'll create our own thread and continue on there with progress, asking for help and post pics and community challenges so we can keep garbage out of it. Sad this comes to that

Nobody owns these threads; I've had threads where I asked a VERY specific question, and then had mods tell me I had no right to tell people they couldn't post what they wanted in it simply because I didn't like it.

You tend to read what you want and define it in your own way. That's cool, your choice. What isn't cool is being insulting. If you guys are so desperate about this, why not just PM each other and stop posting on a PUBLIC thread?

I'll tell you why, because you want to act as owners. I have a feeling Knight would be one of the first to tell you it is NOT his thread. He simply collates the information for others.

Anything said in this thread that is deemed even remotely dissatisfying gets attacked. If they are that bad, ignore them. It is a PUBLIC thread.

      Yikes!

Kind of doesn't seem like I'm the first one you've attacked, though you've done it more than once. I looked back through this thread and there are clearly other examples as well. If you guys want private communications, use e-mail or PM.

You called someone else a child, you called me unproductive. Then, you are the one complaining about people's posts. Seems like the reverse might be the case.

Just stopping by to back up the above poster on this. Any dissenting comments regarding these rosters (constructive or otherwise) are met with undue bitterness and rancor. They love to solicit and receive contributions, but get all maliciously defensive when people try to have a say in how their contributions are used.

Not cool. If you'd rather have a private endeavor where you can control what people can or cannot talk about, then shut this thread down and stop soliciting and accepting public assistance. (Mods should look into this)

            Re: 2014 OS FICTIONAL rosters

I've never attacked anyone or had issue with constitutive critism. I have had an issue with someone derailing the thread by repeating a personal preference that was addressed in a polite manner to only have that opinion repeated over and over and over again. And the other person wasn't being constructive in the critism of the length of time and pouting for an unfinished product to be released. Big difference. The respect goes both ways and people complaining and not offering anything useful will not get happy warm and fuzzy responses. It's simple really. Be polite, on topic and respectful...it will be returned.

You have, but it's okay, you're from Canada.

There have been times where you've been polite, and others were you haven't. I wasn't speaking only of you, though, I was referring to the "you" as a collective voice of the 3 or 4 people who have wanted this thread to be, for lack of a better term, private.

Believe it or not, your work is well appreciated (at least, I have loved and helped as I could on the last 3 years worth of Fantasy Rosters), but there is definitely a "say the kind of things we want or get out" attitude within this thread.

You could always communicate privately if it bothers you so much. Others have opinions. My comment that theoretically "de-railed" this thread was not specifically about my opinion on what I want, but the idea of having to go back and re-edit some 1,200 players and the long laborious task that will be (after a long, laborious task to begin with). You didn't hear that, though, all you heard was that I was complaining about my opinion not dominating your editing. Therefore, the comment about hearing what you want.

Never complained about time either, but sure enough Creator makes a defensive statement about that, too.

Thanks for your work. If you were polite, you'd generally get politeness back. Calling people children is not polite, nor are several of the other insults. Shame it has come to this.

It is quite a shame. You could learn something from following your own advice, in my OPINION.

I play sports games and spend way too much time making rosters.

In other words, this is taking a long time. I am not at all complaining, but in the 4 years I have watched these things made, it never took much longer than a month.

This is now going on it's 3rd month, and you really think people will continue to talk about nothing but this the whole time? Especially in today's "Right Now!" world? Seems unlikely to me...
As for the time comment, it's right up there. Even though you specifically state you AREN'T complaining, the statement still looks, smells, feels, tastes, and sounds like complaining.

I think making a rude comment about my nationality trumps any implied insult you think I directed towards you or anyone else. The child comment was about someone stomping their feet and not getting their own way after being explained how his idea was actually much more time consuming. I'm quite happy talking my ball and going home and completing my part for myself. This has become far too much of a hassle being called out on a regular basis both in the thread and pm's for a volunteer "job" that people constantly critique and aren't actively helping on. My feeling close it down creator2700 and I will continue privately as suggested and enjoy our work. Thanks fellas for the suggestion

Maybe a mod will see this and close it down. Anybody working on the rosters with us or interested in doing so can pm me or email me if you have my email. As for the rosters, we'll work at our own pace, to the quality we strive for, and they'll be done when they're done. For more info, you can pm me.

Thanks to the guys who have actually been helping out and not complaining about this or that, we appreciate it. Our biggest contributors will be the first to test these rosters.

It's a shame we can't continue to openly post about our project here, but this has gone too far. From now on, this roster set is a private project. Myself, MLB Bob, and the other members of this team will be glad to share information on it if anybody has questions, and we will still gladly accept any help.

EDIT: We will consider opening a new thread once we are close to release. For info, pm me.

Thanks again to those who helped out and eagerly await the release of these rosters... Farewell for now.

I'm in June of a Dodgers franchise. Even if I had these rosters, I wouldn't use them for a long time.

You want to find insult in it, therefore you did.

I believe it has been 4 years I have been somehow involved in these Fictional Rosters, and aside from lescan, you guys clearly take the cake for being childish about it.

You read what you want into other people's interests, and choose to get offended. The guy who made people and then wanted a chance to use it and was told flat out no was quite correct.

How do you say; see ya', eh!
