    BTW--Good luck on that test.
That's good to hear. I haven't played enough games to make any clear decision on whether or not it is an actual problem. Hopefully it's not as bad as some people have made it out to be.

Thanks for sending some luck my way! I'm going to need it... class average for the last test was a 64% (though I pulled an 84%... whew!).

Good work on the sliders. Can't wait to play some more games.

I would suggest errors at +6 still hard to get errors...I think its broken

I mean, online, even with MORE errors on...I have seen maybe 2 in 32 games

But anyway, you guys must have reflexes like a cat...no way I will try these, at my age and with my eyes, I would have a AA offense

          Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks

It looks like I am only getting one in tonight. I started my regular season, but I took an hour with all of my franchise budget things...I forgot how overwhelming that was.

          Anyway opening night...Yanks at A's

          NYY 3R 8H 0E
          OAK 4R 7H 0E

Oakland gets a walkoff single from Mark Kotsay in the bottom of the 9th off of Tanyon Sturtze. Why I didn't have Mo in the game at that point is beyond me!?! I guess I am a little rusty.

Arod and Matsui had 6 of my 8 hits. I had 3 2b's and zero HR's. Oakland had 2 homers (Thomas and Dan Johnson). I walked twice (Arod in the first, Matsui in the 6th--it was one of the unintentional-intentional deals.) I walked 1.

          Zito 7.1 innings 7 hits 3ER 2BB 7K He was at 91 pitches to start the 8th.

          Unit--6 inn, 3 H, 3ER, 1BB, and 3K. He finished up with 81 pitches.

I liked the feel. Errors could be an issue, but I had errors in my games the last few nights. We'll keep playing around.

Thanks for everyone trying them out. Let me know what goes. I will be back on tomorrow.

            (Ten Innings)

            Notes:
            • I struck out 20 times! (First game on Hall of Fame and adjusting to Wide view had a lot to do with this)
            • I had four doubles and a triple (only one double was the ground-rule variety)
            • Both teams walked twice
            • Only 1 homer in the game, Colorado's Barmes off Redman.
            • Hit variety was great, had some sharp line drives, weakly hit grounders, foul balls straight back, foul balls down the line, etc.

I think these sliders are going to work out great for me. Just need a few more games to cut down on the strikeouts, and I'll be good to go.

            -Ryan
Ryan--Thanks for the feedback. Strikeouts will come down. My first game on wide view I had something like 15 K's. I'm glad you're liking them. Let me know how things are going.

The errors are weird to me. I will play around with it. I probably will play a few exhibitions with it at +6 and see what happens.

LOL about the reflexes thing. As you can see by my totals, I struggle on offense. It's tough getting old, but we gotta keep battling.

                  Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks

In Spring Trainign with my not so talented players I have seen about 3 errors in 7 games...a small sample size, but one that makes feel ok to raise it to +7

I also want to see if that +7 error on the CPU will stop the GG insanity of SS's having .998 F% and such

As for arm strength....I think it should be on +1 or +2 , you cannot dive and get even a slow guy out at 1st from the SS and in the OF...WAAAY too many triples...arm strength will cut this down, and it will be about a 90% chance you will be out trying to steal on anything but a slow pitch (curve, CU, knuckleball)

BUT lower arm accuracy, you will see many different animations including hops, digs in the dirt if you have it at -5

I keep baseruning aggression on default, they go for extra bases enough as it is

                    Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks

Just finished, it was a pitching battle type game Zito had me ON LOCKDOWN i went hitless for about 4 innings, i was doing the same to them but in the 5th they got a hit and a double with 1 out. Now they had guys on 1st and 3rd with 1 out and they scored on a VERY HARD TO FIELD "Slow Bouncer"(very cool ball physic), it was tough to field and i could only get the guy at second, i was pissed off.

Well it went 1-0 in the 6th with Zito being soo good on the mound that in that inning he blew his arm trying to beat a bunt from Damon, my first hit!. They showed him moving his arm and bending down and then matt and rex spoke on what they thought went wrong and explained it was from him bending down and trying to throw too hard to first( cutscene came out).

Anyways i thought this was a gift or sorts because now i could get a chance to do some damage in the last innings, it was 1-0 in the 8th and up was Arod 2-2 count BOOM!! it sounded like a HR and matt did his call, but the damn thing hit the tip of the wall on center field, the AI playing me deep only allowed for a double.

Well i had my chance to tie the game, AI walks the next batter and actually get me to do a DOUBLE PLAY!( i threw my control to the bed after this), the next batter goes up and does crap, end of inning . In the 9th they scored another run with 3 hits and then it was my turn and HOUSTON STREET lock me down, game over .

                    Boxscore

                    2 / 6 / 0

                    0 / 3 / 0

                    RJ, 8 innings, 7ks,

                    Zito, 6 innings, 8ks

Overall a pretty dead game with pitching ruling all and the offense of the previous game was no where to be seen.

I would like to point out, again NO ERRORS but i noticed and liked the pitchers(me and AI) having control issues in some of the pitches and throwing a few past balls and pitches where the catcher had to adjust himself to handle.

Sounds like a great game. Based on your feedback and Potatoe's lets update the errors another 2 notches and see what happens. I will change it on my first page. Thanks again for testing.

Played my first HOF game last night using these sliders. I won 6-4. Line looked like this

                        6 14 0
                        4 7 0

I struck out the CPU 10 times with Zach Duke in 7 innings.
                        CPU hit 3 hrs.

I still feel like contact at -5 is still a little too high for Human. Is anyone playing with the human contact all the way down? If so, what type of numbers are you getting in the hit column?

I play with contact on 0 in HoF & average from 5-8 hits... Depends on the pitcher sometimes, if the pitcher tends to throw some nasty stuff I won't get many hits....

At +2 from the Default (12). With this number I can hit HR with my power hitters & even eek some out with semi-power hitters.

Looks like a good game (except for the errors--hopefully adding 2 to error slider will help). I hear ya about the contact thing. Here's my rationale...Contact at zero doesn't decrease your contact chance, it decreases your "good" contact chance. In last years game (and I tested it for 5 games this year) it felt like there were too many of the slow roller IF hits that actually made my BA's too high. 5 seemed ok to me plus this game really is dependent on whether the pitcher is dealing or not. Joe's games that he posted showed the variety in hit totals using the same teams and pitchers.

With that said, if zero works for you, that's awesome. I'm getting old and I don't hit as well as I use to (IRL and gaming). It's all about having fun and finding something that suits your style. If I become a hitting machine, maybe I will knock it down too. Thanks for the input, bro.
