    Re: Favre4vr's HOF slider tweaks

Ok I have errors at 18 for both human and CPU

6 errors in 13 games...and from the Sim standpoint, I am seeing errors across the league (YEA)

Garciaparra dropped an easy out in foul territory
Burrell dropped an easy pop to LF costing me a game
I, as the Phillies 3rd baseman throw the ball away to 1st on a rushed throw (running towards 1st and throwing)
Abreu threw it away throwing to home
Furcal threw a ball low and it bounced pass Nomar
    Renteria booted a ball
Spivey also booted a ball, but got one out

All in all, much more realistic in the error department, you can go games without one....but have 2 or 3 in one game...very nice, it also helps lower ERA a bit

For contact I have it at 7 for both CPU and Human...alot fo foul balls this way if you a little bit off on the location of the pitch or if it just outside the zone, and the CPU K's a bit but you have to pitch smart...there are also alot of variety of hits...comebackers, texas leaguers and Baltimore chops

Power is at 14 so that if you miss the meter on a FB or CU even Molina of the Cards will take you deep

Arm Accuracy is 4 for both...you will see the reach high, the off throw from the OF and bounced balls to 1st

Arm Strength at 15, you can take your time and set on most plays...and you can still get the guy at 1st on a nice dive by the SS, BUT with errors at 18...you might throw it away if you rush
This also helps negate the amount of triples when it goes past your fielder and you got a semi speedy guy running the bases or the man on 2nd tagging up to 3rd ALL the time, even if he is mediocre in the speed department and even with 15...the 4 arm accuracy makes it possible to steal bases...I have 1 SB with Rollins (on a CB) and 2 SB and 1 CS with Abreu...he got caught on a FB steal

Baserunning aggresiveness I have at -2...the CPU will hold up more...but I haven't seen a steal attempt yet...but I only had a speedy guy on 1st 2x in 13 games, usually I keep them in check...so far

I have injuries maxed, yet have only had one...when Lieberthal got plunked in the head...and he was ok the next day

The CPu hasn't had an injury yet

i ve played 4 games with error set 18 too..i got the same relistc number of error as you but i notice that glicth were the animation of the player cathing the a line drive just doesnt pop and you walk through the ball will happen more with the error slider that high... i say this casue after playing 12 games with errors set to 13 i didnt see once this glicth but than when i set it to 18 , it has happened at least twice a game for me...

        Braves(me) 2 7 1
        Astros 5 11 0

Overall it had a very good feeling to the game. My starter shut them down for the first 4 innings but unfortunatly I had to take him out because it's still spring training and my bullpen got lit up. The 7 hits was a high for me so far playing with these sliders and level. It's my 4th game so far and I went straight to this sliders when I got the game. Strikeouts are still a problem for me but I can tell that with practice I'll cut them down. My one error was an overthrown cutman, 1st error in the 4 games i've seen. I think I might boost it up a few more notches.

One question for you guys using htese slider: I have yet to hit a HR and get very few extra base hits, Are you guys using the power swing at all?? I don't really want to, but if it will help with the extra base hits I just may have to.

I haven't used the power swing at all. I get more 2b's than Hr's, which is good. When I am patient, I get the HR's. This game makes you pay for being a hacker. I would say stay with it and it will come, but if you want to boost your power go for it. Whatever will suit your needs. Let me know how it goes.

How well are you guys drawing walks on this level? I heard it was harder to draw walks on HOF comapared to All-Star level for some reason.

D.Lee had a 5 hr game streak..and in this game he got only a walk in his favor..nothing more

Well you have to think of it this way

How many HRS is a GOOD amount? 40 HRs?

Ok, a guy that hits 40 hrs has over 600 Plate Appearances...that is one HR per 15 Plate Appearances or 1 Hr per 3.5 games roughly

Alot of times guys hit 2 Hrs in a game...you hit 1 and their confidence soars...so you get another one with the same player

See what I am getting at?

Hittinga HR is VERY difficult in real life, so be patient...by August you will notice some of your guys have 15+ Hrs and some have 25+ and you will wonder why you thought you weren't hitting HRS in April

For the power swing, I use it with guys like Burrell and Ryan Howard...pure sluggers...so its either a K, weak grounder, power double or HR

More often it is the 2 former

Guys like Utley, Abreu and David Bell (vs lefties) if I see a pattern I will guess LOCATION, not pitch and Bam, a double or HR, depending if my timing with the power swing is correct...if my timing is off...usually a very hard hit out

Use right analog down to dive, up to jump...and do not use Assist fielding...I am manual, and I never had a problem with balls going through my fielders anymore

Seems the right analog is much more sensitive then the R1 and R2 button, which is why I think they put it in that way

With Assist I usually overan fly balls to the track I should (and do) catch when using manual fielding

Also with Arm Strtngth on 15...sometimes a bobble you will still get the guy at 1st, just like real life
and with 18 errors, sometimes it will bounce off your glove and if a fielder is next to you...he will complete the play...so it IS an error, but the game doesn't record them because the play was made (which is incorrect) but it makes your heart jump a beat

ASSIST is sort of like MANUAL(well to me atleast lol), you can take control of the fielder when ever you want. It is basically manual but the AI just takes the first step and then you finish at times i dont even let them take the first steps, i do it myself.

I just got a rare afternoon game in...the wife has a meeting

Game 2 NY @ Oak...Harden shuts me down.

                              NYY 0R 5H 1E
                              OAK 8R 15H 0E

Harden was just unreal. He is that talented in real life so I was cool with it. I had nothing but 4 bloopers and one Sheffield line drive down the 3rd base line for a double.

Mussina didn't have it. I couldn't throw strikes and he was done after in the middle of the 4th. Small came in and did a nice job of stopping the bleeding.

Here's the thing...Errors. It might of been coincidence or tied to Mussina sucking, but Posada and Stinnett were awful behind the plate. 3 passed balls. Could that be the result of the error sliders or Mussina really sucking? I will keep errors where they are (or even try the 17), but if this is the case, I don't know what to make of it. Can anyone else confirm this.

Even though I got killed, it was a fun game. If I can figure out errors, I think I am set.

this game was a kind of game i was expecting for a long long time..and evan though i was shut down i love it...
D.Lee had a 5 hr game streak..and in this game he got only a walk in his favor..nothing more
tankfully i had beat them in the 2 first games of the series: 5-0(Zambrano's shotout) and 11-2
That's what I'm talking about! That looks like a big league summary. What were your errors set to? That's the one area I can't get a handle on. When I had them at +3 I went through a string of 4 games or so with a couple of errors in each. Now, even when adding to it at +5, I haven't really seen too much. What's your take on this?
