    I've thought about it. I did in last year's game because, like you said, it gave me just a little more time to judge the location of the pitch. I'm not ruling out doing the same this year.

      hey everyone.....Pared, thanks for teh sliders amigo! i played 06 on all-star and really loved the balanced level of play, CPU/hum, so i am somewhat anxious about jumpin to HOF...my question is this: am i just gonna get crushed on HOF? i know, i know, "just go ahead an play with sliders and see for yourself?" does anyone know of some good all-star sliders i can use as well? thanks in advance

        In The Show 2006, acknowledging that Gathright and Logan are the fastest players in the game, I gave ONLY those two an 85 for speed-tops. The second tier was Jose Reyes, Carl Crawford & Willy Tavares...at 83

        Ichiro and a few others were at 80

        And everyone else falls in line under 80.

        The slowest I gave to Bengie Molina, Jason Phillips and Mike Piazza....25. Those guys are brutal when it comes to running

        I've been thinking about establishing a SPEED thread.

        Honestly Rod, your work maybe in vain. Baserunning speed I beleive is part of the player's progression. They will go up/down during course of your season/chise.

        Thanks Pared for your efforts. Will test these out.

          Played another, won 3-2 over the Braves.

          Myers went 6.2, allowing 5 hits and 2 ER. He walked 4 and struck out 6.

          Braves finished with 2 runs on 7 hits.
          I had 3 runs on 9 hits.

          Good so far.

            Nope..not in vain. Because I only play one season anyway..and for that season...I dont want guys like Shawn Green running as fast as Julio Lugo. You can talk progression all you want, but when those two are rated about the same in the game, then you know you got a problem...LOL

                Why would you want to raise pitch command? I have it lowered quite a bit and just do issue about 3 walks a game. I know darn well I wouldn't see that if I raised it!

                    Depends on whether you use Meter or Classic pitching. I am using Classic, and just walked 7 in 6.0 IP with Kris Benson.

                      Yep, it all depends what pitching system you use. I use Classic as well and have no trouble walking 3-5 players a game. Very realistic. I was thinking of raising the Pitch Command slider as well because it is a lot harder hitting your spots.

                        Everyone already answered for me.

                        Mill, those are AWESOME stats. I just had a game yesterday where, as the Mariners, I came back and tied the Tigers at Comerica Park in the top of the 9th, after I was down 3-1. Two walks and timely hits sealed the comeback.

                        But then of, course, I get two quick outs in the bottom of the ninth, give up a single, double, unintentional walk, and a GRAND SLAM to Sheffield. Needless to say, I was pissed and excited at the same time. Great, great game... I think my final line was something like:

                        7 12 0

                        I replayed the game to insure variety with these sliders and I was already up 3 runs in the 2nd inning on (IIRC) 4 hits. Glorious thing to witness....

                          Ah. I use meter because, as much as I loved High Heat, I wanna put it in my hands. I want to walk people, but I want it to be because I couldn't hit my spot. And I want to strike out people, but I want it to be because I hit my spot perfectly.

                            Using the meter is easier than classic. IMO It's still in your hands and you still need to hit the spots but just without the visual aid.
