Are you kidding??? I've gotten picked off at least 10 times already. I had to turn that one down significantly. Might have to do with speed, I have the Mets so guys like Reyes and Beltran are going to be thrown at a lot.

DUH! I guess I forgot to mention that in my post. Yes, on Veteran. I played another game last night and lost 6-5 in 11 innings. I turned API off because I wasn't getting strikeouts. With API off, I struck out 7 and walked 3. I also drew 3 walks.

Great sliders Pared, I was really impressed.
I actually play with it on, set to No Feedback. I rarely guess location, just a fastball on hitters counts. Very realistic and now, useful with the lack of feedback.

Glad you all are enjoying them. To be quite honest, I have not made any changes.... they are running well as listed.

If you take a two step lead with someone that has a speed over 80, the CPU will just continue to throw over again and again. The settings here alleviate that. The CPU will never throw over if you don't take a decent lead.

Good to see they work well on veteran!

The sliders are more for those that do not want to be getting 15 hits every game... with these, you might even have some 6-8 hit games.... they really should limit your success on hits. You'll make contact... but you should. The main concern was the amount of hits you accumulate. Variety is not sacrificed as well...

          Re: Pared's Gameplay Sliders!

Pared, I have a question. Why Pitch Count at +2? Has this slider changed since last year? Why not max it out like most of us did with the '06 game? Just curious as to what your reasoning is. Thanks.

So far, these are playing great on Veteran. The only tweak I did was

          CPU Contact -4
          Hum Contact -2
          Hum Power +2

Just lost to the Reds 3-2

          Reds 3 11 0
          Rox 2 10 0

Each team had one homer each. I struck out 6 and walked 3 with API Off.

ah, i never really take a two step lead

I only steal with Crisp and Lugo, I feel the two step lead is a free steal.

Yeh, that's my question too. I played against Cleveland and Sabathia was throwing 80% strikes. He threw nothing but strikes for the first 1 1/3 innings, even against Vlad. I think I will either max out the pitch count or at least up it to +5. Because his pitch count at the end of the 2nd inning was only 13.

So far, these are playing great on Veteran. The only tweak I did was

                  CPU Contact -4
                  Hum Contact -2
                  Hum Power +2

Just lost to the Reds 3-2

                  Reds 3 11 0
                  Rox 2 10 0

Each team had one homer each. I struck out 6 and walked 3 with API Off.

hey tfigs we seem to play the same way. i have tried these sliders on vet also. but i have yet to hit a HR. are you getting Hrs? i bumped power to +2 and till nothing. maybe i should go to +3 or +4? i strike out a lot too I cant catch up to FBs but thats just me, my reflexes suck, lol. any tips or anythign else you have changed to these sliders for a better game on veteran? thanks man. oh and i dotn use guess pitch or anything. i dont even use the zone hitting, i just swing. i have a hard enough time of timing it right, let alone pushing L3 to a zone.

My HR's were real low until I bumped up HUM Power to 12 (+2 from default). I have put both HUM and CPU Contact at 0 (-10 from default) and kept CPU Power at default. Try lowering Pitch Speed to 6 (-4 from default). That will give you a little more time to judge the pitch and also time to pull the ball and get a little more power. I play like you, I just use timed hitting only and don't bother with the L3 stick. I have been getting 9-12 hits a game averaging a homerun and a couple of doubles. The key with homeruns is patience and working the count to something favorable to the hitter. I know that is easier said than done. With CPU Pitcher Aggressiveness at +8 (-2 from default), you will see more balls and be able to work the count. I drew 5 walks in my last game against the Pirates and been averaging around 3 walks a game. I also have Plate Awareness at +12 (+2 from default). The rest of my sliders are the same as Pared's.

I was thinking of posting my own Veteran sliders after I am comfortable with them for sure. I still tweak them a little. You also got to keep in mind the team you use. I play with the Rockies and I am sure I would have very different results if I played with the Yanks. If I can play .500 ball, I would be satisfied. If you have any more questions, just ask.

ya dude its funny how similar we play, lol. all the post i have read by you , i think "wow, thats just what i do", or "ya i have problems with this or that too", haha. any way i play with the pirates, who were last in HRs last year in all of MLB, so I gotta keep that in mind. i also play with pitch speed all the way down (i know i am horrible, lol) fastball are the only pitch i have trouble with, i either swing late and miss or hit it the other way. i also changed contact to 0 and power to 12 just like you did. i have hit one HR with Laroche and one with Bay in about 10 games which isnt bad, but thats it no one else has hit one. you think maybe i should move power up more?. il try changing plate awareness +2 and CPU pitcher Agg -2 and see how it goes, thanks for the help man, i played with yoru sliders last year and had a lot of fun. when you get a set you like please post them.

oh and i should also mention that i rarley use the power swing. Sometimes on like 2-0, 3-0, or 3-1 counts ill use it but probably 90% of the time i use contact. i am also striking out a lot, like 10 times a game on avg. I struck out 16 times yesterday! but maybe these changes you suggested will help. i also use the WIDE batting angle. ok well im going to go play now.

I will use the Power Swing like you, only on hitters counts and only occassionally. Most, if not all of my HR's have been with the Contact Swing. I would stick with that. Also, try Catcher View, that may cut down on strikeouts, especially if you chase low fastballs. I think the fact that you play with the Pirates and I play with the Rockies, is why we have similar results. The Rox only hit 157 homers last year and were near the bottom as well. Try the changes I suggested and let me know what happens. And remember, patience at the plate. I always try and take one strike.

Does the left analog stick do anything when hitting? I can't tell if it influences anything at all. When i just push the button and thats it, i still get solid contact even when its outside, inside, etc. Is it zone hitting or just a push button hitting?

i played a game last night with your new suggestions and lost 2-1. it was a fun game. i didnt get a hit until the 8th inning though. i still struck out 10 times. i think its casue i cant catch the FB. i bet half of my Ks were on fastballs. other than that it was fun. i didnt hit any HRs either, i hit one to the track with bay. ill go back to cathcer view and see if that cuts down my Ks. i was trying wide casue i used catcher view all last year and was looking for somethign different. i felt like i was pretty patient, i took a lot of pitches and got into good counts, like 2-1 and 2-0 but the CPU would always come back on me thus i never walked. but i will try to be MORE patient. thanks again man. go ROX and go BUCS!

on rookie its just timing only, but on Veteran and up its zone hitting. but it seems on veteran it doesnt matter if you use the L3 or not, i never use it and do just as well hitting. some people have said that all star you dont need to use L3 either, but i am not sure on that.
