use power swing more!!!

I've never been a fan of 2 types of swings, but is that what everyone is using? Do you power swing every AB?

I very rarely use the power swing that is why I have human power at +1. If people use the power swing I could see how the hits could pile up and they would have to lower the power slider.

So I'm 5 games into my franchise and I've scored 5 runs. I'm not striking out that much (probably 4-5 a game), but i just can't put any runs on the board. I'm not using guess pitch and I'm not using the power swing. Should I be using these? I really don't want to, so should I adjust some sliders? Maybe we're just starting out cold or something. I'm making good contact most of the time but I can't get anything to drop. I also have 29 hits, 1 double, and 4 hrs. Any suggestions???

Bring up the contact to -8 and see how that works.

Ok, i'll raise it a few and see what happens. I'm not striking out much, I just can't seem to get many base hits...maybe 5-6 a game

Remember, the contact slider in this game determines the quality of the bat on ball contact not whether you swing and miss.

I only recommend the power swing if you have the patience of Jobe and the eye of an eagle because you cant check swing with it. So when you use it you better be sure the pitch is in the zone or your gonna wiff or hit into an out. You also dont have as much plate coverage on borderline pitches.

Screw it...I just need to get better at the plate. I'll leave it at 0. Seems like everyone else is scoring with these sliders.

It's okay to change the sliders to get to your comfort level. Don't struggle and force yourself to stay with a certain setting because others are. It will get there!

I would play a few more games and see if the trend continues. If it does bring the cpu power to default and contact at -8. Anything over default with regards to cpu power really changes the dynamics of the game. You could also adjust the cpu plate discipline to make them swing a little more but be careful because that will lower your pitch counts.

Nemesis I just recently started playing with guess pitch off and it's made a big difference. I'm getting more variety of hits than ever now.
I can still guess a pitch but only now when I do I don't get that flashing cursor so I know where to put the bat. It makes the game much more genuine without it.

I never use that feature, I feel it inflates the hitting game too much if you use it all the time and some of the hits are just rocket shots.

Loving the sliders Nemesis. My question is if I want to slow down the pitch speed for myself which one should I tweak? Player1 pitch speed or CPU pitch speed?

For hitting purposes it would be the cpu pitch speed slider. How have your games been overall?

Im getting good games. I just lost 2 in a row at Oakland on nail biters. Should have won them both but costly errors in addition to my bad bullpen did me in. I lost both games 5-4. Im currently 5-6 with the Yanks and look to avoid the sweep tonite. Im 4 games behind the streaking Red Sox!!!

have there been any adjustments to this slider set recently? I downloaded them from My Community in MLB and they play great. My ONLY issue is that I am getting many singles, not many homers and rarely any extra base hits. The totals (hits/k's/walks) look great, but getting that double or triple are very hard to come by.

Should I up the Power by a click or 2? I rarely use the power swing, since I never do it when there is a strike being thrown and you can't check swing so I want to basically cut it out completely and be able to hit a realistic amount of HR's with just the contact swing.

Or is it better to lower the CPU Fielder Reaction (not sure what it is called but I believe it is the equivalent to this) to allow for more doubles/triples?
