Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
That is a lot of moving around. Honestly, I do not know how they would play out.
Having the cpu at default is going to generate a lot of offense. To me you lose some hit variety at default.
Personally, I do not like the cpu running aggression slider at default because the cpu makes poor choices running the bases. Especially with balls hit right in front of them.
Overall, leaving the cpu and human power and contact slider at default really changes things. It will play a different style of ball. Not saying there is a right way or wrong way, ultimately it is what you feel comfortable with!Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
And with one swing of the bat, I'm happy and love this game again...YES, finally got my first win! Alright, lemme give the quick details of the game. Game 3 of my series against the Mets (I'm the Yankees of course) in the Bronx, game starts off slow, with the computer scoring a run in the 5th and 6th innings. I happen to get 1 run in the 7th inning. I'm down 2-1 until the bottom of the 9th inning. The Mets bring in their closer Billy Wagner, well, turns out I'm at the top of my batting order, well, almost, anyways, Derek Jeter is up first, after 2 balls and a strike, he hits one to the outfield, base hit. Next up, Bobby Abreu...who has been crappy in all my games, haha. After 2 strikes and 2 balls, I hit another one in a hole in the outfield, this brings Jeter to 3rd, Abreu to 2nd, I'm thinking I'm in pretty good shape on at least tieing the game. Well, up comes A-Rod, who's 0-3 in the game with 2 strikeouts already. I quickly go down 0-2 and it looks like the same as it has been the rest of the game. Then, I mentally pysche myself up, and really focus on the pitches. Well, 3rd pitch goes high and inside, ball...1-2 now...pitch 3, 4-seamer down inside, I swing...make contact...the ball is up, it could...go...all...the...waaaay! HR to win the game in the bottom of the 9th! Oh my God was I so dang happy, and I still am, I celebrated along with the guys on the screen, hahaha. Alright, well, thats my story, pretty cheesy I know, but I don't care, I'm so happy right now!
Sidenote - I thought it was cool, along the 5th inning, one of the Mets players got a basehit (and at this moment I can't recall who it was again), and then it shows him on first waving to the crowd and it shows the stat of his 1,000th career hit, and the announcers congratulated him, along with the fans, so I thought that was pretty sweet as well.
Thanks Again Nemesis!Comment

Great game dude..This game always amazes me..it plays a good game a baseball in the sense that games are unpredictable...exactly the way baseball is...You never know what is going to happen.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Brilliant work on the sliders! I've been using these in my Mets season and they're working out great. Only question is what slider would help me get more K's in? Through 21 games in the season I'm dead last in K's. Would I have to mess with the plate discpline slider? Cheers.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
Well my offense is horrible, not your sliders though, the Dodgers just cant seem to get hits when I need them. My question, if I lower the CPU contact down to 0 where you have it, will the CPU offense still be effective? Im slowly getting closer and closer to your actual settings anyways, cant lower my contact since Im really not that good on offense, Im 25th in the league in batting average, I like the aggression slider at default and with the SB Frequency at 11 I still see guys like Tavares steal on me so Im fine there. My biggest problem is the average at which the CPU is hitting against me, so like I said, would lowering the contact or power help this or should I just go and lower them both? Thanks for any insight you can provide.
EDIT- Well I played another game against Colorado after getting killed the 1st two games of the series I lost again but it was only 2-1 this time. I have all my settings exactly the same as yours now except my contact is at 2 instead of 0 and my CPU pitching aggression slider is at 0 instead of 2, everything else is identical to yours. I do use the guess pitch feature but I only guess down in the zone since its next to impossible to read if a pitch is a low strike or in the dirt, my only concern is since I only guess low but still swing if its in the zone and looks good, whether it be low or not, am I being penalyzed because I guessed low, or as long as I aim at the actual pitch I will make contact just like normal? I ask because when reading the definition for guess pitch with no feedback it states that the bonus is higher and the penalty is smaller so Im not sure what they mean by that, if it wasnt for my hitting eye being so horrible I wouldnt have to try this in the first place.Last edited by The Chef; 06-13-2007, 08:17 PM.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
OK... I love your sliders nemisis, but I'm having the opposite problem of most people. I am hitting the ball WAY too much. I'm batting about .350 and that is without me trying as hard as I can. Guess pitch is off. I'm also hitting a ton of opposite field homeruns, which in my opinion is a bit unrealistic since opposite field homeruns aren't that common. My user contact is at -10, but everything else is the same. What sliders should I tweak in order to make hitting a bit more of a challenge?Comment

At face value I feel the cpu has more of an offensive advantage than the human player. With that said I feel their slider setting should be a hair lower than yours when it comes to power. As a general rule I like to keep their power slider setting two notches below my setting.
If the cpu is smacking you around, put the contact at -10 or 0 and put the power at -1 and play at least five games to get an overall feel for the cpu offense. The games are so dynamic in the show that one or two is not a true test.
Post some boxscores and we will take it from there. Good luck!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Anyway, to make hitting harder you would need to lower the plate awareness slider. Bring it down to -7. Bring your power down to default or to -1.
How is the cpu's offense?“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)
I hope I am correct in thinking when you say cpu contact at 2, in my slider terms this would be -8? The only reason I ask is because I treat default as 0 and anything to the left would have a - and anything to the right would have a + in front of it.

On a side note, when checking my profile on the game it says my record is 17-22 but yet I havent even playd 10 games yet, sohow is this possible exactly? Anyone else seeing this on their end? I know this really doesnt belong here but figured I would pose it out of curiosity.Last edited by The Chef; 06-13-2007, 10:23 PM.Comment
