    Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)

Nemesis, great work with your sliders. I'm going to be following this thread all year. I just got my PS3 and I'm playing a RTTS for now while I feel like the sliders are well established for realism.

Will you making any updates soon? I know there's questions now about pitcher relief fatigue, contact, power, pitch speed... i'm playing at contact -8 and power 0 and i think its better than contact -10 and power +2 as you suggested earlier because with low contact the hits were a little too soft.

Also, pitch count at +5 or +7? Will you be releasing a new version of your sliders clearing up some of these questions?

hey nemesis i have a new set of hitting sliders that im doing extensive testing on, there both for user/cpu, i also brang down the pitch speed 1 notch-1 it gives great ball dynamics to the game and also u can identify pitches better, good pitchers will be good and there fastball will get by u at times, mediore pitchers u can identify pitches better but the can have there good game also, pitch speed at -1 works very well with the hitting sliders im doing extensive testing on, i have already decided on contact for user/cpu, right now im testing several power settings and im down too 3 power settings to test extensively, i think u will like the flow of the game with good challenge and great ball dynamics, i will post tonight or tomorrow,Thanks......Nasa

They just arent able to put together enough hits to really have a big inning I guess. Power will probably need to be raised but I keep checking the Dodgers in real life and they tend to not give up a ton of homeruns thanks to Dodger Stadium and their team era is pretty good as well so I may just have to come to the conclusion that I have a good pitching staff and deal with it I guess. The reason I gave thought to raising them was because my starters are pitching pretty well, Penny wasnt doing so well but hes been doing better recently, its been the bullpen thats gotten hit hard, so thats the only reason my teams era isnt first in the league, but it is 3rd currently. I just dont go into a single game with the thought that I might get lit up, I really only think I can accomplish this by raising the contact, just dont want to see my strikeouts go back to 2-4 per game, thats my only concern. I appreciate your advice that you always offer, this is a great game either way with a few tweaks here and there needed for some but thats to be expected.

I would up the power slightly. Imo, contact should go no lower than -8. After that the hit variety loses personality.

Let me know where you are at! I know I am going to stay with contact at -8 for now and I am settling on a new power number to compliment the change.

Some tweaks will be coming shortly.

              Pitch count is at +7.

Great sliders! Plugged in your PS3 sliders and upped my contact by two more clicks than what you had down. The game is playing awesome. It has a good flow to it, and the hit variety is nice.

First game in my 'Chise and Carlos Zambrano pitched a two hitter, with 8 K's. The next game against the same team we fought back and forth before I lost 4-3. Love the variety. Thanks a bunch!

You have pitch count at +7 on the PS3? I know you had it on the PS2 but I thought you had this at default. I keep seeing people mention your sliders online, where are these exactly? I hear sportsconnect thrown around and I dont even have a clue what that is, so if you could shed some light on this I would appreciate it, or post the update you go with once you feel confident about them that would be appreciated as well, thanks.

EDIT- nm, just went back to post # 227 and noticed that I must have copied it over incorrectly. Maybe with this at +7 instead of default it will make it tougher to pitch to the CPU, we will see once I put it back there. I had it at +10, then lowered it to default but will put it back to +7 and see what happens. Still have wind at default and seem to hit more homeruns with it at this setting, could be all in my head at this point but it seems to make a difference.

I tuned down the error slider. I'm surprised you have it full.

The reason that it is maxed is because errors are few and far between.

I was afraid to max it outmyself but you actually get a better number of errors in say a 1 week period. I thought I would be getting 2-3 errors a game but that isnt the case.

After raising the pitch count to +7 I can definently see a difference in the way the CPU approaches each at bat but I dont see better results because of it as of yet. For instance, last game against the Reds I only gave up 4 hits, I did walk them 4-5 times so their OBP was above .300 but the hits werent there yet. Im gonna keep chugging along, let me know if you come across any different settings that may help this area of the game nemesis.

CPU Contact is -8, CPU Power is +/- 0 and CPU Plate Discipline is +5.

I recently noticed that by not filling the meter for every pitch the CPU wasnt hitting the ball as hard, it could all be in my head but I was initially trying to hit spots instead of overpower people and it was working but too well probably, in the game I am currently playing Lowe gave up 3 ER over 7.0 innings but also gave up 9 hits and walked 1 so thats a lot better. I guess I just need to go back to maxing out every pitch since it seems to give better resultsm, so far atleast.

If you want try power at +2, that will open up the offense. Your last game you posted was not bad overall! Let me know!
