Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
--------R -H--E
Barons--5 11 0
Missions 4 11 0
I won 5-4, in a thriller. I was winning 5-1 after a Gordon Beckham homerun, but I brought the closer in an inning early and paid for it.
Player of The Game
Gordon Beckham
2-4, 2 RBI, 1 HR
Im a little worried about the ammount of hits, but I will have to play a few more games before coming to a conclusion.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Hey PsychoBulk.... I'm starting to second guess fielding reaction being at 10 ?
I have played 30 games so far and I'm seeing that sliding stop and bullet throw animation that the CPU (SS) makes flawlessly in the hole way too often with reaction at 10
Have you or anyone else been getting that animation too often from the CPU ?Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
in my games, not sure any slider setting could address this... i see way too often my outfielders go for lay yourself out dives (injury elevating) for linedrives instead of rounding about them to catch them on a one hop to keep them to single. Instead the ball rolls toward or to the warning track... i've seen another outfielder, or an infielder run all the way up to fetch balls. These end up being very stupid triples, unnecessary doubles. It'd be more realistic if it were for a pending no hitter, or a close game, late inning, etc.Comment

I have read through several of the posts even where you said Psycho that they can be used on any level but they were made for All star but I was wondering if any one has tried these sliders on Veteran to see if they worked properly...if you have or know anyone that has really good sliders for Veteran can you let me know...Thanks for your help....It's all about the man Hammer'n Hank...Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Tony I used them on veteran for a little while and they worked great. I was simply getting killed on AS. The CPU wont tee off as much on veteran. I was finally able to get better at pitching and needed the upgrade to all-star. I am now using pbz06's sliders on AS, which is very similar to Bulk's with the exception of the fielding sliders and the CPU pitching sliders. Although now my hitting is suffering a little, even though I won 9-2 today with 16 hits. That was my best overall offensive game so far on AS.
But yeah, they will work very well on veteran.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
Been awhile since I posted but figured I would let you guys know I changed the strike frequency to 0 and the fielder arm strength down to 2. With me using auto baserunning, my guys still get thrown out to much going first to third. I'm hoping this will correct that problem. I was also seeing to many 0-2 counts so I made that adjustment as well.
Worked out well in the first game after the adjustment, I'm interested to see how things progress from here.
Through two weeks of play I'm 6-5....with the season underway I don't get to play as much as I'd like but I've gotten in a solid 11 games in and getting a real feel for this game now.
My team average is around .282 and my Team ERA is around 4.Comment

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show
I decided to take pbz06's advice from another thread and change fielders reaction back to default (5)
Wow guys what a difference I'm seeing....It's a whole new ball game
I'm hitting .289 after six games and have double the extra base hits that I had with reaction at 10
I love it... I'm actually seeing outfielders NOT be able to make shoe-string catches on every sinking line drive hit at them resulting in more base hits... also I can now get hits besides hard line drives down the 3B and 1B lines for sure doubles and I actually hit a routine shallow fly-ball rear the LF line that Connor Jackson couldn't get to on the dead run so he tried a do or die dive and missed badly
I had 2 high pop-ups to shallow CF that actually dropped in front of the CF running in because the 2B finally couldn't back peddle and make an amazing play
I can now actually hit seeing eye singles through the infield and Texas leaguers into the outfield without being robbed
I'm totally convinced the game and fielding animations play more realistic and smooth at default and I can't believe what I was missing
I suggest anyone using PsychoBulks great sliders to change fielder reaction back to default (5) for just five games and see what you've been missing
With this adjustment I now believe these sliders are "PERFECT"Last edited by DodgerFanatic2K3; 04-21-2009, 03:11 PM.Comment
