    Psycho,

I am having trouble pitching on Allstar using 1.3 of your sliders. I use meter pitching and have a franchise with the Indians. My team ERA is about 5.50 and it just very hard to get quality starts out of my starters. Should I stick it out? Or is there a slight tweak that you can recommend for me? Ive played about 30 games or so with these sliders.

      Jess.

Fielder Speed is on 1, it is reaction that is on 10.

      I suggest new glasses

punjabi, i would say stick at it, yes, my ERA through 46 games is 4.02, it can be done, it just requires a lot of patience and to really think about what and where you are going to throw. Hope it improves for you.

I turned contact to 0, and took power and solid hits down a notch and I'm still going nuts on offense. Maybe I should leave everything like you had it and turn timing to 0?

Psycho, how does the CPU play if I turn down their Contact even further?

Meaning, I am happy with my ERA, which is realistic, so are my allowed homeruns/doubles. My only annoyance is the CPU gets a lot of base hits, mostly 2 out singles that don't result in runs but just tacks on their hit totals.

It's not uncommon for me to give up only 4 runs, but like 15 hits.

Would turning down their contact a bit make their overall hitting decrease? I don't really want it to affect their runs scored and power numbers etc.

Or maybe I'm just psychologically pitching for contact once I get 2 outs....

            I play contact 1, timing 4, solid hits 3, power 6. On Pshyco's defaults, I was hitting 3-4 HR's 2-3 doubles a game. Now I average 6-10 hits a game, and 4-7 walks.

I am happy with my team batting average and HR but I would like to see some more doubles.

Any suggestions on how to increase them without increasing HR as well?

BTW, I do not want to adjust fielder speed any lower as it seems to effect my OF more than it does the CPU.

If you ask me, timing has a huge impact on XBH. If you want more Doubles without increasing you HRs, I think you should lower the power-slider and increase timing.

Rule of thumb I've seen: to get extra base hits to increase, batting averages must decrease. Which is fine by me, as slugging, and other appropriate (sac flys) stats increase.

Agreed, better timing greatly contributes to XBA's, however I'd lower the solid hits, keep timing where it is, and have power around 4/5/6. It's all about the ball's trajectory.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try to raising timing. I am afraid to lower contact though ( I have it at default) as I am hitting .247 through 31 games.

When I said I was happy with my avareage, I should have clarified and said I was satisfied that it wasn't too high!! It sucks, but I feel like it will improve as I concentrate more and lay off more bad pitches.

I have finally started to cut down on my K's, so hopefully a few more base hits will follow.

I think my hitting is 5 contact, 6 power, 5 timing, and 5 solid hits. I will try timing at 6 for a few games.

Try contact at 1 or 2, I guarantee you will see what you are looking for.

I think one thing we must all remember is that we all probably differ somewhat in our abilities as gamers, and especially hitting, so a lot of it is personal but Howie, yes, go with what has been suggested and see how it goes.

I'll give it a shot. I really think all I need are a few more line drives to the gaps (instead of fly balls that the CPU OF can run down).

My stats through 31 games were almost spot on except for the doubles.

Psych whats your stolen base percentage? I've been playing games with the Rays and I keep getting gunned down.

Ok, Psych or anyone else who's been using these sliders for awhile..still running into the same problem. I have now played 16 games and not given up more than 2 runs in any game, regardless of who's starting for me (I'm the Jays). On top of that, the strike to ball ratio is still to high (I'm using API). Any suggestions?
