And, Psycho, I'm not saying there's a problem with your sliders, these are the best of the bunch for me so far. I'm just really frustrated at this point. I've never gone this many games (over 40) without scoring more than 5 runs. I don't want to give up on this game though, it's the best sports game I've played in a long time.

Thanks for the help all, hopefully things turn around for me.
Gotcha. I'm still learning the ins and outs of baseball, and quite frankly wasn't thinking complexly enough when I first got the game to have much success. I just posted that in the event that it might help, but it sounds like you know what you're doing much more than I did, lol.

Good luck, and hang in there!

PS Seems to me that this game needs really large sample sizes to generate conclusions--it's not unheard of to have a bad *month* at the plate, on the mound, etc.?

Yep, agree with that, i would get some months with last years game where i barely hit a ball past the infield, then i would get some months i just felt far more "on" and was scorching the ball everywhere. Large sample size is a very accurate description, absolutely.

Anyone using these with classic pitching?
If so what sliders are you using?

I am noticing that whatever sliders I use if I try anything other than default control and consistency for the USER it makes a drastic difference. With both higher my pitching is too good and I throw too many strikes, yet the CPU struggles to hit those strikes making pitching very easy. If I lower them both past default I might as well take my pitcher out and set up a tee for the CPU to hit off of.
Maybe I am just that bad at pitching

Before my PS3 went down, and right before I setup Psycho's sliders to try them out, I played one game with "classic" pitching and was thinking about trying it out a bit longer. I'm "meter" guy by heart, but with Confiedence being such an issue this year and so sensitive, I was thinking of trying Psycho's sliders with "classic" to see how the pitcher's do. With the meter, it seems that if you barely miss the accuracy mark, you get shelled and your confidence spirals downhill. I'm thinking "classic" might be a good alternative to some of us.

I used meter the very first version of the show, whatever year that was, but I think that was the only choice we had. Once they put the classic pitching in I have used it since. I just felt the meter to be too robotic if you know what I mean.
I like a lot of the settings Psycho has. I'm just looking for that happy medium for pitching.

Just played a game with these sliders and yes its only one game but i got killed by the Phillies! I was playing as the Braves and in one inning the Phils got back to back to back home runs! They totaled 5 HR's and all i could do is get singles. I didnt score a run and the Phils scored 8. Now i may just suck but i was a little surprised with the CPU power. Not to mention Cole Hamels went 3 for 3.

That's not a Slider issue though. The CPU is relentless and unforgiving on any difficulty and on any slider set. It's not like Psycho's sliders are that much different than Default anyway.

I've played 4 games with these sliders and I must say I'm pretty happy so far. First two games my pitching was flawless...Wang and Pettitte threw gems and I beat the CPU by a fair margin(5-1 and 4-2). After these two games I thought pitching might be too easy.

Next game Sabathia also throws a very good game but it was a pitcher's duel and the CPU won 3-2. After this game I really thought pitching was too easy....but wow was I wrong. Next game Joba's up. First inning he is nasty...2 K's and one pop-up. I started thinking to myself, here we go again. However, second inning Joba gets ROCKED for 7 Runs! 7! It was against the Orioles! They were relentless with their bats. Middle of the game my bats woke up and I tied it 7-7. I then got ahead 8-7. Short story is that it was a rollercoaster ride and they won 12-9.

Good variety of games so far.

Psycho, do you have these on or off:

                            Strike Zone?
                            Ball Marker?
Guess Pitch? If on, is it default, etc?

Zone off, guess pitch off, ball marker fade.

                                JD - meter.
