I use classic and I changed a few of the global sliders and why listed on page 8.

PS- Nemesis is coming out with his slider set in a few weeks so be on the lookout for those everybody... His are truly outstanding year after year.

    TIP:
-lower pitch speed if you can't see the ball and are striking out 13+ times a game and swinging at everything! -

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show

some stats so far with these sliders (1st 5 games of season...i'm LAD)

      LAD 5 7 0
      SD 0 3 0

      LAD 2 3 1
      SD 5 7 0

      LAD 0 7 0
      SD 3 9 0

      LAD 3 8 0
      ARZ 7 10 1

      LAD 4 9 1
      ARZ 2 4 0

as you can see, VERY realistic box scores so far...here's my batting and pitching stats:

      BATTING:
      .209 AVG
      4 Doubles
      1 Triple
      5 Homeruns
      1 Stolen Base
      7 Walks
      48 K's

      PITCHING:
      3.43 ERA
      3 Homeruns Allowed
      3 Walks
      38 K's
      .86 WHIP
      .208 Batting Average Against

as you can see here, i strike out WAYYYY too often...i find it hard to pick up the slider and usually get struck out on that pitch...on the pitching end, my WHIP is ridiculously low, but that's based on not throwing enough walks...i think i might decrease the USER pitching consistency a tad and possible up the USER contact up a notch or two.

granted, its only been 5 games, but so far it's pretty realistic (besides the fact that Manny is HITLESS in 19 at bats so far).

will update as the season progresses...

Some good looking games of variety there lanky, thanks.

As you say, not issuing enough walks to the CPU is often our (human) own fault, we tend as players to want to throw too many strikes i would say, not everything can be rectified by sliders.

I'm not going to take the time to transfer my boxes over, but I have very detailed box scores in my dynasty thread here on OS. The link is in the sig if you're looking for detailed stats using your sliders Psycho.

Re: ***The 'Perfect' Slider Set*** MLB 09 - The Show

I just gave these a try and had an exciting game. I played with CPU comeback ON and pitch speed 0 and CPU power 0. I was down in the ninth 4-3, they bring in Mariano and I get a single, SB and another single then boom tie game! Jump to the 11th inning I bring in Shields, and of course he lets up a two run bomb, so I figured I was done, but I come up in the bottom half and get a leadoff single, SB, single again and cut the lead to 6-5. I had Kendrick coming up, so I pinch hit Marcus Thames(Who I just acquired like 4 games ago). 2-1 count and BOOM two run walk off. 7-6

Everything felt good, when they got doubles and scored I knew it was my fault and hitting wasn't a problem for me, I had been in a slump before. BTW A Roid went 0-4 3 K's

                    NYY 6 14 0
                    LAA 7 14 0
                    LA Angels
                    Dallas Cowboys
                    Anaheim Ducks

I posted earlier and am having trouble with hitting into the alleys, I am getting them down the line and it went to the corner on one hit, was nearly tagged out at second when it should have been a stand up double, I have twice had problems where my fielder has been to the catch zone at the last second and for some reason doesn't catch it. Just a few problems I am having and wondering if you guys are hitting the alleys, or seeing some of my issues. I use zone hitting and wondering if solid hits is the key and maybe fielder speed up one, what you think Psycho? Also, I am getting 8-12 hits per game so I am getting contact.

Nice job with these sliders, I had to drop down to HOF because i just aint good enough for LEGEND yet. The games have been high scoring, low scoring, etc... On legend the games were always the same I LOST. I am gonna stick to these sliders, drink some gatoroid and see what happens around mid-season.

Finally got a chance to use these. After just one game they played pretty well.
                            NYY (me) 3-10-0
                            TOR 5-12-1

I scored on a SAC fly in the 1st (Damon leadoff double, Texeira reached on E-6, sacfly by A-Roid)
Jays tied it on a solo HR by Rios in the 3rd. Took the lead in the 4th when Barajas with 2 outs hits one near the wall in right. Nady runs back then does a 360 to try and catch the ball and it goes over his head for a RBI double. 2-1. Next batter dribbles a single for another run. 3-1 end of 4. I get another SAC fly from Posada in the 5th, they come back and score 2 more after CC lost his control a little. He was over 80 pitches at this point and was tiring a little. 4 straight hits did him in, although none of them were hit really hard. One blooper from Rolen on a pitch at his feet that he just flipped into center for a run.
I get 1st and 2nd in the 7th, Nady doubles for one run, Matsui is thrown out trying to score from 1st on a play where the animation would have made it impossible for him to be tagged, but he was out anyway. 5-3. I load the bases and can't get another run that inning and lose 5-3. Overall a fun game. I think these will work out OK in the long run.

Next game Sabathia also throws a very good game but it was a pitcher's duel and the CPU won 3-2. After this game I really thought pitching was too easy....but wow was I wrong. Next game Joba's up. First inning he is nasty...2 K's and one pop-up. I started thinking to myself, here we go again. However, second inning Joba gets ROCKED for 7 Runs! 7! It was against the Orioles! They were relentless with their bats. Middle of the game my bats woke up and I tied it 7-7. I then got ahead 8-7. Short story is that it was a rollercoaster ride and they won 12-9.

Good variety of games so far.
I actually ended up making this mistake last night, I got to game 5 of my season and all 4 games were way to easy pitching. So I just concluded that I needed a harder level pitching wise so I went to Legend and I found at that was way to hard. I couldn't hit or pitch so I was really getting frustrated. All Star seemed to easy and Legend seemed to hard.

I read this thread again and need to keep reminding myself to give it a larger sample so I'm going to try these yet again. Some adjustments I have made though. Steal Frequency I put at default and Fielder Arm Strength I put a 3, I just find it hard to go to 1st and 3rd with it at default.

Going to try really hard to give these a good 20 games no matter what the results may be. I think it's to easy to give up on them to quickly.

Using these again, my first game I've given up 3 runs in 2 innings of work so maybe making the amateur mistake was my problem.

I really want to find a good set because I'm tired of starting my season over. I want to get this thing underway for good.

Ok now I know I made the mistake, Cain just got roughed up on a grand slam.

Gave up 7 runs in 2 innings of work.

                                Ouch.
