DrUrsus's, except I have pitch speed at 3 (I used to have it at 5, but lowering it helped my offense).

I also raised my power to 8, because I needed a little more pop.

Edit - I just noticed I had the CPU Control at 3 also....I tried it out, but forgot I changed it. So my last 2 games were with that.

Now this is more like it. I played against Oakland again, but this time used Toronto and Holladay...as I should have, I was able to shut them down for 8.0 innings and 0 runs and 5 k's. I still gave up a lot of 2 out singles (which has been a theme) for a total of 10 hits, but I was very happy with the shutout as it felt natural being able to dominate with Roy.

I also had a triple, a double, and a homerun. I was able to draw a lot of pitches (but only 3 walks) but it felt good. The 3 runs was all I needed with Roy on the mound. Oakland's pitchers threw for 60% strike ratio, which again was awesome.

So far my 3 game totals are 6 doubles, 3 homeruns, 10 runs scored, 9 walks, 25 hits (.255 avg), 1 triple, 14 ER (4.67 ERA), 44 hits given up (on the high side) ...not too shabby, right on par with MLB averages. Although I haven't seen any errors yet from either side.

Not one extra base hit by the computer - you're going to see that a lot unless their power is at least 6 and solid hits at 5. Will get boring pretty fast never giving up runs to the comp.

umm, yea, Roy Halladay will do that to teams

You must have missed the other games I have played....the CPU has hit plenty of doubles and homeruns already. And they have been on par with MLB averages for over the 20ish games total that I played with similar sliders.

My ERA is in the 4.50 range, so don't know where you got the idea that I'm not giving up runs.

Don't think it's boring, I'm enjoying the realistic stats.

DrUrsus, i use classic pitching and with other slider sets i have used having human pitcher control & consistency at 6 or higher just seems like it is to automatic and easy. I was thinking of dropping control to 5 and consistency to 4 or 3. Just curious to what you think about this...?

Depends how good you are. I use Classic, and the results above are with them at 7.

Re: DrUrsus All-Star Sliders to draw walks, be selective & CPU plays "fairer" game

Just had another game with nice results, and adding to the variety. I was the Mets (Santana) hosting the Pirates (Ohlendorf). I was cruising for 4 innings and thought I was on my way to another win, but they were able to make me pay for my casualness, lol.

Nice even variety of hits from both teams again, to add to my previous results. I hit another 2 doubles, and a homerun, for 4 runs and 12 hits. They had 4 doubles and 13 base hits. I still seem to be giving up a lot of total hits (double digits in every game), so I have to work on my pitching a bit.

I was kind of in a hurry, so again I struck out 10 times and walked 3 times. Again, I struck out on Ball 4 at least two times. I need to work on that too. The Pirates threw 68% for strikes.

I'm pretty much locked in with these sliders right now. This has only been 4 games with these exact ones and me keeping track, but I've been playing with very similar ones for about 25 games or so and have been getting solid results.

I still need to work on being a little more patient, and pitching a bit better (give up too many singles). But the overall feel from the CPU is spot on for me. The pitching, hitting, and all the overall results.

Thanks for all the feedback pbz, nice to see that your getting the results you want. Im still using the sliders that I posted here, with the exception being my power being raised to 6 since then but thats going to go up to 7 when I play the game again...

                      http://www.operationsports.com/forum...0-post164.html

My pitching is pretty good but Ive noticed that there is one theme here and its the hot/cold hitters. If the CPU has a hitter up who has been hitting well then its difficult to get them out and its the exact opposite if the hitter up has been struggling. Now normally this wouldnt be a problem for realism purposes but when a guy like Aramis Ramirez is struggling on the game he shouldnt damn near start hitting like a pitcher, thats kind of a letdown but otherwise Im enjoying everything so far. In the end Im sitting at 28-21 and 2 games behind Colorado for the division, 3 behind Chicago for the wild card right now. The CPU can struggle at the plate from time to time but Im also walking more guys so their OBP is still pretty good even when their batting averages arent. Sometime soon I will maybe shoot you a run down of where I stand stats wise through PM as I dont want to hi-jack the Doc's thread too much here. Keep in touch, let me know if you have any questions that maybe I can assist with as well.

I am excited to try out your sliders, cant wait till i get homke from work to try them out... I have been playing on veteran for my RTTS player for a few weeks before i started my franchise today.

I started my franchise on all-star mode with default sliders as the Mets.

Santana got rocked 7 runs in 6 innings allowing 3 HR. Reds 9 Mets 8. Wind blowing out 15MPH to right

Maine took a no hitter into the 5th inning but tired and gave up 3 runs in the 7th. Reds 3 Mets 1. No HRs Wind Blowing in 10 MPH

I am pretty paitent at the plate and draw about a walk or two per game with dafault settings and speed pitch...How much of a difference will lowering the pitch speed make when hitting?

Another solid game. My offense struggled a bit, but I was going against Oswalt. I struck out 9 times. I lost 4-2, hit 2 more doubles and had 7 total hits. They hit 3 doubles and had 10 hits.

What Im really liking about your results are the doubles from weaker hitters so far as thats my one real gripe about the game so far. Im about to fire it up and bump my power to 7 and see what happens, you got this at 8 right?

                              dumb question

                              CPU comeback: OFF

                              where is this option?

                              has a different name ?

                              thanks in advance.......
